“We have booked with Sykes a few times and have never been disappointed but we were this time,we walked into the lounge and were met by a badly stained carpet,a conservatory that needed a good sweeping, there were leaves and lots of bits behind the chairs so they were never moved to clean behind, the toilet bowl in the bathroom upstairs was dark brown from the waterline down,my grandson wouldn’t go in that one,I went straight out and bought toilet cleaner,I used it and within an hour the stains had gone, how your cleaner didn’t see this I’ll never know,it had taken months to get like this,we had a problem with the shower head,it came off and the thread had gone so we couldn’t put it back on,we rang about it and was only without a shower for 24hrs before a new one was fitted, and as he came bank holiday Monday tea time we were pleased with the punctuality,as with six of us needing the shower it wasn’t really convenient.”

The property

Seagulls is a detached property located on the outskirts of the quaint fishing village of West Bay.

On the ground floor you will find a well equipped kitchen perfect for creating some tasty meals for all the family.

Relaxing in the open plan dining area and sitting room watching tv or you could curl up with a book in front of the gas fire.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and a family bathroom. West Bay is a perfect seaside location for family holidays, coast and countryside walks, fossil hunting and a fishing trip from the harbour is highly recommended.

West Bay was featured in the ITV drama series "Broadchurch" with its stunning golden glow of the majestic sandstone cliffs.

The harbour offers great views towards the beach and sea, over to East Cliff and the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, and access to walks along the coastal path.

The nearby Riverside Restaurant is renowned as the South West's premier seafood venue offering locally caught, as fresh as can be, seafood and a superb all round menu.

A choice of home cooked pub food or simple fish and chips are also available within the village. The vibrant market town of Bridport is just two miles away with its famous farmers market selling locally produced food, the town with its antique, craft and curios shops which give it a more traditional, non-high street feel. Weymouth, Dorchester and Lyme Regis are a pleasant scenic half an hour drive away or, for relaxation, catch the Jurassic Coastline hop-on/off bus during the summer season.
