Safe Harbour

This lovely accommodation is, we all believe, situated in the best location in Weymouth.

We all really look forward to returning every year and have already booked for next year. I cannot recommend this holiday home highly enough, you will not be disappointed if you book it yourself.

Have now been to this property several times , brilliant location and hose as always in immaculate condition.

What a lovely place to stay!

The cottage location is perfect. Plenty of opportunity to watch the world go by from the comfort of amazing window seats. Only a short walk to shopping and beach this was perfect for our young family. However, we feel this property is not safe for toddlers as there was only one stair gate at the bottom of the staircase. The kitchen facilities were just perfect. Unfortunately, we had an infestation of woodlice and ants. Probably coming from the courtyard that had not been swept up all winter! Just a couple of gripes but we had a really wonderful week overall.

The owners always go above and beyond to make staying here an absolutely joy, and after the latest refurbishments and redecoration everything was exceptionally welcoming, clean and beautifully presented. We've always loved sitting at the bay window watching the world go by and the uniquely stunning 180 degree view of the harbour, the property's biggest USP, so we have to admit to feeling a little disappointed that the new window seat in the first floor sitting room made this less easy or comfortable to do. But this was honestly the only niggle, and otherwise everything was wonderfully comfortable, with really everything we could possibly need. And we are always left feeling so appreciative and thankful to be able stay in such a beautiful 'home from home' in the loveliest setting in Weymouth. So thank you! (PS. this time we walked twice along the beach and promenade as far as 'Cafe Oasis' at Bowleaze Cove - highly recommended to anyone up for a 5 mile round trip of easy walking, and the food was very good.)

Our stay was for Christmas 2025.

We were able to book 10 nights arriving on the 20th which was brilliant . We booked through Dream Cottages which are part of Sykes. Have to say any queries were dealt with quite quickly. The house is in the most amazing position full views, house equipment was okay everything, definitely more lamps needed through the living areas, as it was for Christmas I’d hoped for more of a festive theme, a lovely tree down stairs in the dining room and a slim pop up tree with battery lights in the living room a little bit underwhelming. Two small TV’s, one in the dining room/kitchen and another same size TV in the living room, a bigger tv is needed in the living room. As this was a pet friendly house we expected some evidence of our four legged friends which in all fairness there was hardly any, the carpet does need a good clean it’s really stained in places. None of the above would impact us from staying again.

Location is fantastic and very clean though carpets was showing there age and a couple of cracked glass panels Never needed to go out in my car all week, love it here and will be back

We’ve visited Weymouth four times before, staying in various properties, but Safe Harbour has been our favourite by far.

The location couldn’t be better, with stunning views right over the harbour and the house itself is spotless, spacious and perfect for a family stay. The sitting room and kitchen gave us plenty of room to relax and enjoy our time together. We loved it so much that we’ve already booked again for next year! Highly recommended for anyone planning a trip to Weymouth.

Great accommodation, great location and so close to all the facilities that you could wish for. Throw in wonderful weather for a week and you have the best holiday that you could wish for. Next year can't come round fast enough for all of us.

A lovely Georgian harbour house in the centre of Weymouth, with the most wonderful view we've ever had in a holiday cottage - the yachts and the fishing boats and the old bridge and the lights on the water at night are really enchanting - you can spend hours just watching the world go by.

Everything was exceptionally clean and well-ordered - everything you need in the kitchen and laundry room, the beds were very comfortable and the showers really strong and hot. As a writer and historian, I was really interested in the history of the house, so looked up the old census returns, and it used to be a grocers in the 19th and early 20th centuries. In the Edwardian period, The owner lived above the shop with lots of daughters, so always a busy and lively place! We will definitely come back on our next Weymouth holiday.

10 out of 10 for everything! Views are incredible from all floors. Location is perfect to enjoy the Harbour, Beach & Town. Comfortable furnishings Spotlessly clean. Couldn't ask for more!

We all love this, our " holiday home ".

This was our first winter break here and it did not disappoint. We were pleasantly surprised by the nice decorations, it was a lovely surprise. Lovely accommodation, lovely location and even the weather was kind to us. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

A number of small points .

Two sets of keys would have been useful , particularly if there is more than one couple staying Loo paper very cheap and thin Kitchen roll would have been useful as there were no napkins Didn’t see any drinks mats Would have liked to be able to separate out the various recycling elements , putting everything into one bin felt very anti environment Maybe have olive oil/ vegetable oil left in the house Hamper was lovely Very well stocked cutlery and crockery , overall it was lovely. Great location .

Had a problem with over flowing shower tray in middle floor bathroom causing water to seep through ceiling onto bottom floor .

Reading some of the reviews I can see this is an ongoing problem . Informed dream cottages maintenance man who arrived to sorted the problem out . Cooker didn’t seem that efficient as some of the burners on hob would not say lit this and the oven seemed to take for ever to cook food .

Love this house already booked again for next year If possible please have two full sets of keys for front door (only one chubb key)

Having lost my wife between booking and staying this was the perfect place to reflect on our 40 years together.

Very clean,peaceful and close by to everything you could want. Would most definitely return thank you.

Lovely property and a perfect location.

Everything you need on your doorstep. We tried many pubs but our favourite was the Red Lion in Hope Square. Great fish tacos! and great, friendly staff. We all fell a little bit in love with the house and would certainly return. The welcome hamper on arrival was a lovely touch too.

This is 3rd time we have now stayed in this holiday home.

Location is perfect. Kitchen and main bathroom fabulous. Do feel it does now need a bit of freshening up though in other parts of property although property is clean. Have stayed in various properties in Weymouth but this is our favourite by far and we will be back again….

We so appreciated another fabulous stay at Safe Harbour (as well as the very thoughtful welcome pack from Dorset Happy Hamper).

Even with the bridge closed this month we managed to entertain ourselves with watching the world go by from the sitting room window, and we enjoyed some wonderful local walks and meals out at Crustacean and Rockfish. The only thing we could possibly request is a large non-metallic spoon or stirrer for when using the Tefal wok, as we couldn't find one. Otherwise there was (as always) everything we could possibly need. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cottage with us again - we are already counting the days until our (fourth!) stay in 2023!

Absolutely loved staying at Safe Harbour.

The location was perfect, and the view over the harbour was amazing both day and night, even in the rain! We didn’t have to drive anywhere as everything we needed was within walking distance, the beach, Nothe Fort, the high street, and pubs were all within a few minutes walk, which is good when you’ve got a dog. Lots of lovely houses and history too. The property was spotlessly clean with a delightful hamper with the most important items needed on arrival inside….tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits…those are the most important items after a long drive in my opinion. I would highly recommend Safe Harbour.

Fab cottage, plenty of space and amazing harbour views, could do with two compfy chairs in the living room window, to take advantage of the amazing view.

..Dream Cottage staff in Brewers Quay office are extremely helpful and efficient, and so are the maintenance men, who sorted the wifi within minutes of asking! 10/10 all round..Many thanks and we have of course booked for next year!

We stay year after year at Safe Harbour - it's a beautiful house, in gorgeous condition, in a fantastic position on the Harbour.

The house feels like a home from home, my two boys love going to "the Blue House", and the fact that we can take our dog just makes it absolute perfection. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Weymouth. See you next year "Blue House"

Excellent standard throughout.

The location is perfect for all that Weymouth has to offer. If there is a negative, the dockside can be noisy,evening and early morning. This accepted it is a great place to stay.

What a beautiful house this would be my dream to own safe harbour I loved everything about it, in the centre of activities or a short walk to open space and quietness up at Nothes Fort.

The house is very comfy and spacious, loved that it still has a court yard to sit in and not build on like some others along the same road. I would defiantly rent this property again

We fell in love with the little blue house !

It was perfect in every way . The location was absolutely stunning with an ever changing canvas outside our windows ! The accommodation was clean ,tidy and nautical ! It had everything we needed in there. The beds were amazingly comfy too ! Highly recommended and I would love to stay again ! Thankyou .

We were blessed with good weather and, when we could manage to tear ourselves away from the spectacular views of the harbour from the sitting room bay window, we enjoyed some wonderful long walks and meals out at local restaurants - and can't wait to come back again!

Great house, very clean, great location only drawback was the noise from outside in front bedroom!

Unfortunately the WiFi wasn’t working, the first floor shower was dirty and the first floor bed was extremely uncomfortable- it sags severely in the middle making it very hard to sleep in/on.

Was a shame there was no iron or board at the property. We loved being so central and being able to watch the boats and people go by.

Safe Harbour was so lovely and warm when we arrived after storm Arwen.

There are no complaints at all. It was home from home. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected dental problem we had to leave a day early to attend an emergency dental appointment and from that we did not make an entry in the visitors book.

We had a wonderful time.

Thank you and we will definitely be coming back. The weather, fortunately, was mild for this time of the year, but even if there had been rain, there was always something to do or watch. It was perfect for us.

Wouldn’t change anything apart from bed as.

We’re so soft it felt like I was going to roll of the bed.

The house is home from home with everything you need and the view is amazing.

Only let down slightly by one shower not working and not being repaired during the week.

We also asked for the double beds to be split prior to our arrival, which was not carried out until after we arrived and telephoned.

I spend a week at Safe Harbour with my Husband & 2 of our friends.

The location was amazing, right along the quayside of the harbour & very convenient for eating out, shopping, boat trips, the beach & all within easy walking distance. There are also many wonderful places to visit by easy car journeys. It was lovely to sit in the downstairs window-seat & watch all the people, boats as well as the bridge bring raised & lowered. The property was beautifully appointed, furnished tastefully & there was everything you could possibly need for a fantastic holiday let. I can’t recommend it enough & we will definitely be returning.

Beautifully positioned on the harbour side the first floor sitting room offers a wonderful view.

We have visited this property for a number of years as it fits the bill perfectly for a grown up family of 6 and a dog.

Lovely house in a brilliant location , it was really lovely to be able to look out at all the activity in and around the harbour .

The only thing that my family would have preferred , would have been to have a television in the bedrooms rather than the dining room. We will definitely try to book Safe Harbour again in the future .

We were absolutely delighted with the standard of Safe Harbour and couldn’t have asked for a better holiday rental - everything had been thought of to make our stay comfortable.

Our only gripe is with the parking- if we went out during the day we had to queue to get a parking space in the Nothe car park. I was concerned about this before we went and on checking with your office was assured that in all of ten years they’d never known it to be full !!! Well - that was definitely not the case. Also - an admin error was the original key code we were given (and the one I had noted) was not the same as the one given out in later blurb. Frustratingly we had to go to Dream Cottages offices to sort it out before we were able to enter cottage.

Cleanliness not as good as previously experienced cob webs in evidence in some places.

Contact experience was not as good as when we have previously spoken directly to Dream Cottage personnel, telephone experience with Sykes was disappointing.

Excellent location great for beach and all local facilities.

We have stayed in a number of dream cottages properties which have all been of a high standard, however, this was the best one to date and we hope to return in the future. The property contained everything we needed and more and I would recommend it to any family. Stayed Dec/Jan 2015

Our week's stay in Safe Harbour was perfect. The house was everything we could have wished for. We were on holiday with our daughter and son-in-law and their five month old baby so it was lovely to have a "home from home" . The location was great. We stayed last year at The Ferryman so we knew we wanted to be in the old harbour area again.
