The property

These inviting shepherd’s huts sit in a country setting in the village of Maiden Newton, near Dorchester, in it's own beautiful meadow.

Acres Meadow can sleep 4 guests, perfect for a family with young children looking to explore this idyllic region of Dorset.

The first shepherd’s hut features a double bed, wood burner, small kitchenette facilities and a bunk bed.

The second shepherd's hut, just behind, features a large walk in shower, wood burner, toilet and sink with washing up facilities.

Enjoy picnics from the outdoor bench, and make use of the fire pit whilst watching the sunset, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Nestled in the beautiful Frome Valley, the surrounding region is filled with stunning walks and trails, and on your return stop off at a local pub for a pint and some grub.

There's also a good selection of shops including a well-stocked local village store for grabbing the essentials, along with a convenient train station for access to Weymouth, Yeovil or Bath.

Head to the excitement of Dorchester, where you can wander the traditional high street and pop in and out of well-established retailers and coffee shops or explore the local attractions such as the Dinosaur Museum or Dorset County Museum featuring a fantastic display of Roman artefacts all found locally.

When you fancy a beach day, head to expanses of Chesil Beach, regarded as one of the most remarkable beaches in the country.

The Jurassic coast road will provide you with some fantastic views.

Weymouth beach is a sandy, family friendly, beach with plenty to entertain the whole family.

Head further afield and explore Bridport and West Bay, the home of Broadchurch.

Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Swannery and the delights of Lyme Regis are all within easy driving distance.

With plenty to fill your holiday itinerary, Acres Meadow offers a rustic countryside bolthole, whatever time of year.

Maiden Newton is a town-sized village in the county of Dorset and surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Within the village you'll find shops, a pub and a restaurant. Maiden Newton is also home to the Church of St. Mary, which is one of the most interesting buildings in the village. The church door is thought to be the oldest wooden church door in England. For fine beaches, fossils and cliff walks, look no further than the South Dorset Heritage Coast where you'll also find the towns of Lyme Regis, with its famous Cobb, Charmouth, with its sandy beach, or West Bay, where you can fish off the pier.
