“Only problem was finding the cutlery drawer which was difficult to find.”

A note in the manual would have been helpful. The property was just as described and as you would hope to find the accommodation. Clean comfortable and of a high standard. An added bonus is the closeness of the sea and view from the patio.

The property

Set within the grounds of the charming Eype Mouth Chalet Park rests this fabulously-appointed single-storey holiday home, Sandpiper Chalet.

Perfectly positioned to explore the dramatic Jurassic Coastline, Sandpiper Chalet is an idyllic base for a small family looking for a seaside adventure.

A spacious gravelled driveway greets you at the foot of this lovely dwelling, leading you over the threshold and into a light and airy open-plan living space, boasting a sumptuous sofa and two snug armchairs gathered alongside the towering patio doors, enticing you to put your feet up and unwind as you soak in the panoramic views across the stunning waters in the near distance.

The charming kitchen is tucked away in the corner of the sociable space, nestled alongside a snug dining table, where you can gather together with your loved ones to plan your next adventure as the budding chef prepares a heart-warming meal.

Stepping outside, you'll find a delightful private patio, where you can end each day in style with a leisurely seat with a glass of fizz to watch the sun as it sets over the horizon.

As the evening draws to a close, head back inside and retire to one of the two thoughtfully laid out bedrooms, with the choice between a sumptuous king-size and a snug twin, both featuring a delightful nautical décor and offering a calming setting to rest your head.

In the morning, prepare for a new day with an invigorating rinse in the modern walk-in shower before heading off on foot to explore your surroundings.

Lace up your walking boots and embark on an adventure on one of the many walking routes that lead from your doorstep, following the South West Coast Path along the unspoilt Jurassic coastline to the nearby harbour settlement of West Bay, or in the opposite direction, visit the seaside village of Charmouth.

If that's not your thing, spend a fun-filled day at the beach, indulging in a revitalizing dip in the tranquil waters of the English Channel, backed by the impressive cliffs that decorate the shoreline.

After working up an appetite, treat the family to a delicious home-cooked meal at the local pub, The New Inn, serving a fabulous selection of locally produced ciders alongside a friendly Dorset welcome, and if you're lucky enough to experience the warmer weather, enjoy your refreshing drink in the tranquil terraced garden, surrounding by the scenic countryside.

Venture further afield and visit the market town of Bridport, perfect for a spot of shopping with the selection of high-street and boutique stores on offer, and if you time it right, you might catch the fantastic farmers market, showcasing the best of local produce.

Make memories that will last a lifetime with a stay at Sandpiper Chalet.

About the location

EYPE

Bridport 1.8 miles; Lyme Regis 9.6 miles; Seaton 18.4 miles.

Eype sits on one of the most dramatic sections of the Jurassic Coastline, and famously features one of ITV’s series Broadchurch’s most iconic locations. We’ll leave you guessing as to which one until you visit. The beach at Eype is a steeply shelving pebble beach that is dog friendly all year round and just 3 miles from Bridport and 4 from West Bay, where many other Broadchurch locations can be viewed, as well enjoying local fish and chips on the harbour side and ice creams on the sea front. Bridport offers all the high street amenities you will need along with a much-coveted antiques and collectables market. Golden Cap, the highest point in Dorset, sits on the South West Coast path and is just 4 miles from Eype, although it’s the highest point there are moderate routes to walk to the top, where spectacular far reaching views along the coast will be your reward.
