Sunny Haven

We love it at sunny haven this is our second time to this house.

We are visiting again in october. It's like a home from home.

We all had a lovely stay here.

Although quite near a busy road, we did not hear any noise from the road inside the house - very quiet and peaceful. Very useful local shops a short walk away or if you need a bigger shop then the local Morrisons was only a 10 min drive away. Slept really well on the comfy bed cushions and everywhere very clean. Pots and trays looked almost brand new. The only small issue we had was that our puppy managed to quickly work out how to get out to the front from under the gate down the side of the garden. Luckily we were unloading the car and spotted her and she is quite well trained and wouldn't run off. We fixed this by putting some bricks under the side gates. She is a terrier breed so not that small.

Great place as listed, very spacious with a enclosed dog safe garden, comfortable beds and furniture.

Clean and comfortable property in an excellent location.

The property benefits from spacious off road parking and extensive rear garden, which our little dog really enjoyed. This was our second visit to Sunny Haven, and we hope to return next year. Gary,Ann & Monty

It was a very spacious .

The garden is very large and would be well used by a family with young children. The beds were comfortable and kitchen was very good. Although on the main road we were never disturbed by the traffic. Overall we would definitely book again and recommend to other people.

This was our 3rd stay at Sunny Haven.

The location is perfect for us, with access to the local buses right outside and local shops and pub nearby. The large enclosed garden is perfect for our small dog and the ample parking space is a great bonus. The accommodation was very clean and well maintained. We would not hesitate to visit again. One small problem was that the toilet seat in the bathroom needs replacing as it does not fit the wc. A most enjoyable stay, as always.

Sunny Haven is ideally situated for access to Weymouth with Overcombe beach about a ten minute walk and then a good walk into Weymouth town along the sea front.

The property is comfortable and has all the things needed for an enjoyable stay. The bed is comfortable and although on a busy road the bedrooms are at the back so quiet to sleep. Unfortunately when we got there the property smelt of wet dog. I appreciate that it is a dog friendly but there was a lot of dog hair on the carpet and rug in the lounge. You could create quite a pile by running you trainer over it. I had to vacuum myself. Also the runner on one of the shower doors has come off the track. All this being said we would visit again.

We rebook regularly as this bungalow suits us as a home away from home.

Private parking, comfortable beds, a garden for the dog. It works for us.

What a fantastic location and setting.

Bungalow was perfect for everyone. Garden was large for our teenager and dog to run around and play in. Secure and set back from the main road. Location was just perfect. Ideal for all main towns to visit and not too far away to walk to the beach at Overcombe.

Excellent location and parking. Lovely large, enclosed garden for the dog to enjoy. Hopefully we will return again next year.

The property had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Had a glorious week with beautiful weather. Will be back.

We had a really lovely comfortable week in Sunny Haven.

The cottage is very convenient, warm, clean and comfortable and very well equipped with everything you would need. We relaxed instantly on arrival. It is located in Preston a short drive to Overcombe beach and a couple of minutes longer to Weymouth itself. Also it is easy to get to Portland Bill, Kimmeridge and lots of other places of interest. We have stayed a number of times and will be staying again in the future.

We appreciate the improvements being made by the owners such as the larger shower and replacement of the lounge chair with no webbing. A thicker quilt on the double bed next please. The listing should make clear that there are narrow entrance steps for those with mobility issues otherwise a great single floor rental.

sunny haven was in a perfect location to visit many places of interest.

the property has spacious rooms, comfortable lounge and plenty of seating both in the kitchen and sitting room. Well equipped kitchen that has everything you need. Nice to have the option of bath and shower. very warm with plenty of hot water. the garden is large but basic but perfect and safe if you have a dog with you. a very good property and reasonably priced. would return

Also the large enclosed garden great for the dog. Special mention for Chalbury Food and Wine about 100 yards away. Wonderful local shop and a great bacon roll.

We have just returned from spending New Year at Sunny Haven.

Having booked a bungalow due to my husbands lack of mobility we were disappointed at the very small steps into the property both at the front and back. From the outside the property looks nice with new windows but once inside it is very tired and old fashioned. Lovely kitchen and bathroom but the lounge is very dated, very tired furniture and not very comfortable seating, with only one small coffee table for all. The lounge dining chairs are very unstable and the kitchen ones very uncomfortable. 4.5 tog duvets not adequate for winter and not enough decent blankets to make up for them, good job we took our own blankets. Desperately need an outside light at the back. Definitely not worth the almost £1000 paid to spend New Year in Weymouth.

We hired the bungalow for our grandson and family, having stayed there ourselves the previous year and since we have moved to Weymouth ourselves, it was a great choice for us to get together over Christmas, the bungalow is beautiful and well stocked with all your needs and comfort, a special mention for the owners for their kind and thoughtfulness of gifts for our grandsons baby and themselves, on behalf of ourselves and our grandson’s family we would like to wish them a very happy New Year and would like to re visit the property again in the near future.

Sunny Haven is set in a lovely location with easy access to the surrounding area.

The beds were comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped and a large secure garden. Everything we needed was available, the only thing I would recommend is a light for the back garden.

Had a great couple of weeks at sunny haven, lovely little bungalow.

Everything you need is at hand. Only a 5min drive to seafront, and about the same to bowleaze. All in all, a great holiday, thank you.

We stayed at Sunny Haven last year so this was our second visit which again we enjoyed very much, thank you.

We find the property has all we need and is ideal for exploring the surrounding area, also impressed with the new shower. Another added bonus is the enclosed back garden which our Airedale Terrier enjoyed. We will definitely book again. Many thanks. Denise

We stayed here last year and the improvements to windows and shower very good.

Sunny haven is in excellent location. 15 mins walk to the quite end off the beach. Local shops takeaways and pubs close too. When we arrived we noticed the grass was long and looked like it had not been cut for a while. In the mornings noticed alot off slugs in the grass what's not good for your dog. On day 11 grass was cut what reduced the amount of slugs. Could do with some sort off lighting in back garden as its very dark when you let the dog out at night and also has some uneven patio slabs. Overall a excellent place to stay and will return in the future.

Good location.

Plenty room, bed was comfy. However there was never any hot water, luckily there was an electric shower. There was a musty damp smell throughout the property. Just needs thorough clean and redecorating then would be really good. Other Sykes properties we have stayed in left welcome packs of milk and bread.

Lovely accommodation and just wanted we needed.

We have stayed in this area several times before and this bungalow by far is the best, the garden for the dog was fantastic and so much bigger than the pictures show. I would also suggest that you update your photos as the new windows and front door and the shower cubicle are a lovely addition which enhances the property further. To make this property even better it would be lovely to have a bigger patio area but understand this is not a priority. If it was my property i would maybe suggest a smaller table in the lounge as the property only accommodates 4 people so no need for 6 seater table and it would free up a bit more space. We only came back home yesterday and have booked for next year already as for us it suited us perfectly, the dog was beside himself running around in the big back garden, happy dog, happy owners !

Single beds are too soft for adults.

TV not connected to wifi. The property is spacious and well equipped, and well situated for Weymouth.

Needs refurbishment and deep clean layers of dust skirting boards and interior doors toilet not cleaned marks on all walls

Had a wonderful stay with my 88 year old mother everything was easy accessible for a comfy cosy break we will look forward to returning.

The property was very clean and cosy, we had a 4 day stay here over Christmas and into New Year’s Day.

Located close to Weymouth seafront and town, I would recommend this property to anyone thinking of booking it.

The property was very clean and well maintained. Excellent garden for our small dog. Great bus link to Town.

A great place to stay, perfectly located and a cosy bungalow with large back garden.

The tea and coffee packs on arrival were thoughtful. I'm not sure what a couple of previous reviews meant about the windows and bins. All windows had keys and could be opened easily & safely. Because bin day is Thurs there's going to be a bag of rubbish in the bin, same as you'll be leaving one yourself on a Friday or weekend check in. Overall a lovely holiday was had, especially appreciated the washing machine, dishwasher, jigsaws and books. Perhaps a few more children's books could be a nice addition?

Lovely place to stay.

Had everything we needed and the secure garden was an added bonus for our elderly dog as she enjoyed just laying outside. Good location close to beach amd shops and just a short drive to Weymouth.

On the whole it was a lovely relaxing stay.

Felt really at home there. The whole place was well equipped and clean and the beds were really comfortable. The garden was really nice although could benefit from an outdoor light if possible. My only concerns were very minor and may seem petty. They were, a loose toilet seat in the main bathroom and we were unable to open any windows in the property without the fear of damaging them.

Great holiday home in a lovely location.

Clean and comfortable making the perfect base for exploring Dorset. Driveway easy to park and lovely well maintained garden for our puppy. Lots of kitchen utensils and kitchen is perfect. Lounge fab with plenty of seating and a table for the kids to do crafts. Shower room functional and does the job. Bigger shower would be amazing and easier for parents to shower the kids but it was fine for us to use. Would use again if visiting the area and would highly recommend! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Problem with rubbish, outside bin was overflowing when we arrived, and was not emptied.

Did not know that we had to strip beds on departure, as this was not mentioned in information pack, only told to us by Sykes after we got home.

A beautiful bungalow had everything you need for a perfect holiday the only problem was the shower which we had to call out some one to check this was done quickly and resolved reasonably well although it meant cool showers to avoid scalding the cubicle was also a little small we had a lovely holiday and would book again Joyce and Richard

The property was close to all amenities as stated, just a blip away from Weymouth where there is plenty to do and see.

Would like to have seen a guest book so we could leave tips on places of interest that we found and wanted to share like The Fat Badger for something to eat. Shame on the people before us with a dog for not picking up their Dog Poo!!!

We were very pleased with the accomadation it had everything you could wish for. Clean and tidy we would stay again.

First time we have used Sykes cottages and was so happy with sunny haven , very clean and tidy and lots of space , the kitchen was great and had everything we needed, the location was perfect!

Very close to shops and attractions, will definitely be coming back in near future! Thanks so much for making our break perfect!

We have visited many Sykes cottages.

But this was the best so far .Thought the kitchen was exceptional the dish washer,washing machine ,fridge and oven & hob. Were very up to date All the utensils and crockery were very modern and plenty of them. The area was good to.Good convenience store right on doorstop. Thankyou Margaret

Very very pleased with the property.

Very well equipped kitchen and comfortable living room. Shower is a little on the small side. We would happily recommend the property to others.

we really liked the bungalow and loved Preston where it was situated - i was disapointed that there was no tv in the main bedroom as i do like to go to bed and watch tv for a while.

The main problem is the shower which was very old fashioned and too small for my husband to even get into!! I would only re book this bungalow if this were updated. More low lighting is needed in the lounge there was no visitors book so i put my comments on a piece of paper
