Quirky, comfortable and well equipped and tastefully decorated historic cottage in a pretty village in the heart of the Dorset countryside.

Beautiful countryside walks from the doorstep, but you need a car to reach shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs in nearby towns and villages. Friendly and helpful owners live next door.

The Elbow is the most beautifully furnished and decorated cottage.

You immediately feel at home because of all the finishing touches including the lovely artwork. The kitchen is very well equipped with all electrical appliances. Even washing up liquid was supplied! The 2nd bedroom, with ensuite shower room, makes a delightful childrens' room with it's nautical theme. The master bedroom is again, tastefully furnished. The stairs leading up to the ensuite are fairly steep and would not be suitable for somebody with bad hips or knees. There is a beautiful deep roll top bath, which could do with a slip mat for safety reasons. I would have also liked a hose attachment to enable hair washing. Hoqever, the ambient lighting , giving a candle lit effect around the bath made this a romantic setting. My only negative remark would be the mattress on the king-size bed was very hard. The cottage is well located for sightseeing with easy access to major roads, the cottage is delightful and the owners were very welcoming and informative. I suspect we will return in the future.

This is a pleasant, comfortable, thatched cottage surrounded by roses, immaculately clean and with a nice welcome pack.

A couple of things surprised us, though it may be our fault for not looking harder! First, it was on quite a busy road (at least for country dwellers like ourselves), and second, it was one of several linked properties. Our neighbours were very quiet but woke me at 5.30 using the bathroom. Finally, we were informed about the steps to the ensuite bathroom, but these really are a spiral staircase. I could manage it, but my 80-year-old husband could not.
