“This is a delightful, attractively presented property in an idyllic village, quiet but centrally situated to explore most of Dorset easily.”

We would love to return. Our visit was during a very warm week in May so we did not have to use the heating. Nor did we use the oven or dishwasher so cannot comment on those. Just a few minor points: an anti-slip mat for the shower would be safer, especially for us older types; the contents of the blue information folder could do with some updating as some of the information seems to relate to the Covid era. For example there are contradictory instructions about what to do with the bedding ...

For example there are contradictory instructions about what to do with the bedding when guests leave (compared with the information on the website). In one place it says you can check in at 2pm but I think the Sykes standard is 3pm. The microwave was easy to figure out but the instructions relate to the previous model. The bin pedal is broken. Previous reviewers have commented on parking. In our limited, week long experience we were usually able to park away from the telegraph pole, but still outside the property to allow service vehicles passage on the narrow road. Perhaps this varies from month to month.

Thank you very much for your feedback and we are pleased upi are happy with our lovely cottage. I am sorry you felt the check in time was uncertain, you are correct in that Dream Cottages standard time is 3.00 pm. The instructions for the bedding, which is in our on site details, is that since the Covid issue, we would request quests to remove the sheets from the bed and place in the laundry bag. This procedure , although started during the Covid era is still in place, and as such not an outdated request. We have taken on board your other comments and appreciate this feedback which has enabled us to review some issues. Property Owner

The property

Blueberry Cottage is a pretty holiday home situated in the picture postcard Dorset village of Sutton Poyntz. Take a walk to a nearby duck pond and try out the Springhead country pub which has a reputation for good food and a family atmosphere.

The village is surrounded by excellent country walks for those who like to ramble; a local co-op store is also within walking distance.

Relax on the sofa in front of TV or enjoy a cup of tea by the window whilst waiting for dinner cooked in a bright and very spacious kitchen.

The sunny patio garden at Blueberry Cottage is the perfect location to relax and enjoy an evening sundowner.

The village is just a couple of miles from the nearest beach at Bowleaze Cove, with a main resort beach and the town centre of Weymouth another mile further on.

Alternatively, you may wish to visit one of South Dorset's unique attractions such as Monkey World or the Jurassic Coastline for fossil hunting or enjoying spectacular sea views which are all easily accessible. Blueberry Cottage marries the best combination of a modern yet sympathetically renovated cottage coupled with an internal standard you are looking for and a location that is perfect for coastal and country pursuits as well as exploring all the visitor attractions south Dorset has to offer.

About the location

SUTTON POYNTZ

Weymouth 3.7 miles; Dorchester 5.4 miles

Sutton Poyntz is a small village on the northern side of Preston, on the outskirts of Weymouth, and it sits beneath the George III chalk horse that is carved into the hillside. At the centre of the village sits a beautiful duck pond, and the Springhead pub, where you can enjoy a drink in the pub gardens whilst admiring the chalk horse carving. Just 3.5 miles from Weymouth and it’s golden sandy beach, lanes of boutique shops, sea life centre and historic harbour this is a perfect village base for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Just 13 miles away are the UNESCO world Heritage sites of Lulworth Cove and Durdle, a short drive further on finds you at Corfe Castle, most recently known for being the inspiration behind many Enid Blyton Famous Five novels. Make sure you take a trip on the steam train on the Swanage Railway, which passes the magnificent ruins. A charming base to choose in a stunning part of Dorset.
