Lovely cottage.

Great location and view. Pleasantly quirky. Nice welcome pack. Good communication with owners. Only downside rather steep stairs and difficulty parking.

Just wow!

From the very moment we stepped into the property it was just so welcoming and in our opinion, quite stunning. We stayed here as a party of 3 along with our dog. Everything you could imagine needing was here, from the welcome basket on arrival to hair straighteners if needed. All you really need to bring is yourselves, clothes, toothpaste and brush. Walking wise there's a pub literally a minute away, shops a couple of minutes and town is reached in less than 10 and a short drive to the supermarket. Sleep was excellent, I can honestly say, for the first time ever, I've not needed to moan about the pillows! The view from the master bedroom lovely. The garden is a lovely little oasis of calm and nicely secure for a four legged friend. Much kudos to Jane for getting in touch prior, to help with any queries, also letting us know that we could check in a little earlier and just knowing we'd be able to get in touch if needed. Weymouth is a much loved destination for us and we'd very happily stay at No. 6 The Terrace if it's available for our visits!

We thoughly enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable well positioned cottage.

Jane and Ian had put a lot of thought into the comfort of their guests and provide many complimentary extras ie tea, coffee, toiletries which were very welcome as we had travelled by train. There was a very generous welcome basket too. A small problem was dealt with promptly by Ian and we found the steps down beside the church made the harbour and town only a few minutes walk away. We would definitely recommend this cottage?

Fantastic location albeit parking could be a bit tricky.

The property was very well presented, well equipped and very clean.

The information provide by the owners and the welcome basket were excellent. The stairs to the top floor are a little steep and the top hall corridor narrow, but in keeping with the age and character of the property. Parking in the area near the property is very difficult and you need to be prepared to look for parking several streets away.

Such a fantastic property, we've been coming to Weymouth for years in various cottages and this was by far the most welcoming and comfortable!

Gorgeous house in a great location!

The welcome pack was lovely and far more/better than most places and it has everything you could need for your break. Parking on nearby streets wasn’t a problem (we could have parked on the terrace but decided that the road was too narrow for us this meant we had to do shuttle runs to unload/load the car but fortunately we had good weather). Weymouth is a lovely, friendly town with lots of dog friendly restaurants/bars/cafes, great walks along the beach and the local area (We only used our car once & that was to go to Portland). Would recommend to anyone thinking of booking, it’s a truly gorgeous house, I’m already missing the view from the upstairs bay window!

A charming and well appointed cottage and garden sitting one street back and above the harbour.

Lovely views from the main bedroom and delightful to watch the bridge open to allow yachts of all sizes move from the marina out to sea. The owners kept in contact with recommendations and to check all was well. We would definitely return. Parking isn’t so easy but being so near the best part of Weymouth makes the search for a space worthwhile.

Comfortable and opulently beautiful cottage in a great location.

Spotlessly clean and with many thoughtful and generous touches - a selection of toiletries, plenty of deep-pile towels, a drawerful of teas, and all cooking essentials provided. Warm and welcoming with a fire laid in the beautiful wood-burning stove. On a more prosaic note a week's supply of laundry/dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid and loo roll was very welcome.

This is a real gem of a cottage with views over Weymouth harbour from the Georgian bow fronted bedroom window.

The furnishings and decorations reflect the owners obvious pride and joy in creating such a wonderful home. It is inspiring to stay here. We look forward to visiting again next year.

We had a wonderful stay at this warm and welcoming boutique cottage with absolutely everything provided for a special experience in a picturesque harbour location.

It was very thoughtful of the owners to provide a generous welcome hamper which was much appreciated and enjoyed during our holiday. The cleanliness was of a very high standard in this thoughtfully designed unique retreat. The garden is a lovely haven and an evening sun trap where we enjoyed relaxing. We would certainly make a return visit.

Great place, would book again.

Very helpful with a small issue we had during our stay. Though you can't park at the property, we found the north quay carpark best, as the nearest with a short walk via the church steps. We found lots of little extras in the cupboards which was very handy when we ate in. It's central location very useful for exploring the town and surrounding area

As we stupidly left our key inside we had to call a locksmith.

A second key left in key box would have been very useful ! Cottage is very comfortable, only complaint we have is as we are avid readers , the ambient lighting in the lounge and bedroom made reading in the evening impossible, so slightly disappointing.

We loved the cottage.

Home from home for us. It's got everything you need and is well equipped with great harbour views from the front bedroom. A welcome hamper and a bottle of fizz is a great touch. The parking on roads around the property is hit and miss. We just parked opposite the Nothe Tavern (5/10 mins walk) for simplicity. It costs around £6/7 for 24 hours. It's free from 6pm till 8am anyway. I just kept topping up on the app. The property is clean and well maintained but obviously the owner allows dogs so don't expect it to be 100% perfect. They kept us well informed about everything. In short we loved it. So thanks!

We would move in tomorrow, what more do I need to say?

! We loved everything, from the view over the harbour from the front bedroom, cup of tea in hand, to the childhood memories rekindled by the outside loo (we used it in preference to the bathroom upstairs!). Thank you for your hospitality, we hope we’ll be back.

Absolutely wowed by this accommodation.

From reading the reviews and seeing the photos I was impressed with this accommodation but it really exceeded all my expectations on arrival. It gives exactly what it says and more. We had a fantastic week there and were lucky to have perfect weather to also enjoy the outside space. I cannot recommend this property enough, thank you for a wonderful stay we will definitely be booking again. Julia, Tim & our pups.

Best holiday cottage we have stayed in .

Very very well equipped , even had doggie stuff and an amazing hamper on arrival. The owners kept us informed. Found parking off Rodwell Avenue. In a great location to walk into town. Cleaned and presented to a high standard .Highly recommended .

Delightful terraced property with some beautiful features inside and a charming little garden to catch the sun and enjoy a drink in the evening.

A few steps up to the property from the main road below but taxis run from the station to the road above for those that may need it. Will definitely be returning as there is still so much to see and do if you like walking, boating, swimming and enjoying local pubs etc

Great location great view.

Parking was very limited so we parked at Asda for the week… exceptionally equipped everything you needed and more…

We had such a relaxing break at 6 The Terrace.

This is a unique property which is beautifully styled. The owners have thought of everything in order to make your stay comfortable. The large bathroom was light and bright with an excellent rainfall shower and lots of spare fluffy towels and loo rolls. During our two weeks we had great weather so were able to enjoy the very sunny back garden which was such a tranquil haven. The views from the front bedroom are breathtaking and this is one of the few places in Weymouth where you will have such a view. Our hosts kindly left us a generous basket of treats, including biscuits, coffee, teas, dog biscuits, milk in the fridge and a bottle of Prosecco! They collected our rubbish midway through our stay so we didn’t have to deal with it also. We felt instantly at home in no 6 and would highly recommend a stay there. Thank you to Jane and Ian for their hospitality and keeping in touch during our stay to ensure we had all we needed. No 6 will last in our memories and is one of a kind!

6 The Terrace is a beautiful property, very clean, as the owners take care of this themselves.

On arrival we had fresh flowers, milk in fridge, a lovely welcome basket with tea, coffee, biscuits, jam,etc, even treats for our dog, lovely touch, (Woody says thanks! ) The house is lovely, so well decorated, with a log burning fire, equipped with items to use. The living room is large, cosy, has games in cupboard, also cupboard with dog bowls, blankets, even dog baskets, if you have a small dog. The large sofa was very comfortable, also dining table was of good size. Kitchen had all utensils you could need and more, lovely cooker, coffee machine, washing machine and dryer, ironing board and iron, cleaning materials. Up the stairs are 2 comfortable bedrooms, well decorated. The largest bedroom had a lovely view over Weymouth. Large bathroom, had big walk in shower, also bath. Again, well equipped with plenty of towels,hand soap, shampoo, wash, and moisturiser. The back garden is tastefully done, even had a quirky little outside loo. The owner was very friendly and approachable if we needed anything while we were there. We had a lovely stay at this property, and after staying at other Sykes cottages over the many years of holidays in Weymouth, can honestly say that we have finally found our favourite place, and will definitely be back again!

Superb stay, couldn’t ask for any more.

Very clean & inviting house with an amazing view over the harbour. The house has a touch of luxury to it with so many nice touches that make you feel welcomed. Will definitely stay here again.

The cottage was lovely.

We arrived in the dark and the owners had kindly left some lights and the heating on for us. All the rooms are decorated to a high standard and are very comfortable. Lovely views over the harbour and further in to Weymouth. The kitchen is really well equipped and the bathroom was lovely and light with a great shower. We will definitely be returning in the summer months and will make use of the garden also.

We (couple, toddler, grandparents and dog) had a wonderful stay at The Terrace on November.

The cottage has been kitted out to a very high spec while still being true to its original character. There was a lovely welcome pack including doggy treats and a high chair available for our little one. The kitchen has everything you could need with a fabulous range. Bathroom and shower were great. Beds were very comfortable and spacious. Woodburning stove kept us nice and cosy too. Access was easy via parking a mins walk away and the views over the harbour are spectacular. Lovely pubs, restaurants and beach all withing a 5-10 min walk. The whole property was spotless on arrival and Jane was very responsive to a question I had. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough.

We loved this cottage.

The owners have gone above and beyond with decorating the place. It is truly beautiful and inspiring with the decor. There was everything there to make our stay comfortable including a lovely basket of goodies. I met Jane when we arrived there early and she was a very welcoming and helpful lady. The situation of the cottage is very close to the town with just a few steps and a ramp up to it. Parking near to the cottage is not possible but we found a space nearby on the roadside a short walk away.

We loved our stay at 6 The Terrace and have booked for another week next year.

We enjoyed the views over the harbour from the front bedroom. The bow sash window is a wonderful feature. We found everything about the decoration and furnishing of this quirky, cosy, stylish home delightful. It has been a great pleasure to stay here. The kitchen is spacious with a large gas hob, ovens and grill. There is plenty of room in the fridge and freezer. We enjoyed using some of the wide range of kitchen utensils, table ware and glassware. It was great to have a bathroom with a roll-top bath, walk in shower, large basin and stylish furnishings. We sat out for lunch one day in the garden at the back of the cottage and enjoyed the garden, garden furniture and statues in the borders. One of the benefits of staying in Weymouth is the easy access on the bus or train to explore other places in and around Dorset. We visited Bridport and West Bay, Lyme Regis and Portland on the bus and Dorchester on the train for its Wednesday Market Day. We walked to Portland Bill making use of the Rodwell Trail and swam in the sea at Church Ope Cove. A perfect holiday.

We absolutely loved this cosy comfy cottage!

Right in the buzzing town of Weymouth, we just walked down to the shops and fantastic beach everyday. We were very near food shops too. Found it very easy to leave the car and get the bus ( service excellent) to visit places. The cottage had everything we needed and the view form the main bedroom was just amazing! Thankyou

Lovely view over the harbour and within walking distance to the beach and the town. Jane is an amazing host, so friendly and helpful. We had a perfect weeks stay and would not hesitate to stay again.

Fantastic property very quirky stayed in many cottages in Weymouth this is definitely the best 5 star rating nice to stay in a property with a bit of colour not the usual white and beige hats off to the owner’s great taste must of cost a fortune to create but well worth the extra rental cost will definitely book again.

Just returned from a fantastic week at 6 The Terrace.

The cottage is beautiful and has everything you could need - and more! The welcome hamper was very much appreciated after a long drive down and the views over the harbour were stunning. Jane (the owner) was especially helpful as I had to change a couple of details about the booking, and we had a little issue with the hot water one morning, but it was rectified speedily and we were kept updated at all times. The location of the cottage is great, just a few minutes walk to the quayside and then round to the beach. I would just flag up that parking is not easy. We ended up renting a space in a nearby street (The Maltings, 5-10 min walk down/up the hill). This was money well spent as we hardly ever saw a free space near the cottage (it was half term week). That being said, I wouldn’t hestitate to stay at the cottage again, it made a fabulous home for us for a week and I’m already missing waking up to those wonderful views! Thank you Jane and Ian!

We absolutely loved 6 The terrace, probably the best holiday cottage we have visited.

The stunning decor, the attention to detail, the wonderful welcome pack were second to none. Plus the view and Weymouth itself, we had a brilliant holiday, even the weather was, mostly, kind. We met the owner when we arrived and she was so lovely and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

A beautifully presented traditional cottage with fantastic views over Weymouth harbour.

The owner has renovated the property to a high standard. A lovely courtyard garden is the perfect place to unwind with a good book. I have to mention the gorgeous eclectic mix of furniture, paintings and ornaments that really make this a proper home. Everything you could possibly need was provided along with a generous welcome pack. This property truly raises the bar for others wishing to get a five star rating.

6 The Terrace is a fantastic place.

Very homely with everything you could possibly need for your stay. It was a real home from home. The welcome basket was incredible and full of goodies !!! The Beach is a 10 minute walk away - and what a beach !! The dog loved it and we walked miles !! Also 10 mins away is Nothe Gardens for a bit of quiet. Thanks to Ian and Jane who gave us some useful info and allowed us to stay in their beautiful home.

Excellent cottage, decor was outstanding but most of all the welcome pack was fantastic, a well catered for kitchen with every conceivable pot pan and crockery, parking was a bit problematic however patients was rewarded and within a few minutes found a vacant slot, excellent views over the harbour.

We had a wonderful holiday in Weymouth.

The cottage was in easy reach of the town centre and the beach. The cottage was home from home, it was warm, cosy and very stylish. There was a problem with the local water one morning which meant there was no water. Jane (the owner) and Sykes cottages couldn't be more helpful in getting it sorted and keeping us posted as to what was going on. Thank you for the bottle of fizz as well Jane, it was lovely to meet you. Thanks again for a great place to stay on holiday.

We recently spent a fortnight in Weymouth at Jane's house.

Overlooking the harbour, it is a perfect place to stay and the most wonderful place to live. When we arrived there was a basket of gifts on the table to welcome us - what a great idea. Jane, the owner, has decorated the house very tastefully and with great attention to detail. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Thank you again Jane and Ian for your care during our stay. We will return to your beautiful and cosy house.

Absolutely lovely.

Great views, clean and comfortable. On our arrival we appreciated a fabulous welcome pack, the cottage was very well equipped and just a short walk to the harbour with plenty of shops, coffee shops and restaurants, we'll definitely be back. The only downside was we were cold in the evenings, I feel that curtains or blinds on the french doors would have made a big difference (being January and cold temperatures) in warmer seasons this wouldn't be an issue of course.

The views overlooking Weymouth harbour aren't the only spectacular thing about this property.

Beautifully presented and wonderfully styled, 6 The Terrace has everything you could need for an enjoyable stable. We spent New Year's Eve with the log burner alight in the cosy lounge - the perfect way to start 2024!

Once in the cottage we had a very comfortable stay, but getting in was a faff.

It was a good job we had the foresight to book a private parking space for the duration of the stay of it would have been impossible. The lack of road access to the property should be better called out right upfront, as should the narrow steep steps to the first floor. Beyond that the cottage was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with everything we needed for our stay.

We have stayed at this idyllic property a few weeks ago.

We were overwhelmed how well presented this property was and its awesome location. In fact, we are still talking about it now. There was everything we needed and more including a tray filled with goodies for us and our little dog which was a lovely surprise indeed. We go to Weymouth every year, but this is our top fave place now,We also had a privilege to meet the lovely owner, who told us a little bit about the property history which was another little bonus. Street parking is available close by.

WOW! WOW! This cottage is something else! It truly has everything and more that you could ask for! Every single detail has been thought about, from fixtures and fittings to salt and pepper! The view from the beautiful bedroom is one you will love. Even caters for your dog as well! Would 100% stay again, we even had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who were fabulous! If Weymouth is the place for you, this cottage is the one to pick!

We stay in Weymouth every year and I have to say, the cottage has to be our favourite so far.

The location was amazing - its just a moments walk down to Brewers Quay and the harbour. Although there is no parking directly outside the cottage, we were always able to find a space on the roads close to the property. The cottage in itself was stunning - I really need whoever came up with the interior design concepts to come to mine as I am going through a refurb! There was everything in the cottage needed for a thoroughly enjoyable stay for us all, including the most fluffiest of white towels. The beds were so unbelievably comfortable which did make it difficult to get up in the morning, although the amazing views over the harbour from the bedroom window did help! The owners provided a welcome tray which was so thoughtful, leaving items for all the family and ensuring I had the necessary items to have a much need cuppa when we arrived. Even the dog had her own treats and a dog bed and bowls were provided too! I would thoroughly recommend this property. The children loved the cottage and have asked if we can book again for next year!

We had a lovely 4 nights at this house in Weymouth this week.

The house itself is beautiful, with lovely views of the harbour from the bedroom. Everything provided was a bonus, I could have packed lighter! They even provided a gorgeous little hamper on arrival. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time!

Fantastic stay, beautiful cottage which is approx 150m from harbour.

The cottage us sited on the hill above the harbour. Everything needed was provided. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Parking is on the streets nearby to the cottage but we always managed to find space. Lovely welcome package provided on arrival.
