    “I recommend Sykes Holidays.”

Their communication, information and documentation were faultless. Blossom Cottage is a delight. It is cosy and very well-equipped. Bed linen, towels and general cleanliness are excellent. The cottage is very conveniently situated for Weymouth and The Jurassic Coast. My only reservation is about car parking. Not only is the single covered space quite small, it cannot be driven or reversed straight into being at right-angles. Manoeuvring diagonally in and out in a hired Mercedes C-class car was ...

Not only is the single covered space quite small, it cannot be driven or reversed straight into being at right-angles. Manoeuvring diagonally in and out in a hired Mercedes C-class car was not for the feint-hearted! There are nowhere else on the site to park. Nevertheless, I would thoroughly recommend it.

The property

A charming thatched Blossom cottage is situated next to Craig’s Farm Dairy, tea room and farm shop in the village of Osmington, Dorset.

It is perfectly placed for buying fresh milk, cheeses and wonderful ice cream from the farm shop.

If you yearn for life in a spacious thatched country cottage with beam ceilings, then this holiday home will truly delight you.

Open blue main door and dive into your holiday fairy tale in a countryside cottage.

Leave your shoes in the hallway and march to a comfortable and cosy living room with a log burner effect fire, leading into conservatory with dining table and chairs.

Prepare the meal in a fully equipped and modern kitchen and enjoy it with all family in the garden or conservatory. Take the stairs to the first floor where four well-furnished bedrooms will make you feel like home. You can walk to the coast at Osmington Mills, where you may explore the pretty cove, enjoy a welcome break at The Smugglers Inn, or stroll along the Dorset Coastal path. To the West the major resort town of Weymouth with its long sandy beach, perfect for indulging in sand castle making, is around 3 miles away and to the East Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are only a 15-minute drive away.

About the location

OSMINGTON

Osmington village, sits on the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, just 6 miles from Weymouth with it’s infamous beach and historic harbour and just 11 miles from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Home to the famous Chalk hillside carving of George III on horseback, cut into the hillside to commemorate the Royal visits to Weymouth, this landmark can be seen from miles away. It is also the place that John Constable spent his honeymoon in 1816 and where he completed his painting of Weymouth Bay that now hangs in the National Gallery. The South West Coastal path runs through Osmington Mills, a tiny hamlet on the edge of Osmington. Here many walkers start their coast path walks at the Smugglers inn, where reputedly there are historic connections to smuggling. Be sure to visit to find out all the stories. A short drive will see you reach a local convenience store at Preston. Weymouth offers a larger variety of shopping, eating and entertainment choices.

Note: Allocated off road parking space for one car only. If additional cars are unable to park in the development, which has limited parking available, they may have to park in a nearby road.
Note: Single sex parties or commercial bookings are not accepted.
