The cottage was in a beautiful location in the countyside and was fully equipped with all your needs for a great holiday.

The whole family loved the cottage light and airy space and shared games room. Will stay again

A really lovely stay.

Accommodation was first class. Really well equipped with everything you need/ want or didn’t know you needed!!!! Games, books, dvds played and watched around the log burner! Electric charging station for those with electric cars. Great if you wanted a large gathering as all the units share a central courtyard. Each cottage has its own garden too so great if you bring a dog. The games room is amazing and our kids loved it. Please note that the accomodation is set down a country road. The village is about 3/4 mile down the road. You will need a car to get around. Loads to do in the area. We went to the signals museum and Blandford Museum. Both excellent for children with lots of hands on things to keep them amused, Great coffee shops in Blandford too!

Overall a lovely accommodation.

Great location in the countryside. Cosy open plan living area with an excellent log burner which heats the large space very efficiently. Plenty of crockery and glasses and everything needed in the kitchen. No storage for perishable foodstuffs strangely. We had an issue with the door of the en-suite which wouldn’t close. On contacting the manager we were informed this was due to an earlier water leak in the loft. Apparently no chance of fixing it as it needed to dry out completely. It would have been better to have been informed of this before we arrived. The other annoying thing was the oven light wasn’t working and when I tried to remove the glass cover to endeavour to change the bulb. It was so black and gunged up it wouldn’t unscrew. Small things but I feel it takes away the higher grading of the property. Plenty of storage in the bedrooms. Maybe a king size bed would improve the main bedroom. There were only four people in our party and seating six in the lounge area would be very tight. We did enjoy our stay and the addition of a Christmas tree was lovely. Would recommend and we would stay again.

This is our 2nd year here, love it.

lovely clean well equipped cottage in a peaceful rural setting. Safe fenced front garden space for dogs and kids..Games room is great for the grandkids. Near to lots of places to visit.Only minus is the Internet,but lots of videos and we didn't miss TV always bring books.Hope to return next year.

Property was lovely surroundings were lovely holiday was ruined by the amount of flies.

In excess of 30 flies every day dropping into food drinks etc.

Well equipped. We were lucky had lovely weather we were able to sit outside & enjoy lovely warm summer evenings.

We had a wonderful short break with family, the accommodation was perfect and they were wonderfully accommodating at the last minute to provide us with ramps for the wheelchair up the step to the bedrooms.

A lovely barn with great layout.

Very warm and comfortable had everything we needed. Very pretty area and not too far from town. Would definitely stay again as and when we visit Dorset.

Great place for a get together with family.

Nice location and very comfortable and clean accommodation. The kitchen had everything required to cook for the five of us. The only tiny tiny fault was that only one T towel was provided so advice to bring a couple of spare. Overall a great place and we would definitely stay again.

Only one thing, a bigger frying pan would be good, we had a bit of trouble trying to cook Spag Bol for 6 people in the small one.

The only reason I gave accuracy of the listing a low score is because the listing didn't mention there are 2 steps up to the corridor where the bedrooms and toilet is.

I managed but we only stayed 3 nights & had it been any longer I would have been annoyed. I think the listing should definitely mention the steps. We have booked again next year but are staying in the Corner Barn which I believe is all 1 level.

We were so pleased with the accommodation.

Everything we needed was there, mom and dad have never been on a cottage holiday, so having a very beautiful place to stay was such a positive for them. The walks across the road were lovely with beautiful views. We went out everyday to different seaside towns and villages, which were about an hour away. As mom and dad have disabilities the accommodation suited us well. A couple of things would make it even better, for instance, a grab rail in the shower, and the two steps(as don't always need the ramp) and maybe a chair that's a little higher as dad had to sit in wheelchair, as he couldn't get off sofa. And to top it all we had fantastic weather. We would definitely like to return. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.❤️

We had a wonderful holiday.

The Old Cart Shed was perfect and it was in the ideal location to visit places like Weymouth Swanage Kimmeridge Bay and Shaftesbury. The cottage was very comfortable and contained everything we could possibly need. Leanne was very friendly and helpful and she was sorted out a little problem we encountered really quickly. We hope to return again in the future.

It was a joy to have more than everything we needed!

So many times we've rented cottages where there's 'just enough' crockery and cutlery/barely enough cooking utensils etc. There was plenty here, and other added thoughtful items too. It was also useful to have such a thorough manual. The games room was well used by us - a great thing to have. Lastly, the super walks, lovely countryside, so much to do in Dorset, and the feeling that you're being 'welcomed' at the farm (along with our dogs); not a hinderance.

It was a very well needed break and we had such a lovely time. The location is beautiful and the property is so spacious and well maintained. I would highly recommend your cottage to anyone who is thinking about staying there and also to friends and family. My autistic son struggled to stay there the first night as he has never stayed away from home before but by the time it came to leave, he didn't want to come home and he wants to live there. Thank you again for an unforgettable experience and we will never forget our wonderful stay in your cottage.

Great clean and comfortable accommodation with a well equipped kitchen.

The master bedroom might benefit from a television as if a party of 6 then some might wish to use the lounge for other activities which is where the current television is situated. Ample parking and facilities in the local town. Ease of access to this by car. Genuinely lovely

This is our second time at the old cart shed and we enjoyed it as much as the first time.

Couldn't find where to leave rubbish and the bucket for ashes for the fire was full of other stuff so not sure what to do with cleaning the fire/wood burner The WiFi is very poor and needs rethinking.

Its a basic requirement for almost everyone nowadays. Loved the property and enjoyed the tranquility

The old cart shed exceeded expectations.

Very well equipped and clean. The one problem we encountered was resolved quickly by the manager but could have been avoided with a little more maintenance. Would definitely return and recommend this property.

We had a lovely stay at The Old Cart Shed, it was ideally placed to visit lots of attractions, and was clean and comfortable.

The lights in the lounge were very dim, but aside from that it was great. Liked the fenced off garden at the front of the cottage which made it easy with dogs, and especially liked the car charging points, which made it so easy to charge our car in the evening without having to search for a charging point, wasting valuable holiday time. Plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 dogs (thank you for letting us bring 3) Didn’t use the games room but it looked impressive. Would happily return.

We were 6 teachers from Dorset attending a wedding in Shillingstone.

We were amazed at the comfort, cleanliness and facilities of the property-so much so, we have recommended the location to friends and family.If I had to be picky, stripping the beds in the morning felt a little 'like home' and took a slight edge off the experience as was worried about the 'rules'.However, that was a slight gripe as we loved the property.Thank you to the owners-we will definitely be back!!x

Lovely, comfortable place to stay, lots of great walks and fantastic scenery within walking g distance ce of cart shed bit isolated apart from farm and other cottages, shops a few miles away but no worries, plenty of places to visit and 45 mins from.

Coastal spits. A little oasis

This was the best self catering cottage we had ever stayed in you could not fault anything would recommend to anyone.

The only thing to mainly make a constructive criticism, is that the lighting in the main kitchen/dining/lounge area was very dull.

We ended up using a couple of bedroom bed side table lights in that area. Other than that, it was really lovely and welcoming

Photos don't do it justice. Everything was very nice quality and clean. Would definitely come back again. Loads to do within 30 min drive. Lovely peaceful place to rest at the end of a busy day out.

The Old Cart Shed is modern and well-equipped and is the perfect location for a peaceful holiday in Dorset. We enjoyed trips to the Jurassic Coast as well as short walks along local trails. We didn't want to leave!

Possibly one of the best cottages we've stayed in.

Fantastic location with lots to do and see within a reasonable distance. Great walking area and we particularly enjoyed a stroll through the bluebell woods nearby. The cottage itself was wonderfully clean and had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The beds were very comfortable and we would have no problem recommending this cottage.

A superbly welcoming cottage with a terrific games rooms for older children and adults.

Very comfortable with home from home amenities. We hope to return thanks to the immaculate cleanliness, welcoming touches, comfort and location. The only thing that some may look for in the summer is a private garden to relax in.

The Old Cart Shed is super, it is clean, spacious and comfortable and a good base for exploring Dorset.

It’s the first holiday accommodation we’ve stayed at where I haven’t felt the need to cleaned and wash everything before we unpack.

The place literally was spotless!!! It was so nice and relaxing, very comfortable, books to read, to to watch, games next door in the barn, again, very clean! The beds were lovely and clean and comfortable. The outside area kept clean! The property was dog friendly and did not smell off dog at all! Dishwasher and washing machine e tabs provided, yea, coffee and sugar also! Plus milk and biscuits upon arrival!! Look… stop reading this and jolly well get on and book it!!!! We are definitely going back there again!!!!

We had a lovely stay.

Very cosy, comfy sofas and beds, well equipped kitchen and sparkling clean throughout. The wood burner was great, with a generous helping of logs. Highly recommended.

We had a great time at The Old Cart Shed, it was very clean, comfortable, warm, hot water at all times of the day and very well equipped even down to Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Washing Powder, Dishwasher Tablets, Washing Up Liquid etc.

Our break at the old car shed cottage was absolutely wonderful.

The old cart shed was absolutely home from home you couldn’t wish for a better place to stay in

We had an extremely nice and comfortable stay at the Old Cart Shed at Hedge End Farm.

Communication and arrangements were all very clear and went smoothly. It was generally very clean and everything worked well. The surroundings are really beautiful and the views out over the fields are great. We would definitely come back to this, or one of the other cottages at Hedge End Farm in the future. The only minor issue to mention was that the en suite bathroom off the master bedroom has quite a strong musty smell - would be worth trying to do something about that as it was the only problem with anything really.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Cart Shed.

The accommodation was more spacious than we thought, really clean and well looked after, comfortable and pet friendly. It was great to have a fully working kitchen complete with washing machine & a enclosed outdoor space to enjoy. Would definitely come back and stay for longer next time

Ideal place to stay if you love countryside,1st time in dorset and really loved it.

The cottage is about 20-30 mins drive away to any of the coastal places(durdle door,poole,Bournemouth but we enjoyed it.The cottage was well equipped with all mod-cons,comfortable beds but the pillows were a bit hard.I would recommend this place,we had a lovely time.

The accommodation was exactly as had been described.

Quiet, clean, spacious and light and airy. It was unfortunate that the games room was closed, although we had been warned that this was the case.

It was a very relaxing experience helped by the lovely location and we'll presented accommodation it had everything we needed and wss exceptionally clean throughout definitely worth a revisited next year

Accommodation levels were very good although a few things are starting to look a bit tired and used.

The leather couches and fridge freezer have seen better days, but are still just about acceptable. It would have been nice to have catches on the patio doors when open to prevent them swinging in the breeze and slamming shut. The equipment in the cottage was otherwise of a very good standard and would recommend to anyone to stay. Cleanliness was of a very good standard. Would have been nice to meet the owners.

The nearest pub is quite a walk away.

This is one of our best holidays till date.

The cottage was beautiful and very very clean. Superb location, relaxing and calm. The property manager was very polite and our kids thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, it is my 10 year old son who wanted me to write a review definitely as he thoroughly enjoyed it. I will fully recommend this cottage to anyone as we enjoyed everything about it.

Was bigger than we expected and was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was very well equipped and the games room next door was an added bonus. Will definitely be recommending to my friends.

we where a bit disappointed that nothing was said to us about there being two steps between the living and sleeping areas, or that there were ramps available to us on these steps.

I had to take my wife out the front door across grass and into our bedroom via french doors at night and in the morning . otherwise the cottage was very good. We also felt it would be good idea to have some grab rails over the bath, as this would help older people not to have a fall. We would like these facts brought to the attention of the owners.

For us the warped gate, which was difficult to close, was a problem as we had a toddler so needed to keep it closed.

The 4 year old couldn’t open it from outside either when he visited his cousins in the Old Stables. The children loved the barn and it was nice to borrow toys when something was being made or played with but it was dinner time. Being picky- a fly screen would be good at the door!

We had a brilliant break and the accommodation is so well equipped that our family that live locally were able to visit and there was enough space for us all to get together for a pre-christmas catch up.

Thank you for the amazing little touches as well the Christmas tree, mince pies and logs for the fire were lovely.

Perfect holiday for us as we have young children and not having to worry about stairgates is a plus as well as having an enclosed garden for the children to run around is great.

The games room was really good for both our teenage children and a our very young grand-children. One of the best places that we visited was the Bovington Camp Tank Museum and if you are looking for a nice small beach Swanage is highly recommended.
