The property

Stonesthrow lies adjacent to wonderful coastal walks in Weymouth and has direct sea views spanning across towards Lulworth Cove and Portland.

The house is well-equipped for families or a group of friends looking for a holiday home close to the National Sailing Academy in Portland and in the outskirts of Weymouth, still a short drive away from the town centre. The accommodation is over three floors with one twin single bedroom on the first floor and another twin single and double with en-suite bathroom on the second floor.

The property can accommodate up to six guests, the cot and high chair are available to use as well.

One well-behaved dog is welcome too. Spend the afternoon in the landscaped garden with a tropical feel and sip a cold drink or even have a meal in the sun. In the morning after having breakfast on your own balcony overlooking the sea you can take an invigorating walk along the beach or amble along the ‘Rodwell Trail’, an old railway line which takes you to the town centre.

The Isle of Portland is just across the causeway and it also offers you the wonderful Chesil beach to comb and look for a few lost treasures!

The views of the waves crashing to the Chesil beach is a wonderful experience with views stretching to the Isle of Portland high cliffs on one side and West Bay, Devon to the other side. The enthusiastic fisherman can fish from the nearby beach at night and exchange tales with the locals who can tell you when the fish are ready to bite.

Just a few minutes away by car is the National Sailing Academy and from here you can enjoy a range of water sports in the Olympic standard waters around Weymouth and Portland. Weymouth town centre with its' golden sands and a host of restaurants and shops is a keen walk from Stonesthrow or around six minutes journey by car. Four a group of friends or a family Stonesthrow is a perfect holiday home to relax from busy city life close to the beach.

About the location

WYKE REGIS

Weymouth 2 miles; Dorchester 9 miles.

Wyke Regis is village on the south western side of Weymouth that sits on the northern edges of Portland harbour and reaches as far as the back of Chesil beach and The Fleet. 2 miles from the centre of Weymouth. There are local shops, cafés and restaurants including The famous Crab House café, with it’s own Oyster beds on the doorstep. The National Sailing school, an Olympic legacy, offers a wide variety of water sports and is just 2 miles away on the edge of Portland harbour. The Fleet lagoon that runs between Wyke Regis and Chesil beach is an important area for wildlife and there are many species of birds to be seen in the area. Chesil beach is also a renowned spot for fishing. The Fleet is probably most famous for being the testing ground for Barnes Wallis’s bouncing bomb, immortalised in the film the Dam Busters. Wyke Regis is the perfect location from which to explore many of Dorset’s most iconic locations on the Jurassic coast.
