Ivy Cottage, semi-detached to its sister cottage Little Ivy, is a lovely thatched Grade II listed cottage dating from 1600s which sits on the village road leading to Lulworth Cove in Dorset.  In the heart of West Lulworth, one of the most popular villages along the coast in Dorset, Ivy retains many features such as original beams and the inglenook fireplace in the lounge - now with a cosy log burner.  Just a few minutes stroll from the property is Lulworth Cove, famous for its geologically unique and beautiful cove.  Walking down to the cove you will find tempting seasonal shops and kiosks including those specialising in ice cream, fudge and sea food.  Just a short walk away is the Dorset Coastal Path, where you have a choice of directions offering fantastic views and scenery.  Just a second away, The Castle Inn is pet friendly and has a good garden.  Also in Lulworth is Durdle Door, an iconic rock formation rising from the sea and resembling a doorway, do visit - it also has a popular beach offering snorkelling and cliff walks - remember your camera!   A kayak tour can be arranged locally from Lulworth and it's an experience to treasure as you are shown secret little pools, fossils and beaches.   Weymouth in the West and Swanage in the East are both traditional seaside towns around half an hour's drive away and perfect for a day trip.  After a fun filled day why not eat alfresco in the enclosed garden whilst enjoying the last of the day's sun?

Accommodation: Large Lounge with wood burning stove (first basket of logs provided between Oct-April). Kitchen.  Dining Room with inglenook fireplace.  Stairs to 1st floor. Bedroom 1, Kingsize double bed with ensuite shower, hand basin and toilet.  Bedroom 2, Double bed.  Bedroom 3, twin single beds.  Bathroom, bath and shower over, hand basin and toilet.

This was our first dog holiday in the UK, and we couldn't have chosen a nicer location or cottage. Ivy Cottage simply has everything you need, even dog towels & dog treats!! The beautiful cottage is so clean and comfortable that we didn't want to leave! Mel and hubby ((sorry forgot your name!), are so helpful and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. The Castle Inn pub is next door and most importantly, dog friendly and the food is good too! It's a short (doggy) walk to the beach, shops, restaurants and of course Durdle Door, there's also a great little Londis for essentials, which also has amazing homemade brownies and cakes! We will definitely be returning! Thanks for a great holiday! Stayed September 2017

We loved Ivy Cottage and will hopefully be back very soon! The property is lovely, clean, feels spacious and is in a great location. The garden is lovely with a great area to sit and relax after a days walking! The house was kitted out very well, a real 'home from home'. We have stayed at many properties in Lulworth and we feel Ivy Cottage has been the best. We will not hesitate in recommending it to others. Stayed April 2017

Ivy Cottage is in the picturesque village of Lulworth. It is deceptively spacious and well-equipped. It was very clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room for 6 adults one toddler one baby and the dog! We spent an enjoyable week exploring the area including Lulworth Cove and Castle and also The Blue Pool which is a lovely wooded area around the lake with a nice tea room and the Wareham Bears exhibition which the toddler loved. For the more energetic ones. walking over to see The Durdle Door which was a very steep climb both up and down. Great location!. Stayed September 2016

Absolutely fabulous holiday. Ivy cottage is gorgeous and in a lovely position. There was everything you could possibly need in the cottage. Myself the wife and 4 kids will definitely be visiting again - stayed August 2016

I chose this cottage to take my daughter, her partner, my grandson and my parents on a family holiday, so there was 4 generations staying at ivy cottage. We all had a lovely time and found the cottage to be divine. All the equipment we needed was there, the beds were comfortable and clean and the towels were fluffy and clean. We also found the pub next to the cottage very accommodating, who let as use their car park, and it was very convenient for something to eat. I suppose if I wanted to 'nitpick' there may have been some very minor issues, however I can't remember there being any so they must have been insignificant. Thank you for the welcome pack they were very 'welcome' indeed Stayed June 2016

The cottage was fantastic,it had everything you could possibly need including supplies for the dogs. The only thing missing was a pint glass for which we happily visited the pub next door who loaned them to us for the week.Great location just far enough from the cove to escape the crowds yet close enough to walk past the queues of traffic down to the beach. Lovely garden to retreat to after a day exploring.Would definitely stay again, loved it! Stayed June 2016

About the Location

Lulworth Cove is one of the most beautiful natural landforms in the world. Perfectly set along the Jurassic Coast, the area is steeped in geological history and the coastal path enables you to walk along for miles taking in the magnificent views of the cove. Along from Lulworth Cove is The Durdle Door, another fine landform that resembles a doorway in the sea where you can snorkel and swim and generally admire the beauty of it all. Then there is the village of West Lulworth, an absolutely charming village with thatched chocolate box cottages and a lovely cosy pub. A perfect countryside retreat by the sea.
