Fiddlesticks Cottage

We enjoyed a few days in Fiddlesticks Cottage.

It was comfy, clean and a peaceful corner to stay in whilst being handy for the shops, cafes and pubs just round the corner. We did some good walks as well starting from the cottage so no need to travel, but a trip to Bridport and the coast just an easy 20 minute drive

Nice little cottage although quite expensive we thought.

Garden furniture very old and not suitable for four people. Also, disappointing not to even have some fairy liquid to enable us to wash our cups. The dishwasher didn’t work.

This is a beautiful cottage, tastefully furnished and with every bit of equipment you could need.

The only problem is parking, the cottage has no designated parking and altho we were told there was usually parking in the lane there was not, due to the number of builders at work in neighbouring properties. We had a long walk to the town car park and my husband who has mobility problems could not make the walk which complicated things even more. If we had not had parking problems we would certainly come back. Beaminister is a lovely little town with excellent restaurants etc.and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful.

General feedback for publication- We have stayed in Beaminster for the last three years.

This is the best property yet and, hopefully we will be back. Fiddlesticks has everything you might need with some minor exceptions.It is well appointed, great kitchen and living area plus lovely bedrooms and two bathrooms. Ideally situated just 100 yards from the co-op, The Greyhount, The Red Lion and Dexters. All unreservedly reccommended. Parking continues to be an insurmountable problem and, realistically, if you drive a massive SUV you can forget it anywhere near the property. The Square is your nearest realistic option at , again, 100 yards or so away. Travelling to other parts of Dorset is easy and the roads are generally very good. For a slightly better eating option The Winyard Gap around a 10 min drive away is excellent.

This was our third stay at this lovely cottage.

We appreciate the consistency of cleanliness, and comfort. We also love the upgrade in the conservatory building, lovely painting! We will definitely be back.

On arrival, we were greeted with a bottle of Prosecco and a thoughtful Christmas card from the owners, which added such a personal touch. It's the little details that made this stay memorable. Highly recommend this place—5 stars all the way!"

Everything we needed was on hand and the house was larger than we expected from the pictures.

Lovely and cosy, a proper home from home.

Lovely cottage in a handy position for the town, and a good base for visiting Historic Houses/Gardens/ and coastline.

Spacious comfortable lounge, bedrooms also. Main bathroom - over bath electric shower - excellent. Private parking would have been good but we were always able to find a space in the lane to park, or plenty of town parking nearby. An enjoyable week! Alan &Gill.

This year was the 4th stay at Fiddlesticks and the cottage is just about ideal for us.

The location is hard to beat with walks from the doorstep and lovely pubs, shops and market square minutes walk away. The Dorset countryside and coast are places/areas to return to time and again.

The cottage was very impressive and we had all we needed.

The only odd thing was a glass door and curtain for one of the bedrooms - would be better with a plain door. The pull switch in the bathroom stopped working but was fixed the following day when we were out. - very efficient.

We were delighted with the accommodation and facilities and could find no fault whatsoever.

We will definitely be booking a week next year at Fiddlesticks Cottage and would recommend the Cottage to our friends. Beaminster is a delightful town and people are very friendly. We look forward to our next visit.

The cottage was vey lovely , very well equipped, and the couches and chairs were very comfortable indeed!

Thank goodness for the electric stove in the living room as the week we stayed there, the temperatures outside were freezing. Having the heat go off during the day meant we had to rely on the electric heater more than normal, The garden was the only let down of the property. The levels are a bit dangerous, particularly for my partner who has a visual disability. Also, having no where for a dog to pee and poo is a drawback. Thankfully grass was nearby where we had to take our dogs to in the morning and evening. Overall we enjoyed our stay and really loved exploring the area.

Have been coming here for years, to visit family and always feel at home.

Think the facilities would benefit from the addition of a hairdryer....and new pillows! Shower in main bathroom still poor, but the one downstairs is great. Lovely, comfortable stay, as always, thankyou. Karen

We had a great week at Fiddlesticks cottage.

It was the perfect location for country and coastal walks. The cottage was a home from home after a day’s walking.

The cottage was comfortable & well equipped.

The position was central to Beaminster but was in a quiet location with nice walks available from the house. Would definitely recommend to others.

It was beautifully decorated and well equipped. There were lovely walks from the front door and Beaminster was an ideal spot to visit places in Dorset. We were concerned about the lack of handrail on the steps up to the patio and along the edge of the patio. From a Health and Safety point of view, it was an accident waiting to happen. We are fit and healthy people but anyone with a mobility issue should be warned.

An excellent cottage in a delightful location.

Facilities were very good, with access to wi fi, Netflix and U-tube. The kitchen was well supplied with equipment, including a dishwasher. There was also the well-appointed laundry room. On the downside, the upstairs shower was no more than a trickle and the downstairs shower head kept falling apart. the main complaint was no parking, which was advertised. However, putting those small details aside it was in all a delightful stay.

Great Cottage in a very clean and well equipped condition.

Parking is mentioned a lot but it’s street parking and local shop workers park during the day but space later in the day. A resident parking system would be ideal but no real issue and will return

Beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean and with everything you could possibly need.

The location was a delight, as was the local pub The Greyhound. Without doubt the loveliest cottage we have ever stayed in.

A lovely cottage in a friendly village environment, and an area with great stretches of beaches, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the support of Graeme.

We have stayed in Beaminster several times and Fiddlesticks is our favourite cottage so far, we hope to stay there again.

Well-equipped, comfortable, perfect location (very near to both the town and to great dog walks) and very quiet. Charming and homely, and lovely neighbours too!

My Sister & I had a wonderful week at Fiddlesticks.

The cottage was really comfortable & had everything you needed for a great stay. There were shops in the High Street, and lots of places to visit close by, as well as a beach. We really enjoyed our stay.
