“We arrived at 5pm as detailed in the instructions but were unable to check in as the cleaner was still working - she seemed quite surprised that somebody was trying to check in!”

Once in, we found that the cottage was well presented and comfortable for our party of 2 people. It may be a little cramped if fully occupied. One or two things could be improved - the shower head in one of the showers needs tightening so that it stays in place. Some better garden furniture would be nice. And finally - what happens to all the handles for grill pans in all rented cottages? It's so rare to have a grill pan with a handle!

The property

Sutton Poyntz is a small village on the northern side of Preston, on the outskirts of Weymouth, and it sits beneath the George III chalk horse that is carved into the hillside. At the centre of the village sits a beautiful duck pond, and the Springhead pub, where you can enjoy a drink in the pub gardens whilst admiring the chalk horse carving. Just 3.5 miles from Weymouth and it’s golden sandy beach, lanes of boutique shops, sea life centre and historic harbour this is a perfect village base for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Just 13 miles away are the UNESCO world Heritage sites of Lulworth Cove and Durdle, a short drive further on finds you at Corfe Castle, most recently known for being the inspiration behind many Enid Blyton Famous Five novels.
