A few things left us disappointed and would stop us returning.

Overall cleanliness wasn't great, from cobwebs to less-than-clean floors. The bathroom is downstairs, which wasn't clear from the listing, and this was inconvenient for trips to the WC during the night. Our main issue was the busy road directly outside the property. There is no pavement, and walking with dogs required extra care. Parking was also an issue, with limited parking spaces around the village. It felt like a lottery finding a space each time we went out. That said, the location and the village itself are beautiful, with the beach within walking distance and West Bay and Bridport only a five-minute drive away. It is great for dogs, with some beautiful coastal walks within easy reach. The kettle could also do with being replaced or descaled, as it was in a poor state.

Thank you for a great stay at Lilac Cottage.

It was lovely and clean when we arrived. Lovely comfortable beds! Super garden (thriving despite the heatwave, we watered it for you!). Only a few things that could be better. One that isn't really something that the owners can change - but in this day and age it should be possible to recycle your rubbish in a holiday cottage. It seems bananas that the council considers holiday cottage waste as trade waste. Perhaps the management company can offer this? Or a cleaning company? Also the shower head - although lots of water comes out of it, it isn't directed as a spray. I can see why - the slant of the roof makes it difficult to get the right angle on it.
