Blanche Cottage

Blanche cottage is gorgeous and walking distance to everything with everything you need inside the property and close by.

Well kept and so lovely. Great check in and check out. I’d recommend Blanche cottage to anybody however I wouldn’t recommend going through Sykes unfortunately. We reached out to Sykes the next day about a coat left (totally our fault for forgetting the coat). We knew exactly where it was left. Finding the right way to reach out through Sykes was difficult in itself after trying to call and being given no options but to message we messaged. We did so immediately the next day about the coat as it was a present. Contact as difficult through watsapp and Sykes kept closing the conversation without a resolution. I had to chase constantly through message, having to restart the same issue with someone new everytime instead of a call, couldn’t speak directly to the property and only almost 1 month later have they told me it couldn’t be found. Blanche is 1000/10. Sykes was dissapointing.

We absolutely adore this cottage and this is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here.

It is nice and clean and fits our needs perfectly. I love how close to most things it is too. We will definitely be returning

Not sure what to add really, it was all good.

No issues with any facilities. Easy access to Weymouth, all just a short walk away. The house is over three floors, top of the house was perfect for my 14 year old daughter. Single room for my son on first floor and adjacent master bedroom. The stairs are steep and tight, I treated like a ladder so held the balustrade/banister and 'climbed' down my family thought it funny but going down 'normal' I always caught my feet!. Would definitely recommend and if I come back to Weymouth will consider Blanche Cottage again.

What a lovley cosy cottage , really well looked after and maintained.

Perfect location at the top of the steps leading to newtons cove . Quiet and out the way from all the hustle and noise of the harbour but also only a 2-4 minute walk away . Will definitely be booking this cottage again. One of the best we’ve stayed in.

We had the pleasure at staying at Blanche Cottage for three nights in September.

Arriving by train from London, it was an easy walk through town to get to the cottage. We found the location was perfect for topping up on groceries from the small grocery store a five minute walk away or catching one of the tour boats a six minute walk away or watching the fishermen or the ocean swimmers, a 30 second walk away. The cottage had been beautifully restored with a state-of -the-art kitchen and appliances and lovely furnishing throughout. We had read about the steep stairs to the bedrooms but we are spry 77 year olds and had no problem, however if you have bad knees, or toddler-age children, this cottage might not be ideal for you. The only bathroom is on the main floor and the bedrooms are all upstairs. The beds were very comfortable with high quality bedding and décor in both bedrooms. We didn’t need or use the top floor bedroom. The welcome tray of teas and coffees and cookies were most appreciated. In summary, a lovely place to stay on our Weymouth holiday.

The cottage is very comfortable, clean, very well furnished with what we needed.

The location is fabulous. Interior décor is lovely and calming and we made great use of the books and guides plus the folder with all the recommendations, guides, etc was very helpful. Accessing the bedrooms is not easy for people who are less able but that's our fault for not reading the details properly. Just a few other comments though - in the very top bedroom there were rips in both the pillow and duvet on the right hand bed, I think only one toilet in the property for potentially 5 adults is not enough and it being located on the ground floor makes access difficult. Last thing - again there could potentially be five adults in the property and the toaster only being able to take 2 slices made breakfast very slow - a minor comment but not all visitors can afford to eat out for every meal and the four of us had breakfast in the cottage each morning. That aside we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be coming back. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at Blanche Cottage.

A lovely cottage with great decor. It had everything we needed, making our time there easy and enjoyable. The garden in the evening is a suntrap, so a warm way to wind down. The location is great - seconds away from the sea, minutes from nearby places to eat and drink, and shops within easy walking distance.

We loved our stay at Blanche cottage, it was really clean and had all the facilities we needed.

It was comfortable and in a great area. The only downside was the parking even though Nothe forte parking is 5 mins walk away the street is narrow and have to walk on the road with kids which isn’t great. Also for loading/ unloading.

This is a lovely cottage close to the centre of Weymouth.

It looks like it’s been recently painted/refurbed, with lots of quirky little touches. Beds are comfortable and kitchen it well equipped, although more tall glasses needed . Nice size dining table. It was nice and clean. Nice views of sea just outside front door. Quiet location. The parking situation is a bit of a pain, parking is 5 minutes walk from cottage to carpark and the pavement situation in between is not the best, so bringing bags plus children back and fourth was not ideal. Be warned the stairs are very steep and the landing area very tight. So you have to be quite mobile and the set up did make me nervous with 4 year old. However my 8 year old, loved the loft space. The only toilet/shower is downstairs. Shower is fine but the toilet seat was awful. It was broken and incorrect fit for toilet, so kept throwing you off/sliding about. The sofa is uncomfortable and could do with some investment. Easy to get into town and close to Nothe Fort, nice watching the swimmers from the small bay at bottom of stairs.

Blythe cottage Location of the house is great for those without a car - walking distance to train station, local beaches, shops, cafes and lots of places to eat out.

The house is in a quiet area just next to a quiet pebble beach where local swimmers gather. Weymouth beach is busy but nice - they have a fun fair on the beach, nice sand and swimming too. You're able to hire chairs and windbreaks etc quite cheaply. Felt restful and peaceful but also local things to do if you're interested. House is really lovely - nicely decorated with well equipped kitchen for cooking. Recycling is only possible taking it to local centre so probably not viable unless you have car. Bathroom is downstairs. Stairs are all quite narrow and steep so something to bear in mind if you have mobility issues. Would be suitable for couple, group or family but note that one of the bedrooms leads to another if privacy would be an issue. No streaming accounts pre-given on TV but can sign into your own streaming accounts. Nice garden, but with the sea so close by that's definitely the main draw! Couple notes: toilet seat doesn't currently fit so that needs some attention from the owners/management company. Also, couldn't see that there were any summer (low tog) duvets provided (although may have missed them) - didn't affect us as weather wasn't that warm, but in hotter weather other options would be helpful. There is underfloor heating on the ground floor which we had to turn on as it got a bit chilly, but bear in mind if takes about 3-4 hours to heat up and even then it's only in certain areas. There is a gas fire which we couldn't figure out but to be fair we're not super familiar with them. All in all we had a lovely stay!
