“Overall, a very positive experience - We've stayed here so often that it seems almost like a second home, and so much that we want to see or do is within easy walking distance.”

A small shelf would be preferable. 2. The towels apparently had been laundered with a strongly scented detergent. Could a more neutral alternative be found? 3. We were puzzled by the instructions to empty the lint filter on the washer/dryer, as we could not find one either on the machine itself, or in the ...

When sleep calls, head upstairs and catch your rest in one of the two charming bedrooms, a double and a twin.

A shower room completes the property's accommodation, where you can enjoy invigorating rinses in the double, glass enclosure.

The courtyard behind the property is the perfect space for alfresco dining, thanks to it being enclosed and featuring bistro furniture.

Embark on a short walk down to Poole Quay, where the intriguing attractions of the Poole Museum and RNLI Poole Lifeboat Museum await, alongside the delights of the Rapid Fisher Fishing Trips, South Coast Jet Ski Hire and the Poole Cycle Speedway.

After exploring the nearby sights, be sure to stop for something to eat at one of the waterside eateries, with the Italian restaurant of La Lupa and the seafood restaurant of the Poole Arms taking centre stage.

Spend some time in Sandbanks, a picture-postcard peninsula hosting the stunning sands of Cubs Beach and Sandbanks Beach, as well as sailing opportunities to Shell Bay.

Sandbanks is also home to Rick Stein's Restaurant, which boasts unspoilt views of the harbour and Brownsea Island; here you can sample a great selection of seafood dishes.

About the location

POOLE

Sandbanks 5 miles; Bournemouth 5.3 miles.

The town of Poole is dominated by one of the world's biggest natural harbours, which features five pine clad islands and regular boat trips. The largest of these islands is Brownsea Island, where Baden Powell began the Scout Movement. To the west is the 'Isle of Purbeck', which offers visitors scenic countryside, dotted with quaint villages and stunning seascapes, plus Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Corfe Castle are well worth a visit. The local beaches at Sandbanks provide excellent facilities for all kinds of watersports. Alternatively, visit the neighbouring family friendly seaside resort of Bournemouth and within driving distance is the fascinating New Forest National Park. An excellent holiday destination at any time of the year.
