  • “Lovely cottage in a good location, however it needs some attention as certain areas are not up to standard.”

Things such as loo roll holders falling off of the walls, these all need to be refitted. We could not get the DVD player to work and could not find any instructions for it. Showers need to have the sealant replaced as there was a lot of black mould. These small things let the cottage down. One major problem is the bed on the first floor. The mattress is worn out and very uncomfortable. The same with the seating in the living room, these are worn out too and therefore quite uncomfortable. There ...

There are some very good points to this Cottage. It is equipped with just about everything you could need. The cleanliness inside was fine, but outside was filthy. The entrance outside the front door hasn’t seen a clean in a longtime. Very dirty and scruffy it makes a poor first impression. The balcony on the top floor was also extremely dirty outside and in desperate need of a clean. I don’t think we would stay there again unless the bed was changed, a week of poor sleeping is not what you expect on holiday. This a cottage that with a bit of attention could be wonderful. It was a delight to be able to watch the traffic of boats, an ever changing vista.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
