Woodlands House

Really lovely property and perfect for a big family stay!

The rooms are all a really good size and lovely bathrooms. The garden was secure for our little dogs and we loved the hot tub. Perfect location for exploring the local area. Melissa made us feel very welcome

The host was very welcoming and accommodating replying quickly to questions and resolving any queries we had, providing suggestions for things to do in the area.

They also left some welcome gifts for us when we arrived, which was a lovely touch, and nothing seemed to be too much bother for the host to assist us. The house is wonderfully presented, with loads of space and in a great location just a moments’ drive from Moor Valley country park. Other destinations such as Bournemouth, Boscombe and Mudeford are only 15 mins drive away so based in a good location close to the major roads. The house offers plenty of rooms to cater for at least 4 families comfortably and all are of decent size. A couple of the rooms had en-suite and air con in them, whilst the third and fourth room had a shared bathroom accessible from the landing. There is also a kids room with bunk beds and a secret loft room which the kids enjoyed playing hide and seek in. There is a bedroom downstairs too with its own private bathroom so plenty of options for all ages. All rooms were maintained to a high standard being clean and tidy. You had all the expected things such as towels, bathroom amenities etc., and irons/hairdryers available to use so you didn’t need to worry about bringing these everyday items. There were plenty of large mirrors around too. With it being warm, a couple of fans in the rooms without AC would have been appreciated. Minor point though as it was not overly stuffy. The kitchen/dining area has all you need to prepare food for yourselves and even had everyday essentials such as bread, milk, eggs, butter, and cooking oil. There were plenty of bowls, plates, mugs, glasses, cutlery, and cooking utensils. There was a decent sized fridge/freezer too which was stocked with ice, ice cream, lollies and a few extra bits and bobs. The dining area had bifold doors that opened into a lovely sized garden, where you can enjoy having a BBQ, kids can play in the garden as well as a hot tub available for use (which did get used and everyone enjoyed playing/chilling in it). There is also a laundry room next to the dining room which had all your cleaning essentials as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer for any accidents. For lounges, there were two, one which is huge and has board games in there, a piano, table games and a huge TV with preloaded Netflix accounts. Plenty of sofas and seating areas in there. The second was a bit smaller however functioned more as a games room and another potential bedroom, with plenty of toys, books, and more board games to play. The only thing missing IMHO is a table football / pool table / darts board. The kids would’ve loved playing with them however again this is a minor point and did not affect or detract from a lovely stay. Overall, a lovely visit and stay, one we would probably look to revisit in the future again at some point and would highly recommend to others too.

We had a fantastic time and the house was brilliant in every respect.

So much so that we are hoping to book it again for next summer, so please let us know as soon as this is possible.

We loved our stay at woodlands.

On arrival the property was very clean, with a very generous welcome hamper waiting for us. After a long journey it was lovely not to have to pop to the shops immediately on arrival. The facilities were excellent, property well equipped,with everything you should need... Cooking, baking, toys for children of all ages, games for the adults... And a big TV to watch the world cup on! The garden was secluded and used by us daily and lots of parking space at the front of the house which was gated... Woodlands is situated well, with easy access to the new forest, beach and lots of nearby attractions. The owner Melissa contacted us during our stay to make sure everything was as expected and she was easy to contact with any queries. Highly recommend this property and hopefully will be returning in the near future.

We had a lovely family weekend staying at the Woodlands House.

We are a family of 10, including a 4 & 5 year old plus our family dog, a cocker spaniel. The house is very spacious and comfortable, a good location close to the country park and a short drive to the beach. We enjoyed our time there & especially with the amazing bank holiday weather! Melissa was a great host & especially when she had to post something back that we’d accidentally left behind !

This was a fabulous house to spend some quality time with 3 girlfriends and my Labrador.

The house was clean and spacious, with lots of seating in the kitchen/dining & sitting room areas. So lovely to have a bathroom each too! The garden was secure and big enough for a Lab to gallop around in. We had a couple of minor problems, contacted Sykes and Melissa was straight round to the house to help sort them out within an hour of us arriving. Melissa had provided some lovely essentials as well as wine and beer, which was very much appreciated. Woodlands is a gorgeous house and we were all so relaxed there. Thank you Melissa - we will definitely be coming back next year!

A lovely welcoming and extremely well equipped house that accommodated our family of six adults and five children, plus small dog, in superb and relaxing comfort.

Plenty of space in the driveway to turn round and ample room for our three cars. It is situated in a great location for visiting both the New Forest and the Bournemouth beaches just over 20 minutes away. The hot tub was well used and overlooked the secure garden for the children and prevented our escape artist dog, from making a run for it! All the beds were very comfortable with high quality toiletries in the four bathrooms that eased readiness for our daily excursions. We met the friendly owner who is very helpful in making sure you have everything you need and advising on local attractions, particularly the well equipped Moor Park Valley (within walking distance) that has numerous activities for all ages and plenty of paths for cycling and exercise for yourselves and dog. Thank you for making our stay memorable for all the right reasons and would definitely like to return.

Woodlands House is a beautiful, luxurious, large house which is very well located for a break close to Moors Country Park, the New Forest or the beaches of Bournemouth & Poole.

We stayed with another family and had a mix of teenagers and younger children aged 3-6yrs and everyone had a fantastic time. The owner has thought of so many little things which made our stay - so many books and games, packs of colouring pens, blankets, lovely toiletries, soft towels and quality linen. The children loved the “secret attic” above the bunkbeds and another hiding spot in the downstairs bedroom. Perfect for hide and seek! We all felt like we had plenty of space and weren’t on top of each other. The hot-tub was a success all round and welcome when the weather wasn’t so good. We really appreciated the welcome hamper which had treats for everyone. We would very happily return to Woodlands House and would definitely recommend it as a great holiday spot in a fantastic property.

Woodlands House is a lovely large property, ideal for our extended family of 11 - including grandparents and grandchildren.

It has a busy road running past but you can't really hear much traffic noise and it is secluded by trees all around. The bedrooms (especially the master) were lovely and very comfortable. We enjoyed lots of time in the hot tub and there is a large choice of games to play. When we arrived the heating wasn't switched on and it was cold inside but once we had located the switch we got the house warmed up nicely. The owner was very accommodating and friendly and said she would pop in if we had any problems. She also left an extensive hamper, which we all very much enjoyed. Thank you from all of us Melissa. There is a lot to do in the area and the house is within easy walking distance of Moors Valley Country Park.

It’s a beautiful house with a jacuzzi that my family and I truly enjoyed.

The property had absolutely everything we needed — and more — including plenty of games to keep both the kids and adults entertained. It was the perfect place for quality family time. The host also recommended visiting Moor Valley Country Park, which was just a five-minute drive away. It was absolutely beautiful, and we had such a lovely time exploring and enjoying the surroundings. The host was really nice, accommodating, and always easy to reach whenever we needed anything. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this home to others.
