Take the land train to the Sea Life Centre from the pavilion, or walk along the esplanade with a local ice cream to see the beach huts at Greenhill; don't forget to eat local fish and chips on the harbourside.
If you want to venture further afield, the Isle of Portland offers breathtaking views and the popular Portland Bill Lighthouse.
Chesil Beach and the fascinating Tout Quarry Sculpture Park & Nature Reserve are also worth a visit.
