    Mrs Briggs

“The property description is incorrect - it says one of the bedrooms has a king-sized bed which was important for us when we booked as my husband is 6ft 5" but in fact the bed is only queen sized (5ft wide) not king-sized (6ft wide) - it also had a very hard mattress which was therefore uncomfortable for us (however I do appreciate that mattress firmness is a personal preference).”

I also note that the curtains in the main bedroom did little to keep the light out - with the town lifting bridge so close and multiple street lights on all night the curtains did little to darken the room at night only providing privacy and as a consequence I had to go out and buy a sleep eye mask to use all week. The apartment could also have been cleaned better with a large clump of hair on arrival on a bedroom floor and a used plaster in a bowl of pot pourrii. The location was however great.

The property

Harbourside Apartment is part of an up-market development right on the harbourside by the town bridge in Weymouth.

The apartment is airy and furnished to a high standard offering very comfortable accommodation for all ages as it can be accessed via a lift or stairs.

The open plan living kitchen dining room offers wonderful views over the harbour and town bridge and each of the two bedrooms offers great views, so you can while away many an hour gazing out at the views and relaxing with a drink.

Located right in the hustle and bustle of the lively town centre, you are in walking distance to a variety of eating places; a la carte dining on the harbourside, Italian cuisine, fresh seafood or good old-fashioned fish and chips - all are available within a few minutes’ walk.

Weymouth's Georgian seafront with its golden sands and shallow waters is just a short stroll away or why not just sit with a glass of wine as the sun sets and enjoy watching the passing boats from your balcony.

In the height of summer, the bridge opens every two hours during the day to allow the boats to pass in and out of the harbour, a spectacle to behold for adults and children alike.

With so much on the doorstep you could be forgiven for not venturing further afield, but if you do, don’t forget to visit, Portland Bill, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door Chesil Beach, all spectacular in their own right.

This apartment is perfect for a couples retreat or two couples to come and enjoy a holiday together.

About the location

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurant’s café and bars making it a vibrant area where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked in the harbourside streets here you will find original Tudor harbour buildings estimated to have built 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible facts and artefacts, there is more to this seaside town than meets the eye. The harbour is home to the lifting bridge where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge into the town with it’s winding streets of boutique shops and onto the seafront Esplanade and beach. Brewers Quay is a much loved location in Weymouth.
