Head to the sitting room with a good book and a glass of wine to unwind in the corner of the sofa, a snug area where you can spend quality time with your partner, or spend some time to indulge in your favourite television programmes.

The kitchen offers a wonderful spot to bring the family together, a spacious area where you can come together to cook all your favourite meals and enjoy sitting to eat them at the dining table in this bright and airy setting.

With two ground-floor bedrooms, this property offers a fabulous sleeping arrangement for all the party, with two double rooms both with en-suite shower rooms that offer you privacy and promise a restful night’s sleep before your busy day of adventure ahead.

Located within the village of Upwey, you can find a selection of pubs, cafes, and shops to spend the day exploring whilst walking amongst the beautiful scenery that surrounds.

Be sure to stop at the Upwey Wishingwell Tearooms, a lovely sub-tropical garden area where you can enjoy an afternoon tea beside the river front and oriental pond; it also makes a terrific wedding venue too.

Head further afield to explore the true beauty of Dorset, with Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove not too far away, they are well worth a visit to take in the sea breeze and stunning scenes whilst the children search the rockpools for sea creatures.

For a day out in a traditional setting, head to the town of Dorchester, with an array of museums including The Keep presenting you the history of Dorset in a beautiful building, The Dorset County Museum where you can learn about the geology of the area, and not forgetting the Dinosaur Museum, offering a fun-filled day out for all the family.

About the location

Dorchester 4.5 miles; Weymouth 4 miles.

The picturesque village of Upwey lies just four miles north of Weymouth, nestling beneath the Dorset Ridgeway, and takes its name from the shallow chalk stream, the River Wey, which bubbles up here from an underground spring. Upwey is well-known for its Wishing Well, where George III once sought the benefits of the natural spring water. It is now a delightful tea room, serving lunches and traditional cream teas. There are a number of footpaths leading directly from the village to miles of unspoilt countryside, and close by is the market town of Dorchester, Thomas Hardy’s ’Casterbridge’. An easy drive or bus ride takes you to the popular seaside resort of Weymouth offering visitors glorious golden sandy beaches, excellent watersports facilities and a bustling harbour. An attractive village location and an ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Note: Shared car parking area. Not suitable for charging electric vehicles owing to distance from parking area to house.

Note: There are three steps up to the property and three steps to the kitchen so the property, although on a ground floor is not suitable for wheelchair access.
