“We had a lovely week , the house was spotless, well equipped, & comfortable .”

we come to Weymouth twice a year & started staying in The maltings because the allocated parking is a god send & close to our favourite place Newtons cove & gardens , we would definitely stay here again , only issue was that the T.V signal was very bad , screen freezing & limited channels , retuning didn’t help , not really a issue in summer but winter time you tend not to go out in the evening , luckily We signed in the our Netflix , the welcome pack & milk in the fridge was a lovely touch

“Loved our stay property warm and very comfortable.”

Location amazing for easy walk into town. Handy area to let the dogs have a run a few minutes from the property and the beach is all dog friendly out of season and both ours loved it. Booking again very soon

It was clean, comfortable and ideally situated. One of the biggest bonuses was having a designated parking space. The welcome booklet was very informative and helped us to navigate the area. We would definitely stay again.

Had a great stay if there was only one thing I could change it would have been fridge definitely not big enough and wasn’t very cold milk and food were going off after a couple of days it also leaked water over everything but I don’t want that to define the stay it was a great comfy house

“This is our Second visit to the house.”

Great location and lovely house. The only issue we could find fault with was the TV . Signal was poor at times . We had a leak from the toilet during our stay which was dealt with very quickly. We all certainly had a lovely holiday and will be back to Rockpools soon. Thank you.

“Good location to access town and walking routes.”

Property had all that we needed for the week. We took our dog so the stair gate that is installed ensured he did not venture upstairs. The property was in a quiet area, so virtually silent at night. A parking space was a bonus. The beds and duvets were adequate, but I am comparing this to our bedding at home which is the best.Overall it was a great holiday. The weather was better than we could have expected in February, dry all week but very cold winds. We walked every day, and the range of wildlife in the nearby nature reserves was impressive, if that interests you. We will return in the future.

The house is beautiful and in the perfect place to be able to explore Portland and Weymouth easily. Bridget and Alan went out of their way to sort the dishwasher which was broken, sourcing and fitting a new one on the second day of our holiday which was really appreciated.

“The property was good with a lovely back garden.”

Situated very close to town so ideal to explore Weymouth or visit the fort. My main complaint was that the rubbish bin under the sink was left full and overflowing. Also the dishwasher had been used but left for us to empty. I would still recommend this property to others

“A lovely property with everything one needs in a home from home holiday stay.”

It is fantastically situated to access all local amenities; green area for a quick dog walk, beach, shops, harbour, Weymouth town and only a short walk away from the lesser known (but idyllic) sandy beach of Castle Cove. We could not fault anything about this property and would 100% recommend a stay here. Thank you for the little gift basket that was provided on our arrival - tea, coffee, biscuits, jam, sparkling drink - it was much appreciated after our journey down. “A great house in a great location.”

The beds were Comfortable and everywhere nicely decorated with everything you need and with lots of little extras that make a difference to your stay. Games, books, extra dishwasher tablets, washing powder, kitchen roll, hand soap things you normally have to go out and buy. I was a little worried by the fact that dogs were allowed but there was no sign that any had been there. Garden was great. Very small thing could do with some new pegs. Will definitely stay again if we come back.

“Rockpools is a lovely property, spotlessly clean and with everything you need.”

The location was perfect for us and our two little dogs, exercise area close by and some lovely walks. The garden was a sun trap when it did show its face, we visited lots of cafes and places to eat all within walking distance, as was the town and beach. I think you would be cramped with four adults as the lounge area is quite small and the two armchairs are not that comfy.

“This was our third year in a row for hiring this particular property.”

The location for our requirements with the dog(Bella) is excellent. Easy access to Newton's Cove & Nothe Gardens, town centre & beach within 10 minute walk. Shops bars restaurants all close by would suggest checking out Sandsfoot Castle beach usually quiet this time of the year lovely for the dog also. House is well kept clean & tidy located in a quiet Cul-de-sac. Just one thing we would like to suggest is that the changing of the chairs in the lounge wouldn't go a miss, the couch is comfortable but the chairs aren't. The previous two years the chairs were comfy. Overall we both think that you can't go wrong with hiring this house, yes probably will be back next year around the same time(November) quiet easy to access wherever you want to go..

“Beds comfy and overall house was clean and tidy.”

A good location to walk down into Weymouth. Not so good were the following. The two beige chairs in the lounge were too big, low, soft and uncomfy, need replacing. Bin under sink was found smelly and a bit dirty. Four light bulbs in the lounge were broken and the clock in the kitchen stopped working on Wednesday morning. The shower screens, bathroom titles and ceiling needs a good deep clean as black mold around. No anti slip mat for the slippery shower tray. Main things was heating we found was turned off at the boiler. Noisy neighbours, to the left of house from the front, disruptive one night from 1am to 2.30am, then an ambulance was called. Obviously the neighbour situation is beyond owners control but sadly it would put us off using Rockpools holiday house again.

In response to some of your feedback we had replaced the settee the week before you arrived and there was a delay on the chairs by a week so they have now been replaced, along with a much larger smart TV.. the extraction fan, causing the issue in the bathroom has also been fixed. “This property is ideally situated to get to most places.”

5 min walk to the harbour, then over the bridge and into town and the beach in another 5 minutes. The cliff tops are also a short walk away with stunning views. The property was modern, clean, with all the facilities needed for a holiday. I have used Sykes before and will continue to use them. I thoroughly recommend Sykes and their cottages for an enjoyable holiday. Lovely weather enhanced the holiday even more.

“This was the second year we've had this property & it didn't disappoint like last year.”

As we bring our dog (Bella) with us it's in the perfect location. The property is well looked after clean & tidy. The property is within easy walking distance to access the town & beach or explore the Nothe gardens plus coastal pathways out towards Portland. Comfort was only marked down as we didn't find the mattress very comfy; we fully understand though that you can't cater for everyone in this department.

Only two of us stayed in the 2 bed terraced. Way too small for 4 people. The rear garden needs attention, It clearly has been neglected for a while. All in All, because of the property’s location, we would stay at Rockpools again. Overall 8/10.

“The parking was easy.”

Lots of walks from the property to shops and beach. Plenty of things to see and do without using the car. Comfortable bed. Steps on garen path were a bit slippery when wet. Very nice holiday.We did like the complimentary biscuits that was left with the welcome pack.

“We were disappointed that there was a lot of dust about on many surfaces in the bedrooms and the living room.”

The beds were very comfortable and the facilities are excellent, particularly the bathroom. The location is ideal as it is within walking distance of the town centre where there are many shops and restaurants. Just one suggestion - we bought fresh fish from Weyfish by the harbour but we couldn’t find a fish slice in the kitchen and the frying pan is so warped that it doesn’t sit flat on the hob.

“We had a lovely stay, the property is well equipped & is the perfect size for two adults but can accommodate another two people.”

The proximity to everything was perfect for us. We would walk to the harbour & main beach every day with the dogs, around 30 mins steady walk passing Nothe Fort on route. The sea is literally around the corner from the property. The walk that leads from there was beautiful and great if you like taking photos. Perfect location. We would happily stay there again.

Brewers Quay and harbour just a few minutes walk. Also just a few minutes walk to a lovely dog exercise area with a fantastic view over towards Portland and Newtons Cove. My little dog loved it. Everyone was so friendly and we were really lucky with the weather it was red hot !! The house was really well equipped and very clean and with everything you could possibly need. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.

A few minutes from the property is the Rodwell trail, a great flat, off road pedestrian/cycle path reaching from Weymouth to Portland. Weymouth's main sandy beach is about a 10 minute walk away where there is golden sand (great for building sandcastles) and shallow safe clean water. Everything about Rockpools and its location make it the perfect place for you and your family to stay in Weymouth.
