The Pines is a modern two-bedroom end of terrace property, situated in the highly sought-after residential area called "The Maltings", which was built on part of the former Devenish Brewery site. The location is an ideal holiday base to explore Weymouth's harbour and beach. The property lies within a three-minute walk of Newton's Cove with its fascinating rock pools that children love to explore at low tide. From here, you can walk all the way around Nothe Gardens and Old Fort, then back along the harbour and into town. The fashionable Hope Square and harbour area with its varied choice of eating venues is a four-minute walk from the house and leads you onwards on your way to the hub of Weymouth town centre and the Georgian promenade. The main sandy beach with its shallow waters invites young children to splash around and make sandcastles while the sea gently laps on the soft golden shore.
Weymouth offers entertainment for all ages; the Pavilion features shows during the summer season and the beach with its various attractions will keep your children amused from dawn to dusk.
This well-presented property has the advantage of a large patio and stepped garden area (toddlers will require supervision) and is perfect for families, couples or those with pets due to the rear garden being fully enclosed. Ascend six steps to the delightful deck and spend some time just sitting and relaxing or reading a book in this suntrap spot.
The ground floor living space is very comfortable, you can relax on the sofa after a long day's exploring, and open the patio doors to the garden whilst listening to the birds singing outside. Rustle up a delicious meal in the adjoining kitchen, which could be eaten alfresco on the patio table and chairs.
Upstairs, the master bedroom with king size bed looks out over the peaceful rear garden, and boasts a TV in this calm, light space.
It's a lovely holiday home for families with children and/or pets to enjoy.

In a good spit deal with a field at the back for a short walk with the dog before heading into weymouth.
House was clean, fully stocked with kitchen equipment, washing up liquid etc. The welcome gifts were a nice touch. If we came back to weymouth would stay at the pines again

We took our border collie with us and although the "garden" is hard paved throughout there was an alley next door that ran uphill to a green space about 200mtrs above us. A brilliant, expensive welcome pack greeted us on arrival, thank you. But then why oh why did you furnish the toilet with the cheapest most thin and nasty toilet paper? Rant over! I would still thoroughly recommend the Pines.
Hello, thank you for your recommendation and feedback. As owners, we provide the welcome hamper but it is the Agency that provides the toilet roll as part of their cleaning package so we have no control over this. We know that the Agency also reads this feedback so hopefully they will look to improve the toilet roll contract!!!
The pines was all we'd hoped for in a little home from home,it was very cosy,spotlessly clean, and all the facilities you would need for a holiday, we would gladly book again.

Everything written about the accommodation is correct clean tidy & all the utilities were in good working order.
Everyone has there own idea of what's comfy to them. We just found the bed's a bit to soft & the sofa's a bit ridged for our liking. But these aren't to take anything away from this property.
Booked over Christmas and delighted with welcoming Christmas tree and box of treats.

We have stayed at the pines in weymouth for a number of years although we had a pleasant stay due to the previous guests the owner had to clean carpets and chairs we also had to vacuum the chairs but it didn't spoil our holiday and will be back in 3weeks time thanks for letting us stay really appreciated

Lovely property in a quiet area that’s close to the harbour
The Pines is a lovely comfortable house,a 5 minute walk to shops pubs and harbour.
It has a well stocked kitchen if you want to cook and good reastraunts nearby if you dont. We brought our dog with us and the safe enclosed garden was perfect for him. We enjoyed our stay at The Pines and Weymouth so much we have booked again for next year. Becky

We had a perfect stay at the pines, it was our second time so we new what to expect and the house was as good this time as before everything you need, home from home and close to the town but far enough away to be quite, just perfect.

This is our second visit to this property,we enjoyed our stay,it is a shame that the front of the property doesn't look better, bins and recycling,not a pretty sight.
Lovely property, offering everything you need for a holiday.
Well situated with short walk to harbour and other amenities close by. The only downside is the surrounding paths, with a lot of weeds making the area look very unkempt, whereas the property was perfect.

We had a lovely stay at the pines We holiday every year in Weymouth & stay in a different home every time but we would definitely stay here again well equipped, lovely garden , area perfect for dog walks, the hamper & fresh milk in the fridge was a lovely surprise we normally stay on the harbour but parking is a real issue now & limited dog friendly stays so The Maltings is a fab alternative so close to everything , private parking was a real bonus especially as my elderly Mum holidays with us , we will definitely stay again
Nice location,well equipped.
The property was adequate.
The sofa's and mattress were very uncomfortable. The shelf in the bathroom cabinet fell out when the door was opened so was unable to use. The plug in the sink in the bathroom lets the water drain away before being able to use. Could not get most TV channels despite retuning.

This is our second stay in this gorgeous house, home from home.
We loved the white make over - felt even bigger, much cleaner looking and very spacious. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather which of course makes all the difference but being in our 60’s we like to stay home at night and watch TV and feeling home from home is what we love. Love the decking too. Garden perfect for my toy poodles, they loved the different heights, steps and enjoyed sleeping in the shade under the table. The Pines was an excellent accommodation.
Modern, clean , spacious and very well equipped. Plenty of storage space. The Maltings was a really peaceful area that felt very safe even after dark. It was very close to the harbour, the beaches and the fort. Only slight criticism was the towel rail in bathroom didn’t work which meant towels couldn’t be dried and the sink plug in bathroom was perished and wouldn’t work without getting stuck in the hole. Otherwise a brilliant place to stay.We loved it and would definitely stay there again

The new white decor is great and the garden is a now a treat to be in. We have already booked for a fifth visit in 2023!!

Don't use the bathroom door handle just push the door to close it and pull it open.
The handle doesn't work and it's a bit worrying when the door gets stuck. Other than that everything else good.
This is the third stay at the pine’s and as expected it was clean,comfortable, All the facilities you need,just a couple of faults the latch on the bathroom door is sticking and found it difficult to get out once or twice,this could be quite frightening for a child or older adult,and the shower although it works very well it’s very noisy.
But all in all a great place to stay with amenities a short walk away.Definitely be back in the future.

Property was not clean on arrival - late at night.
We attempted to clean the next day but the Henry the hoover was rubbish- resorted to dust pan & brush. Could not find cot immediately - had a tired young child who we were frantically trying to get to bed. Washing machine is broken - makes loud banging noises during spin cycle, so much so we thought something had been thrown at the exterior of the house!!! Should be highlighted that there is only a shower, not a bath in property- not really suitable for very young children.
As owners, we are very sorry to learn that the property was not clean on arrival. We have checked with Dream Cottages and they say that the property had been cleaned and a checker had been in to verify this prior to your arrival. They assure us that had you reported any cleaning issues to them they would have sent someone back to attend to anything you were not happy with, their office is only a very short walk away although we do appreciate you arrived late at night. I do not understand why the Henry Hoover was not any good, I personally changed the bag and filter on it and used it myself only very recently and it was working perfectly, I will check it again though obviously. There is a power boost switch on the Hoover and wonder if you hadn't noticed this. With regards to the washing machine, if the load is uneven then this does make the machine rock and creates a disconcerting noise during a spin, this unfortunately is normal but again I will check there is nothing more serious going on. I have queried why the cot was not put out for your arrival, Dream says that they do not get cots out and assemble them due to health and safety reasons. It is stored in plain sight in the cupboard in the twin bedroom so we hope other guests will not find it difficult to locate on arrival. We have checked the property description and nowhere does it mention there being a bath in the property, it clearly states shower room with shower only again we are sorry if you were expecting there to be a bath there for your use. Once again we are sorry that you had any cause for complaint/concern with your stay at The Pines.
The cottage was top class, looked brand new inside and out, and had every facility that anyone would need, it was comfortable and spacious inside and had a nice patio and furniture outside plus your own parking space.
Its also very close to all amenities. I would recommend a hand rail to the front of the cottage.
We had a very nice stay at the Pines, it was spotlessly clean, it has recently been refurbished, everything is fresh and bright, garden is very pleasant.

Absolutely great stay at The Pines.
The property was very clean and tidy so great thanks to the cleaning team. The property owners have obviously worked hard on many updates to the property and listened to feedback. There is now a new sink in the bathroom, more practical, new fencing to the garden which makes it more secure for dogs, lovely patio area for sitting out with lovely bench, even car parking space has had the bushes cut back to make getting into parking space easier. The whole house looks as though it’s been freshly painted such a joy to be able to stay in this property. The bonus of course is that it’s in such a central location and walking distance to all amenities. This is the second time of staying here and we will be booking again, can’t recommend the property high enough.
We have stayed here before said it was great but could have done with a washing line and a hose to clean up after dog .

My number one holiday company I use dream Cottages’s at least twice a year because I know I can rely on the information given to be correct.
We enjoyed a comfortable stay in the cottage, location was great and it was well equipped.
Outside space was lovely to have, particularly as we were lucky with the weather. Also very handy to have parking. Having a smart TV in the living room was useful. As others have commented, the mattresses need replacing, very lumpy and past their sell by date. We did not have a dog and whilst we appreciate it is a dog friendly property and knew this before we booked, there was a lot of dog hair on the carpet which was not ideal for us as we had a toddler running around. Probably needs a more heavy duty vacuum cleaner, the vacuum cleaner in the property was quite old and suction not great.
Thank you for your valuable feedback, so pleased you had a lovely holiday. The property has now undergone comprehensive refurbishment for Summer 2022 which includes all beds having been replaced with new ones. With regard to the dog hairs you mentioned, there is only one rug in the lounge, this is now a new one as part of the refurbishment, which we hope will be easier for the cleaner to vacuum. We hope that people will not allow their dogs to go upstairs. The vacuum cleaner has a boost button on it, which can be pressed to boost the suction power.
Stayed at the pines many times,the bed mattresses are ready for a change badly stained and worn out.

Thank you for your valuable feedback, and although it was a while ago, we have taken your comment on board. We have now carried out an extensive refurbishment of The Pines, which includes all beds and mattresses being replaced for new ones, together with new sink in the bathroom, new oven in the kitchen and the whole house has been re-painted in white.
We have stayed in weymouth for a number of years if you have got the weather it's a great place to unwind but with what's going on with the virus thing's are so different but you just have to get on with it had a very enjoyable time
Very pleased with the house.
Both my husband and myself were really pleased with the size and its modern outlook. There is a lovely patio to sit if you want alfresco eating. Great location as only 5 mins walk to the harbour and pubs. Also there is a lovely park a few minutes away where you can walk to an old fort. This pathway skirts around to the harbour. We had a couple of items missing in the house and when reported it was rectified straight away. No complaints at all. Would not hesitate to stay again.
Great cottage in a very convenient location to Weymouth Beach or Harbour and Town, car not required as all within walking distance.
Cottage very well equipped with everything you will need and very clean. Dog well catered for as local park within walking distance for their early morning exercise. We were very pleased with the cottage and would highly recommend a stay there.
Lovely accommodation located in a great place to enjoy Weymouth.
Really clean and comfortable, only feedback to improve would be to update the WIFi details as the book was out of date and had to get details from the hub. Also there were no recycling facilities otherwise a fantastic stay and would definitely stay at the property again.
When we have bad weather like this week the TV could be updated and receive all freeview channels.
The bathroom sink really needs replacing. But once again we had a fantastic holiday. Booked again for 2021 can't wait

Supplying a washing machine but no where to dry They would benefit from a washing line Allowing dogs which is great but a hose pipe would be beneficial for a good clean up
The thing that spoils the property is the front garden's vegetations which makes the property dark blocking most of the front windows.
Thank you for your feedback, and although it was some time ago, we just wanted you to know that all the vegetation in the front garden has now been trimmed back, as part of the big refurbishment of the property ready for Summer 2022. There are just a few plants left, with stones covering the rest of the front area, so it is now much lighter.
Lovely stay power shower was great
The bathroom sink needs replacing as water will not stay in bowl.
Reported this 2019. Needs out side washing line struggled getting clothes dry. Hair dryer in main bedroom not working found out on last day. Apart from this fabulous place to stay highly recommend
We had a fantastic holiday.
The accommodation was 'spot on' and the location for us as a family, was perfect. We were able to wonder into the harbour and a short walk around to the dog friendly part of Weymouth Beach.
All was good, apart from two little things the bathroom sink took too long to drain away.
Would be nice to have a washing line in the garden.
We arrived late due to me working but when we got there the heating was on and lovely gifts were left which was fantastic !
It was lovely and clean and all instructions of everything was very clear. The place itself was clean and very cosy. We took our little dog too and he loved it . It was close to all the amenities that we needed which was great too. The owners had left us a Christmas card which was a lovely touch . I give this place a 10 out of 10 for everything and would defently come back again . I love weymouth and this made my holiday one to remember. Thank you very much !!!

Although we have stayed at the pines many times before when we arrived we had no hot water on Sunday we got up to have a shower only one out four staying there could have a shower we did report it and the manager at your office did come to the pines but the water started to get hot again but next day same again again no hot water a nother manager came out couldn't find out whywe couldn't get hot water so we wated all day for maintenance to come out to see what was wrong to find out the boiler had tripped also l think the garden needs some attention bet overgrown but overall had a really good hoilday

Although this review was some time ago, we just would like you and future guests to know that the bay for The Pines, No 79, has been re-marked. Thank you for recommending the property, we have just carried out a very thorough refurbishment, including garden at the front being trimmed back and laid to stones, the front step has been raised to make it easier to get into the house, the back garden has been completely enclosed with new fencing, decking re-varnished, the house has been painted white throughout amongst other things.
The cooker is not the best, electric and very, very slow.
The sink in the bathroom is very modern but not very practical and the water flow is very weak. On the plus side, the cottage was very tidy and comfortable, in a very quiet area and perfectly situated for our stay. We would certainly stay here again.
Although this review was a couple of years ago, just so you and future guests know, we have carried out a big refurbishment of the house in time for Summer 2022. As part of that, the cooker has been replaced for a new one, as has the sink in the bathroom.
Had a great holiday as usual with Dream Cottages. Customer service from the people on the phone and in the office is always excellent and helpful. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and had a well stocked kitchen in terms of cutlery and crockery etc. Thankyou
We have stayed at this property for several years running now and seemingly each year we return the owners have made improvements. The pines is in a great location close enough to walk to town but far enough away to be peaceful. There is plenty of towels and bedding supplied and the kitchen is well stocked.

Couldn't fault the property. This is our second time at this property. It is in a good location. The property was very comforatble and was everything we needed.
The pines has had an upgrade since we last stayed there and it is much improved. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen revamped and the addition of WiFi was excellent.
Of all the Dream cottages we have stayed in, this by far the best, it was well equipped (although we did not do any cooking). but it was very comfortable, seating and bedding. will certainly rebook this again.
Never stayed in a house before. Usually have a log cabin or a chalet. It was excellent. Really clean modern and large. Had every thing you could want. Easy walking distance from harbour. Would diffentely use Dream Cottages again. Stayed July 2015

A lovely holiday rental property. Everything we needed. Well equipped. Tucked away in a private/quiet location - yet only 5 minutes away from the harbour. Felt really comfortable there. The dog liked it too. So pleased with it - we will be returning in November for another week.
This is a beautiful house in a very quiet cul-de-sac,perfect for our needs. We have stayed in a few cottages and this meets the highest of standards that we have come to expect from Dream cottages.
Really enjoyed our second stay at The Pines at the beginning of November. We like the additional space downstairs. Feels like a home and not a holiday rental property. Would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet location which is minutes from the harbour. Always recommend Dream Cottages to friends travelling to this part of UK.
