Anvil House

Anvil House was spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable, with private parking area nearby.

Situated in a quiet housing estate only a couple of minutes walk from cliff top sea views and a quiet bay with gardens. We enjoyed our four night stay there. Only slight problems were that leaking shower wasn't fixed (it had been reported previously, so not their fault) and TV and DVD players didn't always work. Small terrace garden at the back was OK, but would have been nice to have some grass!

Appreciated the two fans as we were holidaying in a heatwave. Excellent location for harbour, beach and town. Would stay at this property again

In a quiet position.

Pleased has x2 parking spaces. Close to Hope Square. Needs a full length mirror. The mirrors were positioned too high up to be of any use unless you're super tall. Hooks on back of bathroom and bedroom doors would be handy. Mattress very hard and bed frame creaks with every move doesn't give peaceful sleep. 2 fans thoughtfully provided. Property very clean and furnished with good selection of kitchen utensils.

The property had everything and more that we could possibly need.

It is a few minutes from the harbour and facilities. The only downside is the double bed which was extremely uncomfortable as one of the previous reviews had stated This is such a shame as it would put me off booking next time. Thank you.

Property just right for my daughter and myself well equipped just a couple of things not right but rectified quickly when reported.

Pictures and Mirrors placed to high just about see the top of our heads. Furniture very low and not comfortable deep steps to the back of property. Apart from that we had a fabulous week.

Perfect in every way.

Excellent location with only a short walk to the harbour, the town, and local attractions such as Newton's Cove and Nothe Fort. Property was clean and well appointed. Off road parking with access via the rear entrance was a real winner.

A comfortable and clean property within easy access to the harbour and town and all that they have to offer, upon arrival at the property there were a couple of table lights left on which gave a cosy appearance to the place, this was a good touch, also the welcoming pack was a nice addition.

Great location, very well equipped, welcome pack great touch.

The only downside for us was the bed mattress so uncomfortable.

Lovely stay in Anvil Cottage.

This accommodation is in a great location with the harbour being a short walk away. We found it clean with almost everything we needed. Car parking was a great bonus. The welcome pack was much appreciated.

Really good stay and location only personal recommendation is kitchen and laundry room requires blinds for privacy.

Very quiet. By Newton's Cove/Nothe/The Harbour. Great to have a parking space. Thanks for the hamper! Found the photos of the house slightly deceiving as the bathroom is very tight and the bedroom with single beds and the main bedroom is very tight. There is hardly any floor space. Found the bathroom dirty. Floor, basin and bath not clean. Shower pole fell off wall and shower was so powerful it soaked floor and ran out after five minutes which wasn't great after swimming in the sea. It took ages to heat up for the next person to have a shower. There was only one tiny shelf in the bathroom. More shelves are needed. Heated towel rail only worked when heating was on. No window in bathroom. No chest of drawers or storage in single beds room. All the storage is in the main room. Need more hangers in main bedroom. No leads for PS3 in lounge. Everything is wooden. Not practical in case of spillage. Didn't see pasta bowls or dishwasher tablets in kitchen. Would have been helpful to have had a list of what you have in the kitchen. Previous reviewer requested pasta bowls so thought there weren't any. No washing manual. No desert spoons only soup spoons. Hot water runs out very quickly. Utility room reeks of mould! Loose paving slab in garden.

Great property and for us a perfect location, away from the crowds but in walking distance of everything we needed.

The only thing we would have liked was pasta bowls!

The happy hamper was a nice touch but a bit pointless as the coffee company failed to respond when I asked where I could buy some.

The property is well situated to walk onto Weymouth town or walk round the harbour and fort.

The property is very clean with two comfortable bedrooms. A small but comfortable living room and spacious kitchen. There is also a utility room that goes outside to the garden . We had a wonderful week there and would back quite happily

It was perfect, everything you could think of was provided.

We were blessed with a week of glorious weather and so made good use of the garden furniture. The property was a few minutes walk from the Old Harbour and all its pubs and restaurants. The biggest bonus with this property is the parking.

We really enjoyed our stay.

The house is very clean, warm and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more. It's in such a great location, convenient for restaurants and bars in Brewers Quay and only a short walk into the town and the beach. We loved the fact there was allocated parking too. We will definitely be back!

Anvil House is a favourite of mine it’s probably my third stay it’s got everything you could possibly need for a home from home experience it’s close to all amenities including the lovely Nothe gardens,will definitely recommend and will be returning next year,I’m a very happy customer thank you.

Anvil House is a lovely property in a great location.

It is very quiet, but only minutes away from the lovely harbour and even closer to the coast path going west towards Portland.The welcome pack was an unexpected and delightful surprise.

We found Anvil House to be supplied with everything we could want, from equipment and utensils to furniture and bedding, with information on "how-to-use", "where-to-go" and "what-to-do",both for indoors and out.

The "Welcome" items were much appreciated, as were the spacious wardrobes which easily accommodated all our clothes and luggage. The interior has been finished to a high standard (and quite recently, to judge from appearances). The allocated parking space was generous and convenient to hand, and the house is within moderate walking distance of shops and supermarkets, and an easy stroll to the Nothe Fort one way and to riverside pubs in the other. We enjoyed the experience and rate it the best venue we have come across in several years of using this holiday style.

I have pleasure leaving feedback for this property it has absolutely everything you need for the perfect holiday,clean comfortable and all within walking distance to the Nothe gardens,fort,harbour and Beach.

I have stayed at Anvil before and was so pleased to see they had provided a rotary line in the garden but unfortunately I couldn’t get it to push up beyond the catch

There was everything and more than we needed to make our stay comfortable, so close to the sea and so close to public transport that we used buses and trains to get around, only used our car a couple of times!! Would highly recommend Anvil House

Couldn't fault anything, very quiet neighbourhood with an easy walk into the harbour and town.

Car parking was a bonus and we used public transport to visit Dorchester, Bridport, Portland, Poole and of course we enjoyed the many walks around Weymouth.

Well equipped and comfortable cottage, in a prime location, and the welcome pack was a lovely touch.

Anvil House is a convenient location for our walking holidays.

The property really requires an outdoor washing line as the small airing racks provided are inadequate for drying swimwear, swim towels, wet raincoats and over-trousers etc. The racks are too small and unstable to use outdoors and the tumble drier is inappropriate for such items. Apart from this significant problem, the property is comfortable and well equipped. The 'Happy Hamper' and pint of milk received on arrival were lovely. Thank you. The team at Dream Cottages were very quick to sort out the rapidly dripping kitchen tap that we reported on arrival.

We loved the soundproofing, and never heard any noise from either side.

Nor was there any traffic noise or rowdy behaviour in the area. The house was well appointed and the location for beach, town, and harbour was excellent. The furnishings and curtains were good, and plenty of coat-hangers too! The range and quality of equipment provided were very good. One negative was lack of shelves and storage space generally. Although the house was small, some shelves and/or bigger drawers/cupboards for clothes, toiletries etc. would have been useful, especially in the bathroom.

This was a lovely well equipped property in a quiet location and just a two minute walk to Hope square and Weymouth harbour.

Initially we had some problems with the TV not working, however, this was very quickly and efficiently resolved. We would like to thank the hamper company for their delicious provisions.

We will definitely be back the location is so good for us as getting on in years . So close to hope square and harbour and if the legs were to tired used the ferryman to get across to beach side loved it . Only one thing would add for comfort is the mattress in twin room could do with topper like the double everything else great thank you

The house was of a high standard, clean and comfortable.

It's also in a very good spot for access to the coastal path and an easy walk to shops, restaurants and of course the beach

Everything was in very good order, the locks were a bit awkward on the front and back doors but otherwise everything went very well.

The house was warm and cosy (the weather could have been better but we cant blame you for that!). Altogether we had a nice break. Thanks.

Have booked again for next year but REALY COULD DO WITH AN OUTDOOR WASHING LINE OR ROTARY LINE please. We were very worried on arrival to find the key safe left open and house keys falling out. Reported this immediately to the nearby Dreams office as anyone could have gained access. Found some food left in kitchen cupboards and peanuts dropped on the lounge floor, clearly not noticed by the cleaner!

Excellent place to stay.

Very comfortable, clean and tidy. Everything you need for a stay. Just one problem for us was that we are not familiar with tumble driers and there were only very basic instructions apparently available. Therefore we were reluctant to use that facility which was a shame.

No mention of 2nd allocated parking space

.only a 5min walk into the bussiling Hope square area with its restaurants and pubs and into the quayside. ,another 5mins and your in the town centre which is adjacent to the beach... we would not hesitate to return to Anvil House in the future

Anvil House is a nicely positioned compact dwelling with two dedicated parking spaces.

Short walk to the quay and thence over the town bridge and into the town with the beach and season not too far off. I have to declare an interest here as I just love Weymouth and have stayed in various of both sykes and dream cottages houses.

Spotlessly clean property. Very impressive. Beautiful coastal walks from the doorstep. Convenient parking off road.

The settee was very uncomfortable and cold.

The house was cold and needed tea strainer and oven gloves. The bedroom net curtain kept falling down. The main bedroom smelt bad. The area was really run down and the path closed and brewers Quay decapitated. Really disappointing and should have been mentioned in listing. The house was cold small and dark. No blind on kitchen door so not private and garden gate didn't feel safe or private. No washing line. Trailer parked by my vehicle and I heard them shout your going to hit it. So had to go and ask them to be careful and move vehicle as they needed to access house there this went on for 2 days so had to move van which was inconvenient and cost money. Tv kept pixalating as scart lead loose and limited channels. Dusty and dated in general. Disappointed.

We had a lovely stay in a delightful house.

Excellent location and comfortable property. The grandkids particularly appreciated the crabbing kit which was put to good use thankyou. Only suggestion might be a few more plates .... would happily return.

Just right for our holiday. Quiet location.

We expected there to be anti bacterial sprays and alcohol gel in the property as there had been in the house we rented on Anglesey in August (booked through you).

This was a minor but important point considering the present situation.

Supplementary heating would be good in the wet and windy Autumn days that we had, as the central heating was switched off during the “summer season” .

Also the towel rail should be on a separate heating circuit to the central heating as it only heated up when the central heating was switched on in the winter time. Otherwise it was in a good location near the town and well equipped.

Absolutely fantastic location and really well equipped holiday house.

My mum, daughter and I had a wonderful week here. Our only gripe was the cleanliness. Having spent what we felt was a lot of money on the accommodation we ended up cleaning the property and washing up much of the crockery before we fully unpacked. The tumble drier had not been emptied of water and fluff. After we’d cleaned however the accommodation exceeded expectations and I would recommend this property as the pros greatly outweighed the teething problems.

Wonderful home with a really good standard of equipment, so close ti everything we had the most wonderful time and hope to return xx

Also the property has parking which is a BIG BONUS.

This house is in an excellent location close to the harbour, with its cafes and bars, but immediate area was quiet.

Good local londis. Only slight down side only a clothes maid to dry washing.

The booking process was so easy. Anvil House is lovely and provided everything we needed. It is so close to the town, the sea and coastal path and other places of interest. Weymouth is well worth another visit in the future and we will look at Dream Cottages again. Thank you- Stayed 2017.

The property was immaculate. It was very well located. With 2 small children of 6 and 3 it meant access to the beach and harbour was great and within walking distance which also meant avoiding the cost of parking - stayed July 2017
