“A lovely house full of character just a few minutes walk from the harbour and a great base to really unpack the treasures of Dorset and the Jurassic Coast.”

House is spacious, well equipped, has a lovely south facing garden (it’s a real sun trap), the WiFi is really fast, and dedicated parking is a real bonus too. (We got 2 large cars parked no problems). We did not actually use the car all week as we used the bus to go to Dorchester, Bridport, and Lulworth Cove / Durdle Door and there is also the train if you want to go further afield. (We got 2 large cars parked no problems). We did not actually use the car all week as we used the bus to go to Dorchester, Bridport, and Lulworth Cove / Durdle Door and there is also the train if you want to go further afield. Weymouth has lots to see and do and plenty of places to eat and drink. We did not have a bad meal all week. If we could recommend one lunch place it would be the Stone Pier Cafe and one evening meal place it would be the Red Lion. My only constructive feedback would be: barely any toilet roll or dishwasher tablets provided (we stayed for the week and the dishwasher was used everyday), no kitchen roll provided plus we could not find any oven gloves. Also, en-suite bathroom would massively benefit from the installation of an extractor fan. That said, these are just minor things and we absolutely loved our stay and would love to return. Highly recommended.

The property

This three-bedroom fully modernised holiday cottage named ODYSEA is located in the popular seaside town of Weymouth, part of the Jurassic coast of Dorset. Just minutes away from the sea, harbour and wide sandy beach, this mid-terrace home makes a fantastic base for both families and friends.

With two off-road parking spaces, three bathrooms and two receptions it is ideal for larger family groups.

The front door leads through to the traditionally tiled entrance hall with ground floor shower room, WC and basin. The front snug offers a cool peaceful spot to relax and unwind with a book or TV. Moving through the property, the open-plan living space serves as the central hub for entertaining with soft seating, kitchen and dining table. With southerly garden views this room is warm, light and airy.

The contemporary kitchen hosts everything you need for a self-catered stay, including an electric oven, microwave and induction hob.

Dishwasher and separate utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Outside is an enclosed walled garden, mature tropical shrubs, lawn and sunny seating area.

The rear gate leads to a 5 minute walk to the sea, Newton’s Cove and the Nothe Gardens. Upstairs to the first-floor; master bedroom with a stylish, fully equipped en-suite shower.

A second double and third twin-bed room.

Separate family bathroom; bath (shower over) WC and basin.

The cottage is ideally located just a short walk to Weymouth town, picturesque harbour and beach.

In fact, forget the car as the location is the envy of most with easy scenic walks, activities and numerous pubs and restaurants just a stone’s throw away. Slightly further afield, by car or the fantastic Jurassic coaster bus service has access to a wealth of popular destinations such as Swanage, Lulworth Cove, the Isle of Portland, Chesil Beach and the Fleet, Abbotsbury and The Swannery, whilst moving onto the fossil hunter’s magnet of Charmouth and Lyme Regis.

Further inland, the famous Dorset hills and countryside with the Roman county town of Dorchester, iconic Shaftsbury and Cerne Abbas (Giant) to name but a few. For a fabulous location with much to see and do, choose ODYSEA.
