    “We stayed over Christmas 2025 for a 10 day period as a party of 6 adults, a child and a baby plus a dog!”

    We loved the property. The lay out meant you had ample space in the kitchen area but were always close by to the living room and adjoining dining area. The log burner was wonderful to have on but the entire place is also fitted with underfloor heating and the reality was the house was very warm and cosy. The location meant you could walk your dogs in the field next door and we could easily walk to the pub (torches needed). We had day trips to numerous beaches and a large Tesco was only minutes ...

We would highly recommended this house.

The property

Culverwells is a detached property set in a quiet and tranquil rural village of Dalwood in East Devon.

The property has been decorated and furnished in keeping its charming country style whilst also benefiting from a large modern kitchen and bathrooms one with a jacuzzi bath and four bedrooms.

Why not take advantage of the wonderful sun room which has two walls of bi-fold doors which allow you to enjoy the spectacular views over the surrounding countryside.

This area is popular with walkers and has a variety of rambles possible from your own door.

The Tucker's Arms in the village is a beautiful thatched old English pub with a cosy interior which serves fine ales and good food with a warm atmosphere.

Culverwells is perfectly located for exploring the wonderful Jurassic coast with the popular seaside resorts of Lyme Regis perfect for fossil hunting, Beer, Seaton and Sidmouth just a short drive away.

Guests interested in indulging in local produce will find an abundance in the area, the acclaimed Lyme Bay Winery is a short drive away and farms throughout the area provide cheese and meat, whilst the proximity to the coast ensures fresh seafood.

A perfect property for a family or group of friends to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy breathing fresh country air close to the coast.

The market town of Axminster is set on the River Axe within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With the best of Devon and Dorset on its doorstep, Axminster is situated a few miles inland from the Jurassic Coast and in easy reach of the picturesque seaside destinations of Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Seaton and Beer. Famous for its carpets, Axminster has been synonymous with carpet luxury and craftsmanship for over 250 years and has many attractions for visitors including The Axe Valley Wildlife Park, Axminster Heritage Centre and The Flamingo swimming pool.
