A fantastic stay, the barn had everything we needed- the finish & cleanliness were of an exceptionally high standard.

Nici & Steve were fabulous hosts, very friendly & always willing to give recommendations for the local area. We loved our stay, seeing the alpacas everyday was the icing on the cake. We are already thinking about returning to Swallows nest next summer.

A beautiful property, well equipped, clean, very comfortable, spacious and set in a quiet location. Hosts (Nici and Steve) were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the welcoming pack was lovely especially the homemade cake.

Swallows Nest is a lovely barn conversion offering space and tranquility with a bit of added comfort.

The property has a very comfortable lounge/diner/kitchen area that is well equipped and offered all that we needed. The bathrooms (family & ensuite) are excellent offering modern facilities and good showers. The beds were super comfortable with good linen. Nici proved to be a welcoming and communicative host and was a genuine delight to meet. The location is excellent for covering all of rural Dorset and within easy reach of the coast, including the Isle of Purbeck. When next staying in the area, we wouldn't hesitate to return to Swallows Nest.

To say I am picky is an understatement, I have a lovely home which is well equipped and I expect the same in any holiday home I go too.

Swallows Nest surpassed that, from the beautiful location, the converted building, the lovely host attentive to your needs and the ambiance of it all. My husband, my assistance dog Finley and I had a lovely time. What made this holiday was the abundance of land away from motor vehicles, whereby we let Finley be off duty. He was so lovely watching him wriggling to be allowed off the lead, for him to be off smelling and coming across different wildlife from bunnies, hares and a deer (it might have been a monk jack) but for city folks like us we don’t know the difference. At night without all the light pollution you could gaze into the stars and the hot tub was brilliant. Poor Finley has been somewhat sad or flat since returning home and walking in the normal dog park. I would highly recommend this location and we would definitely be back (although maybe off season) as we were there when records were being broken with the temperature. Don’t procrastinate and book this location you will be pleased as we were.

We have stayed 5 times over the last 6 years.

That should tell you alot. The accommodation is spotless, very nicely decorated with a nice theam to it. Everything you need is provided. Better than most 5 star hotels we stay at. Niki & Steve are excellent hosts, about if you need them & very helpful. The views, the hot tub & the 3 boys ( Alpacas) all make it so peaceful and relaxing. We have already discussed coming back next year. It makes a lovely break. You will not be disappointed in any way if you choose to stay.

Very spacious barn conversion presented immaculately. As both a centre for peace and quiet with local walks around Sturminster Newton or touring the likes of Weymouth, Lulworth, Swanage, Bridport even the Isle of Wight it was great with the 3 friendly Alpacas and hot tub the icing on the cake.

Hosts were brilliant and very welcoming. Location was lovely and quiet. Hot tub brilliant and relaxing especially with the view. Lovely walks around the area too. Would go back again.

Nicki was an amazing host and we were greeted with a homemade cake, flowers and a bottle of Prosecco. My grandson loved watching the alpacas and the view from the hot tub was beautiful 10/10

This is a beautiful, well equipped barn conversion; in a peaceful and tranquil area.

The hot tub is relaxing after a day of exploring. It's a great base for exploring Dorset. The town of Sturminter Newton is about a 40 minutes flat walk away and there are some really good pubs serving food within a 10-20 minutes drive away. Definitely one on the list to revisit.

Nici the owner was lovely the place itself was outstanding if you want to explore Dorset this as a base is perfect in every way you're in a great central spot to visit all Dorset has to offer and come back to a tranquil secluded place to relax and unwind the barn conversion is done to a tasteful and very high standard we could have easily just moved in and stayed it was a home away from home. Keep up the good work Nici

So peaceful and set in beautiful surroundings. Nici, the owner, was always there if you needed anything. This is by far the best place we have ever stayed at and look forward to returning soon

The barn is to a high standard and is equipped well. We had a lovely week there with our friendly neighbours, The Alpacas, and we loved the hot tub. We would like to come back again one day. Thanks to the owners for their kind hospitality !

We had a great week in lovely accommodation but very disappointed that, even following ALL instructions -the hot tub wasn’t maintained and became unusable by the last 2 days.

It was one of the main reasons for choosing swallows nest.

We had a fantastic few days, the barn was awesome with everything you needed and a great hot tub.

This is a lovely place to stay.

The house was spotlessly clean and was bright and airey. There was a lovely welcome tray and the owners are helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The llamas are a just gorgeous and young children will love them. We also made good use of the hot tub which was checked by the owners each day. Dorset is a lovely part of the country with much to see and do.

The accommodation was spot on, down to the comfy beds and hot tub which was well maintained during our stay. Nic and Steve were friendly and welcoming hosts and looked after us well. Quiet and relaxing setting with the lovely Sturminster Newton down the road with great pubs, shops and takeaways.

It's such a fabulous and stylish place, lots of space, incredibly clean and in such a peaceful setting. It was idyllic sitting in the hot tub and watching the alpacas! The owner was incredibly helpful, and there was delicious cake and fizz on arrival. It's also an ideal location for exploring Dorset. We hope to return!

..what’s not to love! Central to lots of lovely places to visit, whether market towns, beaches, national trust or other houses and gardens - we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great location for visiting a range of places - Cheddar Gorge, Poole, Bournemouth, Bath. Hot tub was amazing & very clean.(it’s checked daily by the owners) Alpacas were delightful to watch. Cake & Prosecco on arrival!

This property is absolutely fabulous everything in the cottage was first class , the welcome pack including a home made sponge cake (which was delicious) was lovely, the views over the fields were lovely only broken at times with the beautiful alpacas calos pedro and bruno Steve and Nici are the best hoists you could wish for, it was along drive for us to this lovely part of the country but was we worth it x

Everything was spotless, well equipped and comfortable. The hot tub was used a lot and it is also in a great location to reach beautiful places like Durdle Door. We loved all of the little touches and the owners were especially very friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you so much for having us and we hope to come back again soon

The barn was fantastic and very clean.

The location was idyllic and the hosts Nici & Steve were lovely and friendly. We really enjoyed the fact that our kids could run free and be at one with nature. The hot tub was an added bonus, and we really enjoyed relaxing and looking at the stars at night time. The barn is ideally located with Sturminster Newton just a short drive away. There are numerous other villages and towns within easy reach too. One other bonus to mention is that Steve is also a hot air balloon pilot and often has spare spaces. My wife Poppy was extremely fortunate to take a flight and had the most amazing once in a life time experience! We will definitely be back to Swallows Nest in the near future. Many thanks Colin, Poppy, the kids and dog!!

What an amazing place for a relaxing stay.

The host (Nici) was amazing and so friendly the cottage was very clean and comfortable. The highlight was sitting in the hot tub watching the stars. What a great week away. The cottage is in a farm so it’s really quiet and has Alpaca’s in the field next door. It’s ideally suited for visiting anywhere in Dorset with stunning countryside and coastline within easy reach. This is easily the best holiday cottage we’ve ever stayed in and we’ll definitely be back!

We enjoyed a 2 night stay here in November, a beautiful modern accommodation, had everything we needed on hand, shame it was too cold to enjoy the hot tub (maybe next time!

) Lovely having the alpacas around to watch too, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and very much looking to visiting again when it’s warmer.

We was greeted with a lovely welcome package to start our vacation. We was given a warm overview of the place by Nici who also showed us the adorable alpacas that you could watch. The prime location for your getaway!

Nici and Steve were perfect hosts, welcoming us upon arrival, letting us know about local walks and the surrounding area. The barn is new and was perfect for our needs. The beds were comfortable, the hot tub was lovely, and the welcome gifts added the wow factor. Highly recommended.

We made our booking for Swallow's Nest very last minute and it seems we stumbled on it on the very first day it was listed on the Sykes site.

We loved the look of it and booked it immediately. The property was brand new and we were only the second group to stay in it and we absolutely loved it. The house has been beautifully designed and built to a very high standard - as has its neighbouring property. The accommodation is comfortable and spacious - the hot tub was great and we loved watching the three alpacas in the adjacent field. The location is perfect for walking and generally exploring the many towns and villages around Dorset. The owners, Steve and Nicci were wonderful hosts and gave us many great tips on places to visit and restaurants & cafes for meals out. We had a superb holiday there and really hope to go back again next year.

Swallows Nest was a lovely holiday rental, the hot tub we absolutely loved.

We were greeted by Nicci and any questions answered. Immaculately presented, the addition of the flowers and welcome tray was a nice touch. Swallows Nest is set in a peaceful location compete with Alpacas! We would go again.
