Fantastic cottage,beautiful garden,very well equipped and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in,handy having the pub over the road.

Lovely property - comfortable and a real 'home from home'.

There is everything you could possibly need to cook, keep clean and relax. Situated in a small village, as others have mentioned, the Pub is the centre. The cottage is approximately 18 paces from the front door to the pub door!! What could be better? The food there is excellent but it does get very busy and booking is advisable. The staff there are extremely friendly and we were allowed to park in the car park whilst we were there which is much easier than on the road. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the cottage and in the village. It is easy to get to Weymouth, Lyme Regis and Poole as big places and there are lots of beautiful little villages around with many things to do and see. One final, cautionary note - there are lowish beams and ceilings in the cottage and if you are 6 foot tall, you need to be alert so you don't bump your head. My husband is 6 foot and he did bang is several times - thankfully not too badly but it is worth noting!! Would highly recommend renting!

Quaint and quirky but with all mod cons.

Comfortable and well equipped, with many items from books, games, CDs to wellies and warm jackets generously left by the owner for the use of guests. The rear garden is beautifully sunny in the afternoon. The lack of of private parking space is no problem; we parked on the road within 20 feet of the front door for the duration. Beautifully situated for walking directly from the property or exploring further into Dorset.

Lovely cottage.

Very quiet village and some nice walks from the front door. Lovely pub opposite and very accommodating, friendly, nice ale and extremely dog friendly also . Meals really nice too. The cottage had everything you need and really was like a home from home. Only problem was the ensuite bathroom and the not so friendly beam! All in all, a really enjoyable break and the surrounding area fantastic.

A wonderful cottage full of character and homely touches.

Superb location with a great welcoming pub nearby. Found the bare staircase a worry at times. Quaint enclosed garden with views over fields and lots of birdsong. Loved it!

The cottage was as described and is in a quiet location.

It had everything we needed. It has the added benefit of being just over the road from the excellent community run Elm Tree pub.

A very well equipped cottage within a short distance of the South West Coastal Path (walking distance) Abbotsbury and Weymouth.

Dog friendly, with an enclosed rear garden. There is a decent pub opposite the cottage, serving a varied menu, with friendly staff and is again, dog friendly. Fully recommended.

One of the best cottages we have stayed in.

Very well equipped and comfortable. Loved the suppy of logs for the winter evenings. We did however have a few minor disatisfactions, which we think would be of value. Firstly on a winters afternoon, it would be more welcoming if the heating was left on as it felt quite cold on arrival. Secondly, with the coats hanging on all the pegs, we had to remove to put our own coatrs etc there, and being winter we came prepared for wintery conditions. Lastly, there was very little room in the kitchen cupboards to store our own food. These comment no way deflect our stay, but maybe could be of help for the future.

We had a fantastic three-night stay at Cobblers Cottage over New Year 25/26.

The cottage is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and very dog-friendly. There are great walks from the door to the coast and across gorgeous countryside and there is plenty to do nearby ever in the depths of winter. The Elm Inn across the road is lovely, has friendly staff who couldn't have been more helpful. A perfect, relaxing getaway!!

Great walks from the cottage down to The Fleet and beyond. Easy access to Weymouth & Dorchester. All in all, a welcoming, warm and delightful cottage.

The owners have gone a long way to make it very homely and comfortable. Everything we needed was there, it was genuinely a home from home. We would not hesitate to book again.

We had a wonderful stay at Cobbler’s Cottage.

It was exactly the cosy countryside escape we were looking for, and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. The cottage was spotless, well-equipped, and set in an idyllic location. The highlight for us was the log burner – there’s nothing better than coming back from a long walk and unwinding by the fire. We hope to return next year!

We parked our car in the lane opposite and had no problems. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing stay.

This cottage is like a home from home!

all you could ever need in a kitchen was there, also they had left a little pack for dishwasher etc which means you don't have to go an buy things straight away. Everything was clean and tidy with clear instructions as to how to use things. They also provided a welcome pack of local chutney, cereal, coffee and teak and a pint of milk too. I would recommend talking to the landlady of The Elm Tree Inn and asking if you can park your car in their car park which is just across the road as it is all on street parking. She was happy to do so as it meant the road did not get blocked up for her deliveries every day. I can thoroughly recommend The Elm Tree Inn but, book early as they do get booked up and the welcome, atmosphere and quality of food is amazing. There are also some lovely walks around you just need to ask the locals. There is no street lighting so if you arrive in the dark make sure you have a torch. The garden is lovely and you can watch the deer in the morning grazing. Overall a lovely homely cottage and would definitely stay again and for longer as the peace and quiet was lovely.

We first stayed at Cobblers back in 1997.

We are delighted we can stay there again! It has literally everything one could wish for. Home away from home. The one only drawback was the sofas aren't high backed and were a little uncomfortable and unsupportive. Otherwise it was absolute wrench to leave. Perfect garden too.... we love it. Our favourite of everywhere we've stayed in Dorset over the decades.

So well equipped and welcoming - it felt like the family were sharing their home with us, rather than just renting a bland holiday home somewhere.

The cottage is clean and tidy with everything you could possibly need for your stay.

We loved sitting in the garden relaxing, the dogs also loved the outside area. It was safe and Devore with plenty for them to explore! We loved the friendliness of the village and the local pub. The area is an ideal base to explore lots of Dorset’s attractions.

The cottage is a beautiful and clearly much loved second home.

It was the most well equipped place I have ever stayed, with a lovely garden. The quality of the bedding was good too . The downside that as an old home there was a really musty, damp smell in the main living room especially towards the left hand side of the fireplace.The bedrooms and kitchen were fine. The smell dissipated a little over the week with having all the windows open. Perhaps it would need a good airing before guests arrive? Similarly, although I am not bothered with a few cobwebs and daddy long legs, some might be. And arriving to lots of dead flies and bluebottles on window ledges a little off-putting which could easily be amended. A broom in the house would have been helpful in keeping the kitchen clean, there was only a dustpan and brush, with a wet and muddy broom outside. The double bed was very soft! These comments are to help make the place perfect!
