“We liked: *Great location; short walk to beach, take away options on it’s doorstep and surrounded by beautiful unspoilt period buildings, with the parking also being a big plus.”

    ...

*Excellent internal spaces, full of character; we were a party of 10 (6 adults and 4 kids) there was loads of room for the kids to play (hide and seek was a winner), we all fit around the dining table, the main lounge saw a few nights of board games and we all fit in there comfortably and the courtyard was nice to chill in at breakfast. The WiFi was good but we were happy that we only used it to check out the nearby food options as the kids had more fun making up their own games rather than caring about playing on their devices. Points for improvement: *Cleaners could do with steam cleaning the floor! I don’t think it has ever seen even a mop, most left their shoes on because of it and I found myself washing my feet before bed or putting shoes on! The tables in he courtyard area were also thick with dirt that I didn’t expect to have to wipe down on arrival so we could eat at them for breakfast. I get that it is an outside area so rain and wind make a mess, but the cleaners would have been there at some point before we arrived! * A floor plan on these listings would be great. I miss read the listing as I saw ‘ground floor bedroom’ shown as a key feature. It was a factor in my choosing this property as we had a disabled person in out group. I hadn’t payed attention to other wording that mentioned that the living areas were on the 1st floor, making a downstairs bedroom redundant as we weren’t about to leave that person in their downstairs bedroom while we all had fun upstairs. We ended up having to swap bed rooms so they could be on the floor with the living spaces but, there is no shower or bath up there, only a nightmare of a toilet for anyone who is not able bodied. This meant a few tricky trips up and down the stairs. So a floor plan would be great to help make it clear to people like me who didn’t register the listing properly. But a ground floor bedroom should not be listed as a key feature when all the other living areas are not accessible from the same floor.

The property

The Oast House is a superb example of designer chic and comfort zone rolled into one in Kellaway Court, Weymouth.

This splendid holiday home is built around its two Malt Towers, the original features of the Devenish Brewery.

With a fusion of modern and traditional themes this abode certainly creates that "wow" factor for a special holiday or celebration.

On entering the uniquely designed and well equipped upper floor, the expanse of space is a sheer delight, being surrounded by many alternative living areas.

Snuggle down in the main lounge on luxurious sofas, with an incredible under lit ceiling looking up to the chimneys, overlooking the patio and Brewers Quay.

Whoop it up in the dining area seating 10, over looked by the gallery and supported by individual architectural features.

Dream away in the conservatory, with its high beams and wide windows overlooking the patio.

Enjoy an early morning coffee or begin the evening with a glass or two of wine on the patio: with its old church style windows, a quiet secluded paved area.

The Oast House is a unique property, well sought after, with an arty feel, enhanced by its architecture and 2500 square feet of living space.

Seen from the harbour and surrounded by the coast, the fort and Hope Square, which hosts an array of local pubs, restaurants and history. Centrally located within a few minutes and you are on the harbourside and within 10 minutes you are on Weymouth seafront with its golden sands.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
