We have to vacate by 10am, it is only a small cottage, I mean, 7 hours to prepare - really? Also we were surprised we had to strip the beds and bag the bedlinen and towels up for the cleaner. For the price we paid, which is comparable to a nice hotel and not something we would have to have done had we chosen to stay in one, it was a disappointing ...

On the check-in time, I completely understand your point. We have now revised this to 4pm for future guests.
Although seven hours may sound generous to turn a property of this size round, our housekeeping teams often have more than one clean to complete within this window. That said, when we know a property will be ready ahead of schedule, we do try to contact guests in advance, as we appreciate how valuable that extra time can be.
Regarding the request to strip the beds, I understand how this may have felt unexpected. For most of our properties, housekeeping and linen distribution are carried out by separate teams: housekeepers make the beds, while the laundry team collects the used linen and delivers clean sets — often to well over a hundred properties per day, particularly in peak season. If they were also responsible for stripping beds at every property, this would create delays that could affect both turnaround times and delivery schedules across the wider portfolio.
That said, I appreciate how this process can come across from a guest perspective, and I will ensure your comments are fed back internally.
