The property

Brickyard Cottage is a cosy terraced cottage situated on the outskirts of the village of Moreton, near the village train station, which is on the main trainline from London.

The cottage is traditionally built and features cottage style doors and a Rayburn.

Once you enter through the hall, put your bags in two bedrooms upstairs and cosy up by the open fire in a sitting room.

Bathroom is in lovely sky-blue colour and is very bright, spacious and comfortable for you to get ready for a day out exploring the area.

There is a summer house in the pretty garden along with a small furnished patio upon which you can enjoy the many birds who visit the garden, previous guests have reported spotting a wide variety of species including woodpeckers.

Moreton is well known for its church with windows etched by Whistler and it is famed as the resting place of T.E.

Lawrence, more commonly known as Lawrence of Arabia.

The area surrounding the cottage is called ‘Thomas Hardy’ Country.

His birthplace at Bockhampton and his home at Max Gate are two local interest attractions.

The Frampton Arms Inn is just a stroll away and offers local beers and a variety of meals.

Visiting Dorchester, Weymouth and the many surrounding beaches is just a short car ride away.

Moreton Station has a direct line service to Weymouth and to London.

Brickyard Cottage is well positioned for visiting South West Dorset's attractions such as Monkey World, the Tank Museum and the wonderful World Heritage Jurassic Coastline. This beautiful cottage is a delight to explore beautiful South West Dorset countryside for a family or friends just a short drive away from the beach.

Dorchester 7.6 miles; Weymouth 12.3 miles; Blandford Forum 14.5 miles.

Moreton is a tranquil village that sits just 8 miles east of the County town of Dorchester, and is famous for it’s association with the celebrated soldier, writer and pioneering archaeologist T.E.Lawrence, better know as Lawrence of Arabia. He settled in the village in a cottage called Cloud’s Hill and now owned by the National Trust. While living here he struck up a relationship with Louisa Frampton and some of their letters can be seen in the Moreton Tea rooms. Moreton sits just 8 miles from the County town of Dorchester where you can find Thomas Hardy’s Former home and cottage, as well as many cafes and restaurants and other high street amenities you require. If you are interested in military history then the Bovington Tank Museum is just 6 miles drive away, and a very informative day.
