“Had a lovely stay at Castle Cove.”

The house was beautifully clean and smelt very fresh when we arrived. The welcome basket was very much appreciated. The location is fantastic; the close proximity to such a lovely beach was wonderful. The only minor complaint was the single bed was a bit narrow for an adult, but this didn’t spoil our stay.

Thank you so much for these lovely comments and we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at Castle Cove View. We do understand that the single beds are a bit narrow for an adult, but we felt that space to move around the room was the priority (and the room is often used by children). We do hope to see you again. Property Owner

The property

A superbly located townhouse in the popular coastal town of Weymouth with views over the bay and within moments of a beautiful sandy beach.

The property is set over three floors with a generously sized, open plan living, kitchen dining area on the first floor, complete with patio doors and a Juliet balcony showcasing the splendid views towards Portland from the 2nd floor and filling the space with wonderful, natural light.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cater for your party, cooking up a delicious meal to enjoy together at the dining table before retiring to the comfortable sofas to watch a movie or begin a family fun games night.

The three bedrooms are split across the property, a twin room (2' 6" beds) and double can be found on the ground floor along with a bathroom consisting of a walk in shower, basin and WC, and a king size is located on the top floor boasting spectacular sea views and benefiting from an ensuite with bath, shower over, basin and WC.

The enclosed rear garden is accessed via the ground floor hallway and is a spacious patio area, perfect for a spot of alfresco dining or simply relaxing at the end of your day with a glass of wine whilst planning your next day’s itinerary.

Across the road from the property is a gated private communal garden with a well-kept lawned area with flower and tree borders, complete with a private slipway perfect for launching boats and paddles boards and providing direct access onto Castle Cove beach.

Just two-minutes’ walk from the front door is Sandsfoot Castle, an iconic ruin overlooking Portland harbour and surrounded by picturesque gardens where you can sit and relax while the children look for fish in the pretty pond.

The Rodwell Trail, formerly a railway line, is just moments away and provides a charming walking or cycling route into the town centre in one direction and to Portland in the other.

Weymouth town centre can be reached within an easy 20 minute stroll where you can discover many bars, cafes and restaurants where you can tuck into tasty fish and chips or a traditional Dorset cream tea.

The attractive Georgian esplanade is lined with tourist shops and attractions to keep the whole family entertained from donkey rides, pedalos and amusement arcades.

Wander along the old historic harbour to The Nothe Fort and enjoy a picnic in the glorious gardens or search for marine life in the shallow rock pools before treating yourself to a delicious ice cream from the café or kiosk.

About the location

Weymouth 2.1 miles; Dorchester 8.8 miles; Lyme Regis 28.5 miles.

Castle Cove is a firm favourite with locals, sitting alongside the Rodwell trail area, Castle Cove Beach is usually uncrowded, and offers safe bathing from its gently sloping shoreline. There are two main beach areas, Castle Cove, new steps to the beach opened early in 2019, and Sandsfoot beach, both with soft golden sand and the vibe of the best kept secret. Sandsfoot castle is just two minutes’ walk from the beach where you will find castle ruins, pretty, award-winning gardens and a small café, offering snacks, drinks and ice-creams. Accessed off Old Castle Road in Weymouth, this area is a real treat for those who want to be away from the buzz and bright lights of the traditional Weymouth Seafront, and yet close enough to venture there when they choose. When you are on the beach you could be forgiven for thinking you are miles from town, and yet you are only within easy reach of the old Harbour and access to Weymouth town centre. If you want to know where the locals would recommend you spend your beach days, then Castle Cove and Sandsfoot beaches are it.

Please note: approximately 50m up the road, building works are taking place and likely to continue in to 2023
