“Been at the property previously so facilities were as I expected.”

Village of Sutton Poyntz is lovely, very peaceful. Very close to the Springhead Pub which was very nice, people in the village were really friendly. Property is very spacious, dog friendly and ideally placed for most of Dorset

The property

This holiday home is a spacious, well presented and furnished character detached property with a sunny enclosed rear garden in Sutton Poyntz, Weymouth.

The Court House is so named as it housed, in medieval times, the court when Sutton Poyntz was the local regional centre, and later the court house for the Weld Estate.

A renovated detached barn conversion has a large kitchen and dining area, rustle up a tasty snack and then relax with a drink in the sitting area complete with exposed beams or open the patio doors and enjoy sitting in the beautiful garden.

The Courthouse has three bedrooms one with en-suite.

Sutton Poyntz retains the street plan and many of the stone houses from this period and from when it formed the inspiration for "Overcombe" in Thomas Hardy's "The Trumpet Major".

Today it offers the peace and quiet of village life with the sound of ducks and rustling willows from the village mill pond.

A very short stroll takes you past the mill pond to the Springhead Pub which offers local ales, chilled wine and a varied menu, a shop is also within walking distance.

The Court House is an excellent centre for walking with the famous White Horse and the South West Coast path immediately to the north of the village.

A one mile walk brings you to the sea at Bowleaze Cove whilst the golden sands of Weymouth and its picturesque harbour are a short drive or bus journey away.

The Court House is well located to explore the whole of the Jurassic Heritage coast with Purbeck, from Lulworth Cove and Kimmeridge Bay all the way to Swanage to the east and Abbotsbury, Chesil Beach, Bridport and Lyme Regis to the west.

A beautiful stone detached property in a stunning village location this is the ideal property for coastal break away.

Sutton Poyntz is a small village on the northern side of Preston, on the outskirts of Weymouth, and it sits beneath the George III chalk horse that is carved into the hillside. At the centre of the village sits a beautiful duck pond, and the Springhead pub, where you can enjoy a drink in the pub gardens whilst admiring the chalk horse carving. Just 3.5 miles from Weymouth and it’s golden sandy beach, lanes of boutique shops, sea life centre and historic harbour this is a perfect village base for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Just 13 miles away are the UNESCO world Heritage sites of Lulworth Cove and Durdle, a short drive further on finds you at Corfe Castle, most recently known for being the inspiration behind many Enid Blyton Famous Five novels.
