Brilliant property Very comfortable beds Spotlessly clean Good location, though traffic noise can be heard Our only negatives…and this is just constructive criticism… - not enough room in bathroom to hang 3 - 4 towels, to dry them - would be good to either move wardrobe or have an extension socket so socket is nearer to mirror in main bedroom - to facilitate leaving by 10:00 am on departure day & to ensure thorough hygienic cleaning of crockery etc used that morning, it would be ...

Thank you for your kind feedback. We know you had a very restful sleep as you asked for the details of our beds which was lovely. Regarding drying of towels, we provide a washing line for when the weather is dry and an airer (in the cupboard) for the wet days which can be left in the conservatory while guests are out. We will have a think about the wardrobe and hairdryer situation as it's the first time anyone has ever raised it as an issue. Lots of our guests as they are leaving, fill the dishwasher and leave it on so all the items are cleaned so this would never be a problem. We really appreciate your score, we work really hard to ensure that Chesil Retreat is clean, tidy and a comfortable home from home. It would be lovely to welcome you back one day Property Owner

The property

Moments from Smallmouth beach, this elegant house is located on the outskirts of Weymouth between Portland Harbour and Chesil Beach.

Ideally positioned for the myriad of water sports and activities on offer in the immediate vicinity.

Chesil Retreat, a well-equipped two-storey house, invites families seeking to holiday in this well-known Dorset location, escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Wash off the sand in the garden after spending the day at the beach before relaxing in the luxurious living/dining room, turning on the TV, or retreating to the conservatory for a quiet book.

If you don’t fancy eating out at the local beach bar or seafood restaurant minutes from the house, your appointed chef can whip up their favourite recipe in the fully equipped kitchen.

Rear doors lead out from the conservatory to the enclosed back garden with decked area, table and chairs ideal for some ‘al fresco’ dining.

Choose between two tastefully decorated bedrooms as night falls; the master features a luxury king-size bed while the luxury twin beds are a terrific option for both adults and children.

You will be able to park your car and explore Weymouth and Portland on foot for the length of your stay because everything is so accessible.

Pick up some fish and chips and enjoy them while sitting on the harbour wall in Weymouth or visit the local café/bars or restaurants overlooking Portland harbour and watch the boats go by.

There are many attractions close by, including The National Sailing Academy, the magnificent golden sands of Weymouth beach, the Sea Life Centre, Sandworld, the old amusements in Alexandra Gardens, and Nothe Fort and Nothe Gardens, which are sure to excite any aspiring historians.

The Southwest coast path is right on the doorstep and takes in Portland's craggy "Isle," connected to the mainland by the 18-mile-long UNESCO world heritage site Chesil Beach.

The perfect home for a family of four wishing to holiday in Dorset is Chesil Retreat.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
