“We spent a very wet and windy week in Amy Cottage and it was perfect!”
The cottage really was home from home, equipped with everything we needed for a self catering break. The cottage was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. The location was great with direct access to the coastal path and only a short walk down to the beautiful Lulworth Cove. We travelled with our dog who, like us, settled in right away. The utility room was perfect after muddy and sandy walks, with dog towels and treats provided too! ... We holiday in the UK regularly, and this was by far the best ever! even with rubbish weather for a few days the beautiful cottage more than made up for it, it totally exceeded our expectations, it is so well equipped it really is a home from home, the owners have thought about absolutely everything! We had wonderful days out, ate out at pubs and cafes within walking distance and had cosy days/ nights in cuddled up in front of the fire - absolutely perfect. We will definitely be rebooking Amy cottage in the future, its in the perfect location for all seasons, some wonderful walks on your doorstep, I cannot recommend it highly enough.- Miss Tyrrell, October 2019

The interior has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished to reflect its surroundings. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to cater if you want but there are plenty of good eating places within walking distance. It’s position in West Lulworth is amazing as a short walk brings you to the beautiful Cove and walks aplenty on your doorstep. An added bonus is the lovely little terrace with views over the village. Everything that you needed was made available for you. The cottage is qwerky, it has 2 front doors so appears to be 2 cottages when you first look at it from the road.There was 6 of us 4 adults and 2 children 11 and 15 years old. All the bedrooms were a good size. i don't think there is a straight wall or floor in the cottage which added to the fun aspect of the cottage. All the amenities you need are within walking distant. Lulworth cove is a short stroll from the cottage. The people next door were very friendly. Its a 15 mile 25 minuet drive into weymouth through some lovely countryside. “Beautifully presented traditional cottage with so many thoughtful extras to make you feel welcome and at home.”
We loved the interior design which was warm and cosy yet very stylish. We also really appreciated the ‘doggy’ extras which even included a spare lead and collar as well as treats and dog towels! The cottage is really well located in the centre of the village with easy walking to the cove and the local eateries and Sue gave us excellent recommendations for places to eat in the area. “Lovely comfy, cozy cottage in a great location.”
Very well equipped with comfortable beds. The garden is very steep with lots of steps ( as mentioned in the brief) but has a good view and access to the south coast path. A great way to get down to the cove. Lots to do and see in the area with plenty of pubs and restaurants to walk too. We had some lovely days for March so had an amazing time. This well-appointed, fully refurbished cottage (one of West Lulworths first original thatched residences built circa 1600) lies in the heart of West Lulworth, in a picturesque region of Dorset, where the white pebble beach of Lulworth Cove and the iconic Durdle Door beckon with their natural beauty.
Amy Cottage offers families and friends a chance for relax and unwind in a beautiful, thatched dwelling, with walks along the South West Coast Path from the rear terraced garden.
On return you can make the most of your down time in the lounge and get cosy by the fire or rustle up a feast in the farmhouse-style kitchen and get the family together around the dining room table.
The kitchen also has an additional breakfast table and there is plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy a quality break with their loved ones.
Full of character, with its exposed beams, crooked walls and low ceilings, this property is a real gem in Dorset.
The ground floor is complete with a shower room, bathroom with a lovely freestanding bath, as well as a handy utility housing laundry facilities.
At the end of a venturesome day when you have enjoyed an evening of relaxation, choose to sleep in the ground floor single, or climb the stairs to find three more wonderfully appointed bedrooms, each with storage space and elegant fixtures.
All of the bedding at Amy Cottage is pure luxury linen which is a real dream to sleep under,and is wonderfully comfortable - keeping you cool in the summer and warm and cosy in the winter.
The majority of soft furnishings have been handmade using Peony and Sage fabrics which gives the cottage a wonderful light and calming feel.
Outside, you can indulge on the patio to the rear with a refreshing glass of wine and drink in the views over the surrounding hills and countryside over thatched rooftops.
Later climb the South West Coast Path straight from the gate and continue to enjoy the dramatic scenery tracing the glistening waters down to Weymouth Bay.
You are paces away from the essential amenities in the villlage and have access to a plethora of attractions.

About the location
Wareham 9.1 miles; Weymouth 14.7 miles
West Lulworth boasts some of the most dramatic geological features on the Jurassic coastline and arguably the most photographed locations in the UK. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit at the heart of this area and really are a must see. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beachside shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle. This is a really special area and the village retains a lot of it’s thatched cottages and has a real air of a rural retreat.
