Set in the heart of Castletown Portland, renowned for its role in deploying troops for D-Day, the unique new development of Crabbers' Wharf offers this gorgeous suite with private uninterrupted views across the South Dorset Coastline. On the far end of the Wharf, this brand-new self catering Suite, comes with all the comforts you need to relax and enjoy your holiday.  Ideally located for you to view the secluded and clear waters of Chesil Cove, just a short distance away.  Portland is ideal for snorkelling, scuba diving, rock pooling, fishing or sunbathing.  There are other popular local pursuits on and around Portland which include walking (the flora and fauna are a nature lover's delight) and bird watching (Portland is popular for observing rare migrating birds).
If you'd like to spread your wings further, the historic seaside town of Weymouth is easily reached by the Weymouth to Portland small local ferry, which stops outside Crabbers' Wharf three times a day, a beautiful way to travel or just as easy by car or using the frequent local bus service. Weymouth offers a beautiful Georgian Sea front, wide sandy beach and traditional seaside activities. Guests staying in the The Chief's Suite can enjoy concessionary rates for entry to the D-Day Museum in Castletown. A short drive away are World Heritage sites such as Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove to the East and West Bay cliffs to the west.

Ms Palmer
A brilliant property. Very nicely and comfortably furnished. Everything we needed was available. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property! Stayed August 2017.

About the Location

Portland is a wonderful holiday destination. It offers arguably the best sailing and windsurfing waters in the world, an abundance of rare wildlife since Portland is a major migrating point for birds, miles of stunning coastal walks, great fishing trips straight from Portland Marina, beautiful beaches, some of which are dog friendly all year around, fantastic pubs and some of the best cream teas in Dorset.

Meander through the pretty villages filled with old stone cottages, cobbled streets, traditional shops and cafes and stop for cream tea and lashings of luscious cake. The main village of Portland is Easton, which sits on the plateau. Then there is Fortuneswell, which lies on a steep hill and was described by Thomas Hardy as being ‘houses above houses, one man’s doorstep rising behind his neighbour’s chimney’. Southwell is another charming village, filled with quaint quarrymen cottages and a village pub in the heart of the village. Park here to access the glorious cliff walks along the South West Coastal Path.
