“We had a lovely stay at Cove House.”

A Perfectly situated property for us. ...

A Perfectly situated property for us. The house is extremely well equipped, lots of tableware, pots and pans etc, two full size ovens, everything you could possibly need in a kitchen (except for a decent mop or a pair of scissors). Also masses of DVD’s, books, games and even an online games station in the 2nd floor lounge. The tumble dryer has a broken door which was a bit problematic, very hard to prise open, and we used it a lot as we had the three tots with us. Comfy beds, lots of wardrobe space, nice bathrooms, nice fresh sheets and towels. Loved the extra 2nd floor lounge, great for a quiet read or people/ harbour watching from the glass balcony. We did not realise that all floors are tiled, so would not come back to this property with small children, we spent the week with our hearts in our mouths due to a lively toddler and tiled stairs! Stair gates would be good if offered. Also the floors were not clean to start with, our feet were very dirty on our first night and we didn’t even step outside. Everything else was very clean though, and we will book with Dream Cottages again, but we will choose somewhere with less unforgiving floors, Dream Cottages have plenty of other very nice properties on offer in lovely Weymouth. I was pleased when we asked for the dustbin to be emptied twice in a week and someone turned up the same day to do it. My son and his partner stayed with us in the house with their three small children, and they are already browsing for next years holiday in Weymouth, they will choose a property with carpets and a garden next time, they are bringing six children aged from 2 years to 16 years so if you could suggest anything very close to the beach and town it will definitely be considered by them. I am looking forward to visiting Weymouth again, and it was a very good start to our holidaying relationship with Dream Cottages.

About the location

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
