“The position of the cottage is idea for exploring the Jurassic coast.”
Burton bradstock is a beautiful village, Hive beach bar serves wonderful food with sea views - the young staff are very friendly. The Anchor and three horseshoes are both very pleasant too, both serving great food.
Bridport boasts being the happiest town in Britain, we certainly concur with this. We walked from BB up over the ridge and down into Bridport, ate at the Green Yard cafe (5⭐s from us) such lovely staff and dog friendly.
We walked to West bay, along the beach once and over golf course the other. We ate at Rise, food and service were outstanding.
Abbotsbury is well worth a visit, the bus goes from door to door. A visit to the subtropical gardens is recommended whilst there.
Dormouse cottage itself is pretty and comfortable. Ceilings are low for anyone over 5'9" and the cottage is a tad noisy from the road, but silent at nighttime (we could only hear the sea through our open window). The shower has a substantial leak, the lack of dishwasher ( this could be fixed by just having a walk in shower and moving the washing machine into the bathroom leaving space for a dishwasher) and uncomfortable double mattress are our only niggles.
