The property is situated in Kellaway Court; an attractive, gated development on an area which, for hundreds of years, was used for brewing beer. Yet another lovely cottage, (our 10th booking with you,) Poppies was spotless, very comfortable beds and everything one needs. In a super location close to heart of harbour and restaurants etc. Lovely to leave the car behind gates while you enjoy the town. Will be back again. Thank you - stayed May 2017

Mr & Mrs D G Waterrman
Excellent cottage, comfy beds and the kitchen well equipped for any meal that needs to be prepared. This is a home from home cottage well situated for any tourist attractions or just leaving the car behind for walks nearby. Very clean and warm .Useful to have books DVDs info leaflets and the "Weymouth " jigsaw fits just right on the coffee table for a winter stay! Walking distance of local supermarket etc. We have used dream cottages for over 10 years and found the service excellent and a high standard of holiday homes. See you in June! Stayed March 2017

Mr D Kennedy
The booking process was very easy, the staff at dream cottages were very friendly and helpful, and Poppies was an extremely nice place to stay. I have travelled to Weymouth a lot for work and this is the first time I've used a holiday let rather than a hotel. I should have done this much sooner as the overall experience was better than a hotel. Stayed November 2016

Mrs L Davis
Great Accommodation Excellent Location Definitely recommend - stayed October 2016

About the Location

Weymouth sits perfectly on the stunningly beautiful Jurassic coastline. Located on the Southern tip of Dorset, this traditional seaside town is one of the most visited and popular areas on the south coast.

With a beautiful, blue flag, sandy beach, sitting against the back drop of an elegant Georgian esplanade, this seaside wonder is a firm favourite for families. As indeed it once was for King George III, who famously used to holiday here.

For a perfectly nostalgic English seaside holiday, you can ask for no more. A golden, sandy beach, named one of the best in Britain, shallow waters which are perfect for paddling, Punch and Judy shows, donkey rides, carousels on the promenade, all accompanied by traditional chippies and quaint tea rooms.

Head down to Weymouth’s Old Harbour, a fine Georgian harbour and one of the prettiest in Europe. Simply soak up the bustling atmosphere of harbour life; sit on the harbour wall with some fish and chips and watch the large catamarans, traditional fishing boats and luxury yachts. Or why not enjoy an adrenaline fuelled ride around the bay with the Weymouth Bay Rib Charters. How about a nice family fishing trip? Many of the fishing boats at the harbour offer fishing trips for absolute beginners and accomplished anglers. Weymouth is fantastic for fishing with plenty of wrecks and reefs to explore.

Try a Jurassic Safari where you can sample Dorset’s secret beauty, off the beaten track. You will be taken along unspoilt country lanes, ancient byways and deep river crossings, whilst catching sight of beautiful wildlife.

Fossil hunting on Chesil beach is a joy with the children. They can run up and down the steep shingle climb, whilst you picnic on the beach.

Sandworld is definitely worth a visit; the sand art won’t fail to impress and there is a fantastic sandpit for the children to play in.

Visit the magnificent Nothe Fort and explore the tunnels and passageways that were once filled with soldiers and canons. See where all the gun powder was stored and walk up to the top level where the canons were fired at the approaching enemy.

If a leisurely stroll through beautiful gardens is more your thing, why not try the award winning Greenhill Gardens, which sit right on the seafront. Bennetts Water Gardens is also a lovely choice, replete with a vast array of water lilies and a Claude Monet style Japanese bridge. A very romantic setting for a picnic!

For a fun packed day out with the kids, head to the Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park and Tower, an underground sea world with attractions, rides and over 1,000 incredible creatures. Venture up in a viewing capsule on the The Jurassic Skyline for an incredible panoramic view across the Jurassic Coastline and Dorset countryside.

Children will love Fantasy Island. There are lots of rides, many traditional ones ideal for younger children, tea pots and flying elephants to name but a few! Penny arcades, slot machines and a fab coffee bar.

Weymouth is a fantastic town with plenty to do for everyone!
