“Our group of 4 enjoyed the cottage and our stay in Portland.”

Conveniently placed. There were a couple of maintenance issues but not show stoppers but a great place for us. Comfy furniture and beds. Before we started the holiday we read reviews, some good, some bad, but actually it was fine and everything we needed really. Would be very happy to stay there again. Recommendations would be to ensure the hoover pipes are all secure and in working order, batteries in the remotes should be replaced for new, skirting board at the foot of the cooker needs ...

Recommendations would be to ensure the hoover pipes are all secure and in working order, batteries in the remotes should be replaced for new, skirting board at the foot of the cooker needs securing properly, the back yard could do with a clean but wasn't really the time of year to be out there, cleaning under the TV stand was a bit lacking. We cleaned the windows. in the lounge, made all the difference. Yes the parking was a bit of a challenge but once sorted made great use of the buses and didn't need to use the car except to go to the Bill. Ideally situated for a great holiday, Thank you.

The property

Situated behind the sea wall and just a minute or so from the beach, Neptune Cottage is a delightful terraced fisherman's cottage dating back 200 years but now made a modern holiday home.

Located in the popular Chiswell area of Portland it is ideally located for water sports enthusiasts; the National Sailing Academy as well as diving and windsurfing facilities are nearby.

There are wetsuit drying hooks and hose conveniently in the property. With its character features blended with contemporary interior furnishings, together with its beachside location, Neptune Cottage is a popular choice.

With accommodation over three floors you have everything you need for a family’s or a group of friends stay.

The bedrooms are located on the first and second floors with comfortable ground floor shower room and spacious first floor bathroom.

Wooden beds and furniture throughout with green accents make it an attractive holiday home. As the property doesn’t have WiFi service, you can relax and dive into your holiday and forget about daily routine.

There are so many different activities for you to choose from! The spectacular Chesil beach, which is dog friendly, stretches for miles and is literally behind the cottage, and can be accessed in seconds.

You can walk on top of the bank towards Chesil Beach visitor centre where you can find out more about Dorset wildlife. As well as enjoying the sun and views on the beach, if you are a keen fisherman (or lady) you may try and catch your tea.

Alternatively, you may partake of a meal and drink at the adjacent Cove Inn which has a terrace overlooking the beach or Quiddles, just along the esplanade which serves fresh seafood.

Try a walk along the South West coastal path from here which in its entirety is 630 miles long.

One of the sections goes around the rugged landscape of the Isle of Portland with three lighthouses, XIII century church ruins, Rufus castle, Portland Harbour and more.

Returning to Neptune Cottage you have a variety of takeaways, pubs and restaurants including the acclaimed Blue Fish Cafe within a few minutes’ walk.

Local shops are also conveniently located a ten-minute stroll away.

Neptune Cottage is a lovely holiday home for families and water sports enthusiasts.
