What guests are saying
We were very pleased with the accommodation.
It was well equipped and had a lovely view of the sea and bay. It was well situated for the town and walks along the coastal path. However, during our stay there was an issue with the main toilet and despite reporting this to Sykes fairly early on, it was not repaired during our stay. The recommended procedure proposed by the owner was carried out each day, but was not ideal during a holiday.
Overall the property was adequate.
The location was good but potential guests need to be aware of quite a climb from the town centre…..it may not suit people with mobility issues! There were a couple of issues whilst we were on holiday and in our opinion they could have been handled more efficiently. The lack of a dishwasher (damaged beyond use) which clearly had been an issue previously was disappointing. There did appear to be a lack of concern by the Managing agents and bearing in mind that we are in 2026, the fact that the owner “ was out of town and not contactable” appears to suggest a lack of care!
We loved our time in Swanage and stay at Purbeck Vista.
The apartment is very cosy, comfortable and quiet, with all the amenities you need. The owners have very thoughtfully provided DVDs, games, and books as well. The location is perfect, very close to town and Durlston country park which is well worth a visit. As noted by others, it’s a steep hill down and back to town. Does wonders for your legs! It was our first time in Swanage, we usually stay in Weymouth, and it made for a very pleasant change. Swanage is much smaller but was still lively with families enjoying the amazing beach, local shops and restaurants. It’s very clean and family friendly, with plenty of entertainment. If you want to hire paddle boards or kayaks, give Emma at Swanage surf and sup a call for the best options and prices. We also enjoyed at great day out with Swanage sea fishing. In the immortal words of Arnie, “I’ll be back”
