“Had an amazing stay at Mudefird.”

Pictures do not do it justice, spacious, well laid out and lots of thoughtful extras. Met by the owner with home made bread and cake, then left us to it for a totally private break. Our dogs made welcome and loved the flat enclosed garden. Lots to do in the local area and some lovely places to eat. We enjoyed chilled out days with incredible, ever changing views. The kayaks were used every day! Don't think twice, book now, you won't regret it!

“Incredible location, comfortable accommodation and great attention to detail with personal touches from Claire.”

If you love birdwatching this is as close to paradise as it gets, (this is now a top destination to see white-tailed eagles with daily visits during our stay from a pair with a youngster.) Great walks nearby including heading into Christchurch and Mudeford Quay in the opposite direction to catch the little ferry over to Mudeford Spit. The 20 degree temperatures in early April was special but I think we’d love this place at any time of year.

“A lovely holiday home with fabulous views changing daily across Christchurch harbour.”

The house was very comfortable and warm with everything necessary for a relaxing break. The owner was there to greet us on arrival and explained all the facilities to us, which was really appreciated. We were also provided with a very good welcome package of bread, milk, cake and dog treats. As a couple with a dog we would highly recommend this house as a great place to stay with plenty of dog walking nearby and good pubs and restaurants in the local towns.

“Wonderful property in a truly fabulous location.”

Great dog walking and bird watching and so peaceful, we look forward to experiencing it in the summer months. Very much appreciated how well-stocked the property was i.e. hand soap, dishwasher tabs, bin bags, loo rolls, washing-up sponges, liquid etc. So many rentals lack these things and you have to pack it all yourself which never feels like much of a holiday! Huge thanks to the owner for a thoroughly lovely stay.

“Absolutely idyllic location.”

Accommodation was superb, quality of furniture for comfort was perfect and the owner goes above the call of duty baking bread and providing eggs and local information without being intrusive. We hope to return. The New Forest was a treat with roaming horses everywhere and a hidden pub in the woods High Cross. Beaches are numerous and accessible. Restaurants are fantastic, especially The Jetty. Perfect holiday, can’t say anymore!

The garden overlooks stunning views of the estuary with plenty of bird life and gorgeous sunsets. The cottage itself is clean, cosy and well equipped. Plenty to explore in the area and perfect for dogs with a secure garden and lots of walks. The host is lovely providing home made bread and cakes and eggs from her own chickens. One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

“This property does not disappoint from the minute you walk in and see the view!”

It had everything we’ve come to expect in UK holiday cottages, and more. Treats from the owner were delicious, facilities excellent, space and a real home from home feel. We loved the garden, and spent a great deal of time just observing the water and the birds. So close to Stanpit Marsh (with ponies) you can view it from the garden, walking distance to the pub and shop, while Mudeford Quay and Avon beach is about a 15/20 min walk away. We love the wider area, and this is our second stay in Mudeford, but this property knocked spots off our first stay! We holiday in this country a lot with our two labradors, and this is in our top three properties, one we will likely return to, we really didn’t want to leave.

The property is extremely comfortable and spacious and is the best fitted out of the many holiday properties we have stayed in. The views from the south facing windows over the water and the marshes were constantly changing and were a delight. Clare was a very welcoming and attentive host and provided freshly baked bread and cake on arrival and during the week and that was a real bonus! The property being all on one level was ideal for my wife who is blind. We shall hope to go back one day.

The property was comfortable, clean, and had everything you needed. The garden was great for the dog and a wonderful view to be seen through the large back windows. Clare the owner provided us with lovely home baked bread, scones and cakes, as well as treats for the dog. There was tea, coffee, milk, sugar, salt and pepper, and sauces. Beds were comfortable and shower and bathroom very good, always helpful having two toilets.This is one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. Clare has gone over and above the usual standards to make staying here a pleasure. We will definitely be back.

Ordinary from the outside but stunning on the inside. Everything you need is included, just bring clothes. Wonderful area for walks especially with dogs. View from the garden is wonderful especially if you are into bird watching. Never been to a place where the owner is so hands on. Clare was wonderful and happily baked bread and cakes for us. Nothing was too much trouble and she welcomed us personally. Practice reversing for parking. The best week we’ve ever had. Thank you Clare.

Very well presented apartment with high end comfortable furniture, plenty of space, great view of the water and marsh, and a garden safe for dogs and children. We have every intention of coming back. The cream on top is the wonderful baking that Clare provides during the week - superb. This “cottage” is not one to be ignored, if the area is right and the size is right, book it, we can’t see how anyone could be disappointed!

“Was surprised no one mentioned how bad the parking was!”

And had to reverse into busy road! Also no welcome pack!owner nice just presented us with a loaf of bread home baked! Watched TV settee was really uncomfortable got stiff after an hour! Shame no body mentioned these points, my dog didn't settle, and we were uncomfortable so left early.

Thanks for your feedback which is clearly very different to others! You advised me that you didn’t eat milk or dairy meaning I did not leave the usual milk and cakes at your request. I usually make more things throughout the week including catering for any special diets but since you left after one night was unable to do so. I think it was irresponsible going away with a 5 month puppy. I allow dogs but I would never take a puppy away to a holiday let property. There are 2 full welcome packs full of information on the property and the area. The settee is new and high quality. I now have a range of seating options to cater for different requirements. I really don’t think you should be driving if you aren’t able to back a car out of a driveway onto the road which isn’t even that busy. I guess the saying ‘you can’t please everyone’ is true, no matter how hard I try!! Property Owner

“Very impressed with this property, which was much to our liking.”

Modern and well appointed accommodation in a superb location, within easy striking distance of Mudeford Quay, Christchurch, Lymington, the New Forest etc. Claire (The Owner) has gone to a lot of trouble to make sure that everything you might need has been catered for, and as an added bonus will furnish you with homebaked bread and cakes, etc should you so wish. We did. Yummy ! As a windsurfer, I found it very handy to be able to leave my gear in the private rear garden, rig up on kit friendly grass and launch directly into the harbour, just beyond the back gate. What's not to like about that ? I also found the off road parking to be very useful. As we have been so pleased with our stay, we have already made a booking for the same time next year. That speaks for itself !

“The location was perfect and the inside of the property was decorated and furnished to a high spec.”

Beautiful views from the property with the garden backing straight on to the water. Clare allowed us to use her kayaks and the ping pong table which we all enjoyed. The games and colouring books available were a nice touch too and best of all were the baked goods that Clare provided on arrival and during the week. This was a lovely welcome treat. We are regular visitors to the area so we will definitely return to the property for sure.

“Lovely property right by the water.”

Close to amenities and attractions but also quiet if you want to get away from it all. The property had everything we needed. Our two little dogs really enjoyed the enclosed garden which was totally secure. The weather wasn't too great so we enjoyed watching the wind and rain, as well as the birds and the water, from the coziness of the property. Owner was very friendly and responsive and we were treated to some fabulous home-made bread and muffins and other goodies. We had a lovely relaxing week here and would definitely try to book this again if coming back to this area. Highly recommended.

The owner of the property was excellent. Homemade bread and cakes on arrival and she checked on us during the week. The house was spotless in a lovely location. We really enjoyed our stay. We would love to go again next year but we are disappointed to see that the cost has gone up by over £800.00. Whilst we appreciate costs go up every year, this is a huge increase for the same 2 bedroom property and we feel over £2225.00 for a 1 week stay is just too much.

“Upon arrival met by Clare who was extremely welcoming.”

The accommodation was perfect everything you would need was there. I was blown away by the garden and it’s views. Clare has a bird feeder which we topped up everyday. It was very calming and relaxing watching the birds feed mainly a huge family of sparrows added to the views out to the marsh. In the distance with the binoculars we were able to get a close up of horses grazing. Would highly recommend a holiday here.

There’s so many great places close to visit and to walk the dog and we even took the hosts kayaks out on the water to get a closer look at the wild ponies and birds, so tranquil! Overall a wonderful relaxing holiday in a idealic location with a great host, we’ll be back! 10/10!!

Our host Clare welcomed us at the property & had made us amazing macaroons & muffins & delivered home made bead to our door at 7.30 in the morning. Mudeford is a delight. We didn't venture out to.the local pubs or restaurants in the evening as we had evwrything we needed & didn't want to leave the cottage & the view.

“The efforts Clare put into making us welcome were exceptional and we thank her for the welcome goodies she baked for us on arrival and during our stay.”

The cottage has superb views across the marshes to Hengisbury Head and there is plenty of bird life to watch with the binoculars provided by the cottage. Had the weather been better we would have loved to use the table tennis table! Internally, to the highest standard and very well equipped. Only downside, the road can be noisy early mornings if you are sleeping in the front twin bedroom. Main double with sea views was great.

“Difficult to know how to score Harbour View because the ratings do not go high enough.”

If I praise it too much it will get booked up and not be available for me. Harbour View is an amazing property for comfort, location and facilities. But most of all is the host Clare. Clare made our stay really special, we benefited from her love of baking, produce was amazing. She is very caring and we had the comfort that we could call on her at any time if needed but not intrusive. I think if Clare could have control over the weather she would have, however it was very mixed but to be expected this late in the year. Super holiday all round.

“Harbour View has the most fantastic view from the lounge, master bedroom and garden which overlook the estuary with so many birds and if you are lucky beautiful sunsets can been seen from the garden.”

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and the location is handy for both visiting the coast and New Forest. Mudeford Quay is just a few minutes away which is handy for both beach and stroll on promenade busy but not commercialised. Clare our host was so friendly, helpful and spoilt us with her home bakes, bread and cakes, her macaroons were without doubt the best we have ever tasted. We would definitely stay here again and would have no hesitation to recommending to others.

Well equipped with everything you could need and more! Clare was lovely and welcoming with nothing too much trouble. We arrived to find milk, homemade bread, meringues, muffins and home grown tomatoes (with more supplies through the week) Great base to explore the surrounding area or just sit in the garden and enjoy the amazing views. “We knew the area well so we knew what to expect regarding the location but the welcome we received from Clare was by far the best we have ever had when arriving at a rented holiday cottage, The homemade bread and muffins were a lovely touch, so were the homegrown tomatoes and runner beans!”

The cottage is in a lovely position for walks and our cockapoo would have been in the water all day by choice. “We enjoyed everything about our holiday.”

We have used Sykes many times before for holiday lets and they have all been very good but this one is far exceeds them all. The apartment was excellent with a beautiful view of different birds, ponies and the sunsets were magnificent. Clare's hospitality gifts were outstand - homemade bread was to die for along with other surprises. Would definitely go there again if we were holidaying in the area. We would recommend this to anyone wanting a quite restful holiday - with so many lovely places to visit in the area.

“Excellent accommodation.”

Wonderful views from the back of the apartment and close to a range of other lovely locations within walking distance. A very peaceful and tranquil place, but not far from Christchurch if you wanted something a bit more lively. A great spot for families with children of all ages, and good for walks with the dog. Lovely hosts who made sure we felt welcome with fresh bread and home made muffins waiting for us on arrival. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment.

“Our stay at Harbour View was a perfect get-away.”

The house is well equipped, light and bright and the outdoor area postcard perfect. On arrival, we were greeted by the owner, who had also gone out of her way baking us fresh break and delicious rhubarb custard cupcakes. The area is stunning, fantastic walks, great local amenities and endless trails for dog waking. Coasts and marsh trails are marked with guidance on off lead walking, so our dog had an amazing time as well. We will definitely book Harbour View again. Thanks Clare for an amazing stay. The attractive Dorset waterside town of Christchurch is situated on the estuaries of the Rivers Stour and Avon, where they come together to form a magnificent natural harbour. Christchurch is a real gem of a town, offering visitors a wonderful and diverse holiday experience. The town centre boasts an array of charming shops and quality restaurants, whilst the 11th century castle ruins and the glorious Medieval priory, the longest parish church in the country, are well worth visiting. No trip to Christchurch would be complete unless you have strolled down to the pretty quayside, where you can enjoy refreshments whilst watching the ever changing boating scene, or you may wish to take one of the regular boat trips along the peaceful River Stour.
