“Location good but the overall comfort of the property was misleading certainly not what we had expected.”

The house was spotlessly clean but would not really accommodate 8 people comfortably as only seating for 5 at a push in the lounge. Unfortunately the mattresses were extremely poor and very uncomfortable.

Stepping inside the property, you will be welcomed into the bright sitting room with two plush sofas providing the perfect spot to gather together and watch television or chat as you plan your holiday itinerary, before moving conversations into the open-plan kitchen and dining area, where the head chef can rustle up a tasty dinner to be enjoyed at the dining table or breakfast bar.

The kitchen is well-equipped with all the integrated appliances and mod cons you could possibly need to make cooking for your party a breeze.

Moving through the property and up to the first floor, you will find a king-size bedroom benefiting from an en-suite shower room with underfloor heating, a walk in shower, basin and WC, along with a twin bedroom with two plush single beds and a separate family bathroom with a walk-in shower, double sink, WC and a freestanding bath for you to indulge in a long soak after a busy day exploring the local area.

The second floor is home to a further king-size bedroom, again with an en-suite shower room complete with underfloor heating and another twin room.

There are many things to discover right from the doorstep of Newtons Cove Retreat so you can make use of the two allocated parking spaces and venture out on foot to explore the wonders of this bustling town.

Newton’s Cove is a short stroll away where you can discover the most stunning views over the bay and across to Portland Harbour and, while you are here, enjoy the scenic Nothe Gardens which make a beautiful backdrop for a summer picnic whilst the children search for fossils and crabs in the shallow rock pools.

Weymouth’s attractive harbour leads the way into the town centre, crossing over the iconic drawbridge where you can watch the coming and goings of tall ships, boats and yachts, and discover many shops, cafés and bars to while away the hours, with the award-winning beach providing many family attractions such as donkey rides, arcades, and pure bucket and spade fun on the soft sand.

A great day out is Weymouth Sealife Adventure Park, where you can see the only colony of Fairy penguins living in the UK, or during the summertime you can cool down in the Splash Zone with the children's outdoor pool and fountains and Lodmoor Country Park is also fun-filled with play apparatus, go karts and a steam train.

A little further afield is Monkey World and The Bovington Tank Museum – both great days out for all ages.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
