What guests are saying
The house was attractive, interesting and comfortable, albeit a bit of a rabbit warren.
We were forewarned about the steps throughout the house, which were less than obvious due to the carpeting. The gardens were brilliant for our dogs, which were clearly sad to leave (as we were). We loved the country views, the quiet and the dark skies for star-gazing. Minor maintenance issues were present but the only one of significance was the lack of a bathmat for safety when showering. Overall, we had a wonderful break.
Due to some unexpected medical issues, we informed the keyholder of our delay and then having to leave a day early for the same reason, (had been advised by the consultant and then our surgery etc that we would be ok to take the break) the cottage is almost exactly the same as our previous visit in May 2024, so peaceful and quiet, coming from an outer city area the sky at night was an abundance of stars,we experienced two problems, 1 being it is dog friendly and although their is a notice to keep dogs of the furniture, the settees in the lovely conservatory was spoilt because of the smell of dogs every time you sat down, obviously the dog owners ignored the polite signage, and secondly the take over/hand over times, too late a take over and too early a departure, it was not an issue this time, for the above reasons but we made this point on our previous visit it wastes almost a whole day of anyones holiday.
as we were leaving early we were greeted by the keyholder which was a nice gesture.
The cottage was lovely and very beautiful.
My main concern is the agents prices on all their listed properties.I think like every one else that the agents are deliberately pushing up prices, particularly in the summer holidays. It's highly advised to get to know the property owner, that way the price on you're next visit will be much more realistic.
