What guests are saying
The Wi-Fi was totally unusable.
We had to get all Internet from our phones. BBC iPlayer wouldn’t work because of lack of Wi-Fi. We told the managing company about the Wi-Fi issues they told us they would make a note of it but we could also see the other people had complained about, it so I imagine that note would be just filed in the bin. Parking is a problem, not just because you have to park away from the property, but because of the availability of spaces.
The cottage was lovely.
Enjoyed our stay. It was very well appointed and decoration was wonderful. However the oven door did not close so when using the oven had to jam it closed by putting a kitchen chair in front of the oven. I am sure the owners are aware but the cottage smells of damp and we had to have the windows open. There was mould growing on the right hand side at in the corner of the main bedroom and also along the join of the wall and ceiling in the same bedroom. That said we would not hesitate to come back and stay again, it was ideal for our little family. We noted the comments made by other reviewers on the limited car parking and the variable WIFI so this was not a surprise and we were prepared for that. Overall, it was wonderful and we had a lovely time. A big plus point for us was the outside space and we used this every day.
Overall a lovely cottage, had almost everything we needed.
Positives: great location, clean and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen and lots of hot water. Beds were ok, blackout blinds in bedrooms and plenty of towels provided. Negatives: internet is shockingly bad! Nasty smell of ammonia in the lower kitchen cupboards. Reported but no source found. Minor points: a bottle of toilet cleaner would have been useful just to give the loo a scrub. 1 toilet roll for a weeks rental seems very cheap. Please Note: Parking can be a nightmare, so be prepared to walk a fair distance to/from the car.
