The property

Milborne St Andrew 2.8 miles.

Found on the outskirts of the picture-perfect village of Milton Abbas in the glorious county of Dorset, is this amazing barn conversion, Middleton Barn.

Set on the site of a working farm but enjoying its own private space, it has been thoughtfully converted to offer wonderful self-catered accommodation to a family of five or six.

Enter your new home-from-home and come straight into the lovely sitting room, where a woodburning stove sits in the corner to warm you as you and your loved ones settle down onto the large corner sofa to put a film on the TV, a great way to end a busy day being outdoors.

From this high-ceiling and lofty space, move into the well-equipped kitchen/diner, where sleek white units host all you need to rustle up some delicious food for the family, and you can gather around the farmhouse dining table to tuck in.

Take a dip in the bubbling hot tub which sits next to the decked area, looking out over beautiful rolling farmland, it creates an idyllic spot, and afterwards on a summer day sit at the ornate outdoor furniture for a spot of lunch.

When you need to catch your rest, you can find a double bedroom on the ground floor, making it suitable for those less able to enjoy a tranquil sleeping spot, and make use of the contemporary wet room on this floor too.

Head up the stairs to the first floor and find two more bedrooms with the sloping ceilings, there is a double room and a single room, with the latter benefiting from a truckle bed which can be pulled out from underneath, and this floor also holds a sparkling shower room.

With stables and lambing fields within a hop and a skip of the front door, you really are submerged into small farm life, and for those staying in late March to early April you may be lucky enough to witness lambing season and all its fluffy joy, a wonderful experience especially for little ones!

Explore the quaint village of Milton Abbas, a sweet chocolate-box haven, its streets adorned with thatched cottages and picturesque vistas.

Take a trip deep into the Dorset AONB and walk trails and routes like the Jubilee Trail which runs through the county for 90-miles, a fantastic way to get to know the area.

Visit Dorchester, the county town, for a whole host of attractions and a great selection of shops and restaurants.

Within reach of the seaside resort of Weymouth to enjoy a fantastic beach day too, Middleton Barn will be your favourite holiday destination in this fantastic location.
