Within a five minute walk is Lulworth Cove, world famous for its geologically unique and beautiful cove, and the Dorset Coastal Path is just a stroll away.

The cottage makes a very good base to explore the Jurassic Coast and the beautiful Dorset countryside. The nearby Durdle Door, a large rock formation likened to a doorway, arising from the sea, is a must visit attraction; a popular beach offering snorkelling and cliff walks.

A lazy trip along the coast will take you to Swanage in the East and Weymouth in the West.

Days can be filled with activities such as a boat ride along the Coast, walking along the World Heritage Status coastline searching for fossils or exploring the many geological and historical sites nearby.

About the location

West Lulworth

West Lulworth boasts some of the most dramatic geological features on the Jurassic coast line and arguably the most photographed locations in the UK. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit at the heart of this area and really are a must see. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beach side shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle. This is a really special area and the village retains a lot of it’s thatched cottages and has a real air of a rural retreat.
