Overlooking Portland Harbour, Weymouth Bay and Sandsfoot castle ruins, Lookout is ideally placed to ensure you make the most of the views on your Dorset Holiday. This modern Spanish style house has all you need to relax on holiday.  The Jurassic Coastal path is just moments from the house and gives you access to some of the most breath-taking walks. A short Drive away is the National Sailing Academy, Portland, Weymouth town, beach and seaside attractions.  A pub and convenience store are within easy walking distance and there is a café at Sandsfoot Castle just across the road.  If you want to explore further afield, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Corfe Castle are a short drive to the east, with Chesil Beach, Burton Bradstock, West Bay and Bridport to the west. All offer unique views and insights in to the gorgeous Jurassic coastline.  One of our favourite things about a stay at Lookout is the 'almost secret' sandy beach at the end of the road. With shallow waters and views over Portland Harbour it's the perfect place to spend the day with the children and dogs playing together.

Super holiday we went in June, it was our third stay at Lookout it's so clean and comfortable it's home from home and this year we had the weather too sitting on the balcony eating our breakfast every morning watching the world go by. Can't wait to go back next year. Stayed June 2017

Miss S Adams
We absolutely loved the Lookout. The view is stunning and the location great. There is every facility you need and it allowed two pets. We would love to come back next year, it was delightful! It was exceptionally clean on arrival has exceeded standards of other cottages we have used. Thank you. Stayed May 2017

Mrs R Hutchinson
Absolutely loved it at the Lookout. The views were amazing, the property itself was fabulous, very well stocked with everything we needed. I don't normally go to the same place twice but I would deffo make an exception with the Lookout. I absolutely loved staying there and would recommend it in a heartbeat. We came away for a break from life as we had suffered a couple of bereavements in the year so we needed somewhere to relax and chill and take our minds off everything, this holiday was just the job. I seriously cannot recommend this property highly enough. Stayed April 2017

About the Location

Weymouth sits perfectly on the stunningly beautiful Jurassic coastline. Located on the Southern tip of Dorset, this traditional seaside town is one of the most visited and popular areas on the south coast.

With a beautiful, blue flag, sandy beach, sitting against the back drop of an elegant Georgian esplanade, this seaside wonder is a firm favourite for families. As indeed it once was for King George III, who famously used to holiday here.

For a perfectly nostalgic English seaside holiday, you can ask for no more. A golden, sandy beach, named one of the best in Britain, shallow waters which are perfect for paddling, Punch and Judy shows, donkey rides, carousels on the promenade, all accompanied by traditional chippies and quaint tea rooms.

Head down to Weymouth’s Old Harbour, a fine Georgian harbour and one of the prettiest in Europe. Simply soak up the bustling atmosphere of harbour life; sit on the harbour wall with some fish and chips and watch the large catamarans, traditional fishing boats and luxury yachts. Or why not enjoy an adrenaline fuelled ride around the bay with the Weymouth Bay Rib Charters. How about a nice family fishing trip? Many of the fishing boats at the harbour offer fishing trips for absolute beginners and accomplished anglers. Weymouth is fantastic for fishing with plenty of wrecks and reefs to explore.

Try a Jurassic Safari where you can sample Dorset’s secret beauty, off the beaten track. You will be taken along unspoilt country lanes, ancient byways and deep river crossings, whilst catching sight of beautiful wildlife.

Fossil hunting on Chesil beach is a joy with the children. They can run up and down the steep shingle climb, whilst you picnic on the beach.

Sandworld is definitely worth a visit; the sand art won’t fail to impress and there is a fantastic sandpit for the children to play in.

Visit the magnificent Nothe Fort and explore the tunnels and passageways that were once filled with soldiers and canons. See where all the gun powder was stored and walk up to the top level where the canons were fired at the approaching enemy.

If a leisurely stroll through beautiful gardens is more your thing, why not try the award winning Greenhill Gardens, which sit right on the seafront. Bennetts Water Gardens is also a lovely choice, replete with a vast array of water lilies and a Claude Monet style Japanese bridge. A very romantic setting for a picnic!

For a fun packed day out with the kids, head to the Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park and Tower, an underground sea world with attractions, rides and over 1,000 incredible creatures. Venture up in a viewing capsule on the The Jurassic Skyline for an incredible panoramic view across the Jurassic Coastline and Dorset countryside.

Children will love Fantasy Island. There are lots of rides, many traditional ones ideal for younger children, tea pots and flying elephants to name but a few! Penny arcades, slot machines and a fab coffee bar.

Weymouth is a fantastic town with plenty to do for everyone!
