Little Willow

Suzy and Ray are wonderful hosts who made sure throughout our stay that everything was exactly as it should be.

They genuinely care about their guests, and it shows. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Sykes, whose customer service was extremely disappointing. It was impossible to get through to anyone on the phone. Even after requesting an emergency callback, it took several attempts before I was contacted by text, only to be asked the same repetitive questions without anyone really listening to the issue I was trying to explain. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Sykes. Their customer service is virtually non-existent, which is a real shame because this beautiful cottage and its owners deserve far better support. The cottage itself is delightfully rustic, full of character, and exceptionally well equipped. The surrounding countryside is simply breathtaking and was exactly what this Londoner needed. As a fashion photographer, I couldn't resist bringing my wildlife lenses as well, and I'm so glad I did. Even from within the garden, I photographed an incredible variety of wildlife. It was an absolute joy. A huge thank you to Suzy and Ray for making our stay so memorable. Sykes, however, really need to improve their customer service. You benefit from wonderful properties like this, but poor customer support risks putting people off before they ever get the chance to experience places as special as this one.

Amazing place peace and quiet plenty of walks

We had a very enjoyable stay at little willow A brilliant cottage,very comfortable had everything we needed ,great location with secure parking,had a friendly welcome from suzy the owner,we hope to return next year and stay longer a big thank you for a very relaxing break.

A fantastic peaceful & beautifully rustic looking timber clad holiday home from home in the heart of the lovely Dorset countryside.

We were made very welcome by Suzy and her husband.

They were on hand if we needed anything, otherwise we were left to enjoy our stay. Little Willow has a lovely artistic rustic charm. The accommodation was comfortable secure and we had our own little garden. A hit with our dog. Peaceful with nice views

Amazing place to stay - peaceful and quiet with a beautiful garden and fabulous deck to sit out on in the evenings and watch the wildlife.

The cottage itself was stunning - really well equipped and had everything you could need - a proper home from home. The garden was totally secure for our little dog to go out safely with a lovely grassy patch at the side for wees out of the way. Perfect! Suzy was amazing as well x

The cottage was in a quiet peaceful setting which we really enjoyed and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners.

The log burner made it very cosy and the kitchen was very well equipped. The bed wasn't great as it was too small, and the shower wasn't brilliant.

I have been with Sykes cottages for around 6 years, and we love it.

We ha e dogs, and the accommodations that we have been to has been fab, and we get ti pay it off bit by bit. Love love love it xx

Suzy had the perfect accommodation which was 5 star service throughout, matched by two books of very positive comments.

Like so many people before, we will definitely going back there again. It was ideal throughout both for us celebrating our wedding anniversary and for our little dog who had her own little orchard, totally amazing!

Little Willow is a little gem.

It was comfortable and cozy and everything was provided for. It was in a quiet area with lovely views over the countryside. There is a veranda to sit outside with table and chairs.

A delightful quirky cottage, set in a quiet location.

It is both welcoming and comfortable, and the owners can’t do enough to make one’s stay delightful. We were very impressed, and came away feeling very relaxed, having enjoyed every day of our week’s stay.

Have stayed at a number of Sykes listed properties and all have been wonderful, without question, but Little Willow is my absolute favourite!

! Everything has been thought of to make your stay comfortable - even a torch by the bed as it is so very dark (and quiet) at night - only the sound of pears and apples dropping to the ground outside the bedroom window. My daughter and I wanted peace, quiet, relaxation and to do absolutely nothing for a few days and that's what we got. The courtyard garden is so wonderful - full of insects, bees, moths and butterflies. The birds overhead were fantastic and the fragrance from all the herbs and plants was wonderful. The garden may look a little untidy at first sight but it is designed to attract all types of wildlife, which it does and it's absolutely a thing of beauty. All facilities worked, and there was a welcome gift of jam, biscuits and wine; there was also milk in the fridge plus a range of tea, coffee and sugar plus basic herbs and sauces in the cupboard; the cottage was clean, with ample towels and bedding - everything thought of in the kitchen and bathroom, a hairdryer is available and we had 2 fans as it was quite warm when we stayed. We brought all our food with us but the general store in Child Oakford is about 4 mins away by car and has a huge selection of everything, and I mean everything you could possibly need, want or just fancy! I am reasonably local to Little Willow but I can see how it would make a great location to visit many Dorset attractions, and some across the border too. Tiny Willow was occupied during our stay but that had no impact on the peace and quiet we enjoyed. My daughter slept on the couch bed in the lounge and found it comfortable and cosy, I had the bedroom and the bed was extremely comfortable as well. I am disabled and use 2 crutches to walk but Little Willow was absolutely fine for me. Two shallow steps up to the Verandah (where we sat very early each morning to watch the crows fly by and their displays - bit nippy but there are ample throws to cuddle in to), with a toilet and shower that were easy to access and use - comfortable chairs in the lounge too. Alas, we don't have a dog at the moment but there's no trace dogs have stayed in the past and it would be a fabulous place to bring your dog too - very secure. I could write loads more but lastly I'd like to thank Suzy for her welcome and attention during our stay - always available if you've a question, or to help with a problem - only one for us, a small Swift got trapped in the cottage. We never met Rob but I can only imagine that he's as welcoming as Suzy. I can't thank them enough for everything they must have put into Little Willow - the care and attention to every detail, the decoration, the garden furniture and facilities....we sincerely hope to return at some point - I think Spring and full Autumn would be lovely there. If you're looking for a complete getaway from daily life or a base from which to discover Dorset and surrounding counties then...5 star, 10/10, would highly recommend. (Oh, and the WiFi was even more reliable than at home!)

I had the most wonderful stay in Little Willow!

It's the most gorgeous accommodation, had everything I needed for a relaxing stay, it was really comfortable and clean, and I loved sitting on the deck at the end of the day and listening to the birds. Suzy was incredibly helpful and so warm and friendly. It was the perfect peaceful haven in the countryside! Thanks so much for having me.

We had the most lovely break staying in Little Willow.

We can't put into words how calm and relaxed we felt whilst there. It seriously makes us want to find a piece of land with planning permission near home so we too can place our own charming piece of Dorset on it. I've honestly been looking! From the swooping swallows in the apple orchard, to the blackbird hopping on the patio and through your raised flower beds looking for grubs, to the blue tits pecking at the apples both on the branches and on the orchard floor. We hope to be back some day. *****

Little Willow was fantastic, we're so glad we found it.

It's a light and airy space, very nicely styled and equipped with all we needed, and in a peaceful setting. The outdoor area was good with plenty of ways to relax and enjoy the surroundings and it's all very secure. The hosts couldn't have been nicer, nothing was any trouble and hope to return one day!

We had a wonderful week here.

The whole ambience was just what we needed. Little Willow is so quirky, you can't help but fall completely in love with it. Spotlessly clean, kitted out with love of colour and guests' comfort in mind. We brought our little rescue dog who still wants to bolt. So we needed somewhere which was 100% secure. Which it is. The covered porch was perfect for the heat we had. We loved listening to the birds, so many different ones. The views were special. We would highly recommend a stay here.

We had an amazing stay at Little Willow, Suzy was very welcoming and kind without being overbearing.

Little willow is a perfect accommodation if you have a dog, the garden is completely secure and is set up with dogs in mind - including an area for toileting which is really helpful having been to other accommodations in the past which were listed as dog friendly but dogs weren’t allowed in the garden. The floors are all wipeable, the furniture is covered and no huge long list of chores to do before leaving. The accommodation is cozy and well stocked with everything you would need, logs are included for the log burner which was also a lovely bonus. All in all it was a really peaceful stay and we enjoyed it so much. Thank you for having us.

A rural location which we love. Outside space was lovely and peaceful, nice to sit out with a morning cuppa or an evening glass of wine. Inside was well planned with everything you need to cook a full meal if needed. Nice comfy bed. Would have liked a bigger tv but fine. Hosts were very helpful but not intrusive. Great base to explore the beautiful Dorset countryside and coast. Very relaxing accommodation to come home to after a long day exploring. We didn’t take our dogs to this holiday, but if you do the garden is well secure and would be perfect. I would highly recommend this property for a perfect stay.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful part of the country.

Ideal for a chilled week away with the dogs. Lovely welcoming bottle of wine and biscuits for us and treats for the dogs. Lovely to sit on the porch and watch the sunset and then sit inside with the log burner on. We had a very relaxing week snd would return.

The property really is dog friendly as are the owners.

Loved the stay. Would definitely go back if we go back to that area.

Our stay at Little Willow was perfect.

A hideaway from a busy life.So quiet+peaceful.Lovely walks+not too much of a drive to Weymouth.We had sun every day which was a bonus but it would have still been lovely in the rain.Our dogs had a lovely time also.Nice secure garddn for them.

We spent 5 nights at Little Willow and had the most amazing time.

The cottage was located in a lovely setting and was close to all of the main attractions. The cottage felt really homely, was well equipped with everything you could need, and had a lovely welcome pack. Our 2 doggies settled in really quickly and enjoyed their holiday, just as much as we did. The garden was really secure and we felt extremely safe at the cottage. From start to finish, the hosts had lovely communication and ensured we were comfortable. We will definitely be coming back to Little Willow and look forward to another relaxing break here. The cottage itself was wonderful, a mixture of old and new with some lovely touches. The little fairy lights around the bed head were beautiful and everything had been thought of. The garden was lovely and completely enclosed and safe for our dog and had beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We loved sitting out on the verandah even in the rain. We would definitely recommend the property to others and fully intend to return ourselves.

We have been travelling and staying in many different places and Little Willow is the one we like the most.

It is very spacious open plan living/dinning/kitchen area. We really enjoy it.

Great, dog friendly property.

Suzy was a fantastic host and made sure we had everything we needed. The enclosed garden was perfect for our Labrador and we loved the open plan living/kitchen space. The log burner was a great touch on a chilly evening and made the place feel really cosy. The directions were clear to follow and the location was great for exploring lots of different areas. The suggestions in the folder provided were really useful too- we went to the local cricketers pub and visited some of the places like Tyneham which we might not have done otherwise.

Warm in winter, well equiped, very friendly owners, great starry nights and sooooo quiet. A real retreat! We will be back.

What a wonderful hidden gem.

We had a restful and relaxing stay over Christmas at Little Willow and we could not fault it in any way. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. Just perfect

Little Willow, is very cute and comfortable.

It was lovely sitting on the verandah, on fine evenings, with our drinks before dinner. There was plenty of outside space for our bikes and many country lanes and paths to cycle on, without having to use the car too much. There are some great walks in the area also. The owner, Suzy, welcomed us just after we arrived and checked that we had everything we needed. She even offered us bike covers at it was raining but we put the bikes under the verandah.

Ideal secluded cottage, even more so if you have a dog.

Only one that I have ever stayed in that had its own private dog proof courtyard and garden.

Everything about Little Willow was sublime.

The most perfect retreat set in the beautiful Dorset countryside. We can’t recommend it enough! We stayed for a week, and spent two of the days just relaxing in the cabin. There’s nothing quite like reading a good book cosied up on the veranda, whilst watching the pizza oven fire up for homemade pizzas. The little touches like fairy lights, blankets and beautiful decor really made it a home-from-home and we will definitely be back - next time with our dog, who would absolutely love it here.
