Thank you for the positive feedback about your stay at Safe Harbour over New Year. We will try to respond to suggestions that you have made but unfortunately some of these are outside of our control, for example the recycling issue, options about which are explained in our guest information folder. The property

Safe Harbour is a beautifully renovated three storey house, rated 4 star gold in it's 2019 Independent Assessment, which stands proudly in prime position beside the Old Harbour in Weymouth - arguably the best location in Weymouth.

The property offers guests a luxurious stay in a contemporary atmosphere with a palette of colours reflecting the harbourside location.

The house is very well equipped providing a real 'home from home'.

There are wonderful panoramic views of Weymouth harbour, itself a popular tourist attraction, from the bay windows of the property.

The house is spacious, offering three bedrooms for up to six people, plus one well-behaved dog.

Safe Harbour dates from the 1820s, and has a narrow front door and staircase, which people with mobility difficulties need to be aware of.

On the ground floor, there is a large kitchen with dining area with additional cosy seating area, overlooking the harbour.

The first floor has a lounge with harbour views, plus one en-suite bedroom.

Two bedrooms and family bathroom are located on the second floor.

There is a small step leading into the property, also two steps from the kitchen leading into the courtyard.

Two more steps lead from the courtyard into a separate annexe with laundry room and shower room. On arrival and departure, vehicles can park directly outside the house to unload and load luggage.

Car parking on the harbourside is limited to one hour.

Blue badge parking is available on the harbourside and at several other locations in the town and local area.

As the lounge is on the first floor, the view from here is elevated.

As well as being excellent for spotting visiting yachts from all over the world, the harbour still has fishing boats going about their daily work.

There is always something of interest going on at the harbour.

Watching the town bridge open and close to let the yachts into the inner marina is fascinating for young and old alike.

Brewers Quay and Hope Square, just around the corner, offering cafes, restaurants and pubs.

Newton's Cove, ideal for rock pooling or walking a dog, is a two-minute walk away.

From there, the sweeping coastline leads to the very attractive Nothe Gardens, the old fort and back to the harbour.

At the Stone Pier there is a beautiful view of the beach and Esplanade.

Weymouth has an award-winning sandy beach, ideal for sand castles and bathing, with traditional seaside entertainment such as Punch and Judy, donkey rides and trampolines.

The surrounding waters are a haven for water sports including sailing, wind surfing, scuba diving as well as fishing from land and sea.

Crabbing from the harbourside is a popular pursuit whatever your age.

If you are looking for a luxurious holiday home in the best harbourside location in Weymouth, where the beach and town are also just a few minutes' walk away, then Safe Harbour may be the ideal choice.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
